23.01.2022 Introducing Deanna Lane, Office Manager at AcuWellness. Hello to our wonderful community, It is my absolute pleasure to be working in such a beautiful, healing space with an incredibly talented team of people. Im here to make your experience at AcuWellness as peaceful, enjoyable, and as seamless as possible, so you can get the most out of your therapeutic treatments here.... To get to know me a little better, you can read my bio below. I look forward to connecting with you in the practice! Deanna Hi, my name is Deanna - Im an experienced administrator and office manager who loves to apply my skills to improve your experience here at AcuWellness in every way possible. I previously worked as Operations Manager for an international payroll company. My greatest work achievement was managing and mentoring a large administrative and finance team across multiple countries, states and time zones. However, Im most proud of being a mother to four beautiful children, ranging in age from 25 to 5. Having the opportunity to nurture their gifts, talents and unique personalities is my greatest joy. I am passionate about the bodys innate ability to be well, and believe we can use natural therapies, such as acupuncture, naturopathy and wholefood nutrition, to support and maintain our bodys optimal health. I also strongly believe we can reverse many lifestyle-related diseases using these practices. Disillusioned with mainstream medicine and its reliance on prescription medication, I began my wellness journey by seeking alternatives and found healing in aromatherapy, herbs, yoga, a wholefood diet and acupuncture. Im passionate about educating and assisting others to wellness through nutrition and am currently studying Functional Nutrition. Im honoured to work with such an amazing team and to support you in your wellness journey here at AcuWellness.

21.01.2022 Meet our new member of the ACUWellness family Naomi We wanted you to get to know her a little better! ...... How long have you been practising Acupuncture/Massage? 10 years including my studies How long have you been with ACUWellness family? I was first welcomed into the ACUWellness family back in 2018 as locum over the Christmas period. Upon returning from overseas this April and making the move to the Sunshine Coast the ACUWellness family invited back and kindly asked me to join the practice :-) Why did you decide to be an Acupuncturist/ Therapist? As a child I felt naturally drawn to the medicine and somehow knew the needles had the power to effect great changes in the body. I began receiving acupuncture weekly in my late teens/ early twenties and loved how my body felt. I would even stay and hang out with the two lovely practitioners after treatment, sip tea and have them read my palms... I felt like I was home. After a couple of years traveling the world I committed to returning home and beginning my study and acupuncture journey. I knew while I was traveling I would return to begin my complimentary medicine path, as this is something I have always had a deep interest in... mind, body and spirit. Any areas of speciality that interests you? Ie chronic pain, fertility, stress? I am extremely interested in the emotions and mental health. Do you have a morning routine or practice that you do? My morning ritual is sipping on a cup of tea in bed while I tune in and do some automatic writing. Followed by a Spanish lesson on Duolingo and then a walk to the beach to check the surf What is one tip or recommendation for health and wellbeing over the winter season? Keep your feet and tootsies warm... this is key to keeping your kidneys strong and beneficial for your overall wellbeing. Dont underestimate the power of warm feet! If you could have dinner with any person, who would it be and why? Kelly Slater or The Dalai Lama.. hard choice What is one of your favourite sayings or quotes? This moment will pass When you are not in the practice, we can find you.? At the beach, in the ocean, catching waves

16.01.2022 AcuWellness is OPEN! - https://mailchi.mp/09efad789bb0/acuwellness-is-open We would like to reassure our valued clients that our practice - our acupuncture treatment rooms, Chinese herbal dispensary, and nutritional testing - remains open. Chinese medicine is a registered profession and is regarded as an allied health profession by the Federal Government. Allied health is regarded as a primary health care service and thus serving an essential need. We treat patients with a h...uge variety of conditions from arthritis, migraines, digestive issues, anxiety & depression, and chronic pain, as well as provide support during pregnancy and post-partum. In addition, our prescription of Chinese herbs and dietary supplements supports peoples health and their immunity. Acupuncture may strengthen a weakened immune system by increasing red and white cell counts, T-cell count and enhancing humoral and cellular immunity in patients. Closing our doors would put more pressure on the health system that is already stretched beyond its capability. For this reason, we are determined to continue to provide wellness support to our clients during this time. We are taking extra precautions during this time and following all government regulations and recommendations as they are released. Alcohol sanitiser has been provided in every room and at the front desk. Our staff have completed Covid-19 infection control training provided by the Australian Government Department of Health. Frequently touched surfaces are regularly cleaned with hospital grade disinfectant. We are encouraging people with symptoms, and who have returned from travel, or have been in contact with a confirmed case, to refrain from attending the clinic. Social distancing is being enforced by limiting the number of people within the practice at any one time. Our stringent cleaning measures within the practice are being maintained. Please contact us if you have any concerns.

15.01.2022 Meet the ACUWellness family Over the coming weeks, we will introduce you to the wonderful team through a Q&A here on Facebook. If you have any questions you would love to ask any of us, please comment below or private message.... We look forward to you all getting to know us a little better!

15.01.2022 In light of the current global situation with COVID-19, AcuWellness is committed to the safety and wellness of our clients, our team, and our Sunshine Coast community as a whole. At AcuWellness, your wellbeing has always been, and will continue to be, our highest priority. Our practice remains open and we are committed to providing ongoing wellness care to our clients during this time. However, we are making some changes to protect our people and follow government best pract...ice recommendations. As a health care provider and AHPRA members we are committed to: -Maintaining our stringent cleaning and hygiene measures throughout the practice; -Providing alcohol sanitizer in our treatment rooms and at the front desk; -Screening clients for symptoms such as fever, coughing, sore throat, fatigue, and shortness of breath. We have a well-stocked dispensary and have enough supplies to continue supporting our clients with high-quality herbal medicines and nutritional supplements for immune system support. If you develop symptoms within 14 days of last contact with a confirmed case or of returning to Australia, you should seek medical attention. Your doctor will tell you if you need to get tested. Please refrain from attending our practice if you believe you are at risk of having contracted the virus. To stay up to date with the latest information on COVID-19, please visit the Department of Healths Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage. We can all do our part to prevent the spread of this virus by practicing good hygiene. Good hygiene includes: covering your coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue disposing of tissues properly washing your hands often with soap and water, including before and after eating and after going to the toilet using alcohol-based hand sanitisers cleaning and disinfecting surfaces if you are sick, avoiding contact with others and staying more than 1.5 metres away from people cleaning and sanitising frequently used objects such as mobiles, keys and wallets Please do not hesitate to contact us on 0418 506 678 if you have any questions or concerns. Our team at AcuWellness would like to thank you for your continued support. Now, more than ever, let us work together for the good of all, show compassion and consideration to one another, especially to the most vulnerable in our community. 08.01.2022 A diagnosis is made through palpation of the abdomen, or Hara, and listening to the pulse. Areas on the abdomen, represent the different systems of the body and are palpated to find manifestations of deficiency or excess in the body. 04.01.2022 Q&A time with our resident Massage Therapist Stace How long have you been practising Massage? I have been massaging for 7 years.... How long have you been with AcuWellness family? I started on the front desk in 2017. Fell pregnant after a year and a half and then left the practice to have my baby boy, Cruz, who is now 2. I returned at the start of the year as the resident massage therapist of the practice. Why did you decide to be a Massage Therapist? Having been a personal trainer for years I found working with people and their bodies to be extremely fascinating. I wanted to go deeper and to know more. The world of the body and energy systems really interested me. I studied a multitude of modalities and massage styles to end up falling in love with Lomi Lomi massage and pregnancy massage. Any areas of speciality that interests you? Ie chronic pain, fertility, stress? Women’s health and pregnancy healthcare Do you have a morning routine or practice that you do? It usually consists of cuddling with my 2-year-old boy for a while. I love having a warm cuppa and cuddling him in the morning. What is one tip or recommendation for health and wellbeing over the spring season? As the sun starts to get warmer and we start to get busier with social engagements this season, remember to balance your time in nature. Spending time in nature is a vital part to nourishing our wholeness. If you could have dinner with any person, who would it be and why? I would probably rather have a huge dinner party with all of my friends and family because there has been so little of that this year due to restrictions. What is one of your favourite sayings or quotes? From one of my favourite movies Practical Magic My darling girl, when are you going to realise that being normal is not necessarily a virtue. It rather denotes a lack of courage When you are not in the practice we can find you.? With my family at the beach relaxing with friends and surfing.
