24.01.2022 Jess This fab lady is one of my oldest friends- my very first job in photography was working in a photo lab, this is where we met. Before marriage, kids and careers. She’s cheered me on through it all, is responsible for one of the funniest days of my life (but really there’s been countless laughs), stepped up to help me with shooting while I was pregnant and is always happy to chat. A very much appreciated friendship indeed:)... Just wanted to send some love to you @jessicarosephotographyau - it’s important to recognise the community that helps you achieve your successes as well as pick you up when you’re flat too. Can’t wait for our next ‘out of lockdown’ dinner- big love to you xx

23.01.2022 Katie + Grant Whether it be a special someone or not, hope you’re celebrating whatever it is that makes you feel loved. Happy Valentine’s Day xx

22.01.2022 Ash + Sam Afternoon strolls in the botanic gardens before saying their I do’s. Just gorgeous xx

21.01.2022 Relaxed, fun, thoughtful and creative imagery of your important moments. That’s my credo/ethos- but truly, the shortest line I could fit into the Instagram description section. I mean- how do you sum up what you do and want for your clients in one line?! To expand a little- the part I really focus on is ‘important moments’. Important moments could mean the things that first spring to mind- life events such as weddings, babies, fur babies etc. Yep- I’m there, so excited!... As it turns out though, the initial important moments often are comprised of a whole heap of smaller important bits and often things you don’t realise at the time were. And that’s the stuff I’m there for too, that I look for, so that you have it captured, to look back on later.

It’s almost the same walk we do everyday but there’s always new things to see. Here’s a few snaps from my ‘hood’. What have you all been up to?:)

Stay tuned xx

13.01.2022 Chris. Bit of Friday appreciation for my awesome husband. He is such a huge support- not just with our boys, but with my business, dreams, goals and well, life really.... There’s a lot to be grateful for, even when it feels like there isn’t, which I’ve always known I guess, but that’s been truly amplified of late. All the love to you honey. We couldn’t do it without you xx PS- this photo was taken months before the pandemic, who knew the love of puzzles would catch on haha

12.01.2022 Sarah + Adrian Some gorgeous sunset tones on their day. I just realised- I’ve been posting heaps of black and white images lately... do we like it? Not a fan?... I always find myself drawn to the timeless aspect of black and white imagery, the way it can remove busyness from an image. But then, the rich colours of sunset, pops of colour from bouquets and styling are stunning too.... What do you think? I can’t decide haha.

12.01.2022 Pip + Dave About 3 days before these guys got married, the weather was looking abysmal. We had planned our times and photo locations to include one of their favourite places- a gorgeous walk to a cliff side overlooking beautiful flinders beach. ... So- it’s going to rain cats and dogs, what are we going to do?! Philippa called me, we chatted options and I came up with a plan. I rang around to some stunning spots on the peninsula- who could fit us in if the weather turned? Merricks General Store were lovely, said we could head over and they’d fit us in at a moments notice. Plan B made:) Thankfully the rain held off, just a few showers as the reception began. But- the point is- we had a plan B! Melbourne is famous for keeping us on our toes weather wise, you can never have too many plan B’s and it really pays to take charge ahead of time. So you just enjoy your day, no worries.

12.01.2022 Kirsten + Luke Still adore this gorgeous day! @alowyngardens is always stunning, especially around this time of year as spring sets in. Can’t wait to be back soon xx

12.01.2022 Andy. One from the archives. One of my fave photos of my first boy, he’s 4 now and is still just as cute. To which he’d say, no mum, I’m not cute, I’m a big boy now.

12.01.2022 Steph Here’s to a calming, nurturing image in what’s been a wild 24 hours here in Vic. Stay safe everyone and celebrate your valentines with your local restaurant take away or florist delivered flowers xx

09.01.2022 Danielle. Just wanted to give this lady a shoutout for being such a legend! Here she is making Tracey and Mark laugh, her ceremonies are always entertaining and warm. Danielle is a very talented lady but also celebrant, I adore working with her- she’s just one of those people you love being around.... She actually officiated my sisters wedding- it was surprise wedding in an engagement party, so we had to sneak her in as one of the family friends so no one would suspect, but with her it was easy! A huge thanks to you awesome lady for all your support too- miss your face xx

09.01.2022 Here’s a pic of me- I think I was about 18 months old? This is one of only a handful of photos I have of myself as a small child. My parents weren’t too snap happy(how they raised a photographer, I’ll never know haha), plus in film photography- well only taking minimal shots was the thing of the time. I was completely ok with only a few pics... until I got married and thought about my own family. Now I have my own kids it’s worse still! I’d love to have some more history to p...ass on, or even comparison- do they look like me as a kid? It’s a huge part of why I’m proud of my profession. While I know our phone pics are great memories to have- I love that my job can help capture that history too- it’s the pro photos that makes sure we’re all in the shot (I’m looking at you Mums who we never see in photos), having a laugh and making memories. Even if you’re not a ‘photo person’- someone will be so grateful for those photos of you and that moment. It’s awesome:)

09.01.2022 Who saw the sunset tonight?! Ah-mazing. And a rainbow too

09.01.2022 Wedding details. For most couples- choosing your wedding styling and important pieces really just comes down to what you love. Or perhaps the location of where you are getting married might be an influence? Wes and Chantelle’s wedding often springs to kind as one that really captures what these two love, with a timeless feel and gorgeous styling. They were married on their own property- so the theme of let’s do what we love was strong for these guys. ... Stunning x

07.01.2022 Planning your wedding day. It can be overwhelming! Are you struggling at the moment for some inspo? Thinking you might be leaning toward something less traditional but not sure where to start? Or- you like the idea of incorporating some more personalised and unique things in but not sure what? As weddings evolve, traditions do too and we can see some fab little touches or even bigger things begin to change.... Perhaps it’s a custom designed dress and/or suit? No bridal party? What about a ‘first look’ (see each other before the ceremony)? Or a wedding on your own or family property? A destination wedding? Mixed or uneven bridal party (I prefer wedding crew or I do crew haha)? If I can be of any help it would be to suggest keeping your day about what is important to you both and less about what may be important to anyone else. It’s your day after all, your memories and your celebration:)

06.01.2022 Ari. This gorgeous boy is 2 today. We thought the time passed quickly with older brother Andy, but this guy is on warp speed it seems.... Happy birthday beautiful boy. You’re cheeky, clever, funny and determined- we adore you xx

06.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures in our lives. Wishing you all the big hugs- whether they are virtual or not, hope Dads everywhere feel how loved and appreciated they are. Lots of love xx

05.01.2022 Steph + Brett Woohoo!! 100 people allowed at weddings from 22.11.20!! Well done Vic. We did it. We’re on our way baby!!... Keep an eye on official government information regarding restrictions for the full details- this is great news for our couples who were hanging in there, fabulous news for all the planning couples too!! Xx

03.01.2022 Family This is one of my fave family photos of my crazy bunch- it’s a photo booth pic and is actually hanging on our fridge. A big part of why I love what I do is that I’m able to build a lifestyle and legacy that grants me time with these guys (or at least that’s the goal ).... It’s also synonymous with why I do what I do- I’m sure every working parent alive would agree that work/life balance can seem like some sort of far off utopia most days, but truly- this is the closest I’ve come and I’m grateful. It’s not perfect, we’re not perfect- but lucky nonetheless.

02.01.2022 Wes + Chantelle Nothing like a big old squeeze hey?! Sending all the hugs to my gorgeous couples past and present- the love and support shown is never unnoticed and so so so appreciated.... Special mention to my upcoming weddings and portraits- the uncertainty this year has brought has been next level- you are all doing such an amazing job of navigating this time and I am so excited to see your happy times when we can. Big virtual hugs for now xx

02.01.2022 To veil or not to veil? That is the question... Seriously though- I have been asked this a lot and from a photographers point of view- this is a hard call. I adore the natural interest having a veil can add to an image, when a breeze gets a hold of it for example- amazing! But- we’re not the ones wearing it haha.... For a lot of people it really finishes off the wedding attire, perhaps it feels unfinished without it? However- there are some fab alternatives to a veil and amazing hair styles too. Perhaps the decision really comes down to what you feel most comfortable in and less about tradition?

02.01.2022 Easton. This gorgeous boy is about the happiest little man you’ll ever meet. Had a lovely morning with this awesome family yesterday just before the rain set in- perfect:)... Need to book in some family portraits? I’ve got a sweet deal running right now, get in touch x
