24.01.2022 All tennis is back on as usual starting from tomorrow. That means all individual lessons are back at their regular timeslots, Cardio tennis is on from 7.30pm at McLaren Vale tennis club (please get in touch to confirm your spot!), Squad training is on (Thursday evenings) and Hot shots will be on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. It's going to be a busy and exciting term!

22.01.2022 The powers that be have deemed individual coaching and cardio tennis to be safe to resume. I'm afraid that means Hot Shots is cancelled this weekend again. I will be sending emails out to confirm this. See you all next week hopefully

19.01.2022 Another successful orange ball comp this morning with this awesome group. The standard is noticeably improving each week with some quality tennis on show for the Willunga Tennis Club president who kindly graced us with his presence!

18.01.2022 Unfortunately, it seems we are still not being permitted to coach tennis in South Australia under the latest directive. All coaching is cancelled tomorrow but fingers crossed some logic can be applied to the decision making process and we can be allowed back on court next week!

16.01.2022 Sonrise Clinics Day 3. Such was the big turnout for our red ball session, we had to use our photographer as another assistant coach. Fortunately, we were able to cope well enough with the other groups that Helen was able to take some top photos of them in action; including a cracker of our two legendary assistants, Jack and Oscar, who have given up their holiday time (and lie ins!) to volunteer for such a great cause.

12.01.2022 Congratulations to Jemyma Loke and Claire Painter who qualified to take part in the summer super 10s comp at Millwood. This competition brings together the best... 16 girls and boys in the state to compete in teams against each other for 4 Sundays in a row. So far the girls have acquitted themselves very well and are a credit to McLaren Vale tennis club. Good luck for the reminder of the short season, Jem and Claire! See more

We will be at Willunga high School at the following times: 9-9.40am - Red Ball 9.45-10.30am - Orange Ball... 10.45-12pm Orange Ball Competition. 07.01.2022 Great to have all 8 courts back in use today for our orange ball comp (thanks to Grahame Giles and Helen Fonfe for organizing the net replacements). It's terrific to see how much the standard has improved in only a few weeks. The tournament director learned his lesson from last week and made sure to arrange more suitable weather this time around!!

07.01.2022 Was great to get all the dads (and dad substitutes) to join their child out on court to celebrate Fathers dad with a fiercely competitive game of Champions and Challengers. Congratulations to Aluala and Josh and their dads on their wins and to all our players who made it such a fun morning!

05.01.2022 So proud of these three legends who finished their first season in the SDTA premier division tonight. The boys knew they would be up against it even before their two teammates succumbed to injury very early on in the season. Despite some tough losses, they always competed hard and have improved hugely as a result. Well played, Sam, Jack and Oscar. I'm looking forward to seeing you all have a proper crack at the comp next summer!

02.01.2022 Its time to get competitive (in a fun and relaxed environment!). If you have a son or daughter who is aged between 7-11 who is keen to get playing this summer then please get in touch. Last year we had 10 teams competing in what was a terrific local orange ball competition. All entries need to be in by the end of September. If you have a child who wishes to compete at a more advanced level, we have local teams to cater for all levels but entries for those teams are being submitted in one weeks time so you better be quick to be in touch!

01.01.2022 Exciting news for all members of Mclaren Vale Tennis Club. We have been awarded a $10,000 grant from the ANZ bank to build a hitting wall! In order to be considered for this grant the club was required to provide a written submission alongside a video outlining how the money would be put to use. 01.01.2022 It is a privilege to be involved in this event which has fast become my favourite working week of the year. It isn't really work when you get to coach such an outstanding group of players both and off the court alongside the great Bill Walter Tennis!
