25.01.2022 This is a great 2 minute article I read this morning! Have you asked yourself if you bank aligns to your values?

25.01.2022 Change your thinking and you will change yourself. Be careful of the thoughts that you are inviting in #loveyourself This quote resonated with me this morning. Have a great Sunday! #familytime #sundayfunday #buddah

25.01.2022 Have you ever wondered how you are going to fund your retirement? Or maybe it is not you that you are worried about; maybe its your parents. I had the privilege recently of meeting up with a leading expert in retirement funding, specifically focusing on Reverse Mortgages. Check out this article giving a basic overview of reverse mortgages and the benefits.

24.01.2022 Morning breakfast on behalf of the #rotary a blend of local Rotary clubs. Great opportunity to meet other local businesses and to hear from an Essendon legend Simon Madden.

24.01.2022 Interest rates have fallen off the cliff recently. Yesterday the RBA left the cash rate at 0.25% and the commentary suggests that rates are not going up anytime soon. AMP Chief Economist Shane Oliver, has suggested that interest rates are going to be on hold for the next 3 years!

24.01.2022 Since having our 2nd child, I have found the motivation for getting up early to run increasingly hard to find, mainly due to disrupted sleep and busy work life. I have been failing every morning for the last 6months (all bar 3) to get up and run. I felt like I needed something to give me a kick up the backside. So I have decided to permanently have a run booked in the diary with no more than 2 months between, starting with this 11km trail run in Bendigo in 1 month and 19 days! My most recent run was a week ago, 3kms and bent over double feeling like my chest was ready to explode. The training starts here. Wish me luck! #runningman #trailrunningaustralia #goldfields #bendigo #trainingstartshere

24.01.2022 In an unprecedented move, the RBA has dropped the cash rate by a further 0.25% more than 2 weeks before its scheduled meeting and a little over 2 weeks since the last rate drop. Here is a snippet of the RBA media release - At some point, the virus will be contained and the Australian economy will recover. In the interim, a priority for the Reserve Bank is to support jobs, incomes and businesses, so that when the health crisis recedes, the country is well placed to recover strongly. 24.01.2022 Good initiative. Our council are subsidising purchase of composting equipment. Check to see if your council are doing similar.

23.01.2022 I wasnt going to get a photo as I had no idea who Simon Madden was until today, and then he told me he was a #spurs fan! Were mates now. #Coys #simonmadden #rotaryclub

23.01.2022 This mornings #mooraboolshire business breakfast, looking at the growth of the shire and the role it plays in Victorias future. Great presentation by Bernard Salt who made famous the connection between millennials buying smashed avocados rather than saving for a house! His presentation was nothing but optimistic for our town, shire and state! Now it is up to us, the community and council to work together and make these ideas happen. And what a great venue! #financialrela...tionshipmanager #nomadicbroker #lovemyjob #helpingclients #hubandspokeapproach #networking #firsthome #newhome #property #realestate #westernsuburbsmelbourne #moorabool #bacchusmarsh @bernardsalt Business Growth & Innovation - Moorabool Shire See more

23.01.2022 Many councils including our Moorabool Shire Council, are struggling with recycling solutions. This means that much of what could be recycled is now going to landfill. There are things that we can do to help. Did you know that all ALDI Australia stores offer free battery recycling accepting AA, AAA, C, D and 9V sized batteries?... Did you know that selected Australia Post branches have printer cartridge recycling bins, including ours in Bacchus Marsh? Do you know of any other recycling services or tips that we can share to help reduce the landfill?

21.01.2022 Perception is everything! Thank you to the directors of @rateonefinancialservices for recognising my efforts in trying to find the 1 percenters to make my business different. I still feel that I have a long way to go and Im learning all the time. I couldnt do it without the support of RateOne, my fellow brokers, the BDMs, of course the business from my clients and most importantly my awesome wife Autumn! Love what I do, was not expecting this award tonight. #lovemyjob #rateone #meatandwineco #awardsnight #10yearanniversary #directorsaward

21.01.2022 I heard this today whilst watching Jerry Seinfeld. Although he was talking about comedians, I really resonated with this quote. Focus is a key element of success. We are surrounded by so much distraction these days that at times it can be hard to focus. A good reminder for me. #success #focus

20.01.2022 The Coronavirus is cited as the main reason that the RBA have reduced interest rates to a new record low of 0.5%. How much will your lender pass on? If you would like to read more about why the RBA have dropped the cash rate, check out the RBA media release here https://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2020/mr-20-06.html #recordlow #financialrelationshipmanager #melbourneproperty #melbournefinance #ratedrop

20.01.2022 Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Today we shine a light on suicide prevention. One person dies from suicide every 40 seconds around the world.... Men are 3x more likely to commit suicide. This is just a reminder to check on your friends, family, people you know who may be struggling. Most importantly of all, make sure to look after yourself and your mental health. Helpful resources Learn how to identify the signs that someone may be struggling on R U OKs website. #RUOK For pointers on how to start safe conversations around suicide check the #YouCanTalk campaign here. To get help 24/7, phone Lifeline on 13 11 14 or the Suicide Call Back Service on 1300 659 467. Help to report about suicide safely is available online: Go to www.mindframe.org.au

18.01.2022 If you are being financially affected by the current Covid-19 situation, reach out and I will do what I can to point you in the right direction. Here is an email I sent out to my clients yesterday with some useful contact points.

18.01.2022 PROTECTING YOUR CREDIT FILE The reality is were entering into a protracted period of financial challenges, the likes of which most of us have never seen before. We expect the banks and utility providers to be understanding and help those who are struggling to keep up with their bills due to fallout. However, the fact remains that in most cases they are within their rights to list a default on a borrowers credit file after an account is sixty days overdue, and just becaus...e perhaps they shouldnt doesnt mean they wont. What can you do about this? When a borrower contacts a credit provider about an account they are having trouble with, they will typically end up talking with someone from the financial hardship department and in most cases this person will work with the borrower to help them to get back on their feet. While the borrower continues to communicate with the creditor, and they are working towards the resolution of the problem account, it is very unlikely a default will be listed. The banks have already put several positive policies in place when it comes to helping their clients through what are very challenging times and Im sure they will continue to do so. See LINK below on further information on some available options right now. In short, if you find yourself unable to keep up with your loans get on the front foot and call the credit provider early. This will not only relieve some pressure as you wont be living in fear of what they might do, but it will most likely help to protect your credit file in the process. https://api.activepipe.com/campaigns/129349/preview

17.01.2022 250 years ago, Captain Cook arrived in the Pacific. But his arrival was not a welcome one by the locals. Click on this link for a really good interactive journey of his arrival, through to the first fleets arriving from England. https://cook250.netlify.app/

15.01.2022 Not a great day to be in the city! But it has given me the chance to sit still in-between appointments and re-connect with you. If you are saving for a rainy day (pun intended), then use those savings to reduce interest paid on your home loan! You could do this through your home loan redraw or an offset account. Bear in mind that everyone has individual circumstances, so if you want to work out the best approach to suit your needs, feel free to get in touch. #melbournecafe #nomadicbroker #financialrelationshipmanager #coffee #rainydays #needanumbrella

15.01.2022 HAPPY INTERNATIONAL TEA DAY! In Britain, a cup of tea is the answer to every problem. Fallen off your bicycle? Nice cup of tea. Your house has been destroyed by a meteorite? Nice cup of tea and a biscuit.... Your entire family has been eaten by a Tyrannosaurus Rex that has travelled through a space/time portal? Nice cup of tea and a piece of cake. Possibly a savoury option would be welcome here too, for example a Scotch egg or a sausage roll. David Walliams, Mr Stink See more

15.01.2022 The property market appears to be on the up with clearance rates hitting 77% this week, but the underlying economy is flat and lacking growth. Does that mean rates may continue to drop in a bid to stimulate spending, wage growth and inflation? 09.01.2022 Anyone that knows me well would know that I am regularly looking for ways to improve myself through self development, health and fitness. Those same people would also know that this journey is not consistent; Ive fallen off the running wagon more regularly than I would like to admit, committed to the 5 am club but fell one hour short for the last six months, and tried to meditate daily as part of my morning routine, but at best only completed this task three times a week. ...I aim to be more consistent with everything in life, but in the meantime I will remain consistent with being inconsistent! It is better to keep failing than to never try. There is one thing that for the last two years has been a constant in my life: green smoothies! This week for the first time in those two years I am trying a new recipe to reduce my carbohydrate intake (long story, but doctors orders). I have made a couple of adjustments adding in ginger and flax seeds and removing the protein powder but this smoothie is a WINNER! It is rich, filling, and refreshing! Why dont you try it yourself and let me know what you think? Its a great way to get those vital greens and essential fats into your diet. INGREDIENTS: handful / 15g kale handful / 10g fresh mint leaves, picked 1/2 avocado 1/4 / 50g fennel 1/4 small cucumber (100g) 1 tbsp protein powder unsweetened 1 cup / 240 ml almond milk unsweetened 1 tbsp almond butter 1/2 lemon, juiced

08.01.2022 I just received a fantastic email from Audible. They have released hundreds of titles for children which you can listen to for free! So if you are isolated and the kids need a break from the screen, give this a go. 05.01.2022 Well done Lexi Goulden for compiling this. If you are unsure about what you are entitled to in the stimulus package, have a read of The Number Factorys post and pdf for more info. Remember, things are changing very quickly at the moment, so stay close to your trusted advisors to stay up to date.

05.01.2022 With still many lenders yet to move on this weeks rate reduction, the big 4 banks have announced how much of the rate drop they are prepared to pass on. These reductions will help people with variable loans by reducing repayments, but have they done enough? Australias treasurer Josh Frydenberg has slammed the big 4 for failing to pass on all of the rate cut, a strategy used by the RBA to help stimulate the economy. #financialrelationshipmanager #nomadicbroker #lovemyjob... #helpingclients #hubandspokeapproach #networking #firsthome #newhome #property #realestate #westernsuburbsmelbourne #RBA #economicstimulus See more

03.01.2022 WOW! ...Rates drop for a third time this year. Read the RBAs full release here https://www.rba.gov.au/media-releases/2019/mr-19-27.html A quarter percent off the cash rate is great for borrowers, as long as the banks pass it on. We will see over the coming days who are the movers and shakers, and if your rate / repayments are affected.
