14.01.2022 I was on my way to skate Stockton skatepark. When I turned into this street I ran into a familiar sight - Mayfield skatepark - and decided to stop to have a skate "on the way". I was feeling pretty good and in tune with things and I wanted to get a few ideas on camera. Shaun (who I met just there and then) was a real, friendly bloke and we talked about the Civic plaza, and it threw me off my plans to skate Stockton, so I went there afterwards instead. It was a bit windy anywa...y, one of the other blokes skating at Mayfield said "if it's windy here, it's windy at the other parks here too, usually." So, Civic was next on the hit list, and I went there. When I got there I saw a couple of familiar faces: Rowan Davis, and Adam Tabone (drop in and say hi to Adam at the Laate store sometime, he owns the shop, your skate goods and clothing will be sorted). Needless to say to anyone that knows of Rowan, he was shredding. Tabone was filming some of his other mates that I didn't know, and there was a few fellas sitting down watching from under a shady tree. I wanted to get a fakie heelflip at first, so I set up my tripod and proceeded to jump down the 3 set, avoiding jumping into people to the best of my ability. I was hesitant to skate at first, because I'm not the local in the situation and I had no idea who some of these people were, and no idea what to expect from the afternoon in this strange paradise. I didnt want to get in the way, and I didnt want to be a kook. I just wanted to skate freely. And they let me do that. The sounds of a couple of claps when I landed lit something inside of me I guess, and made me want to just keep trying. (I aim to please, because the world's a better place with "love"). This video shows everything I landed yesterday, it's very trick oriented (less lines and riding around), and I missed a couple of things that I started trying (switch hardflip, backside 360) and some ideas I didn’t even start to try (anything over the block + set, and the out ledge), but it's all love... enjoy.
