11.01.2022 Today I finally finished my little project of repainting an old electric of mine and taking it from an old cherry red color to Olympic White. My intention was to give it that classic Hendrix vibe which I think I managed to achieve. This project took me several weeks and involved completely taking apart the whole guitar and removing all the pickups and wiring (which I had never done before ). I then had to the strip off the old acrylic finish and previous paint job which se...emed to take forever Then the fun began with the painting (primer, Olympic white, clear coats), sanding, waxing and buffing, cleaning and leveling the fretboard, removing rust from all the parts and then finally putting it all back together and making it work. I’m happy to say the guitar looks and sounds better than ever (totally subjective of course). This project was a great challenge and I certainly learnt a ton in the process.
