25.01.2022 Getting ready for the big day!

24.01.2022 PRESS RELEASE ADAMINABY GOLFERS TO DRESS UP FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH Who says that mountain men don’t have a soft and sensitive side? Some months ago local policeman, Matt Jacobs, challenged Adaminaby Golf Club to raise $1,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and declared, if the target was met, he’d wear a pink tu-tu and tube top to the next golf day on Saturday, September 14. The target has already been passed thanks to many generous contributions from local, reg...ional and other interested organizations. Other local identities, Heath Hayes and Dean Pinner, have also put up their hands to do likewise if more funds are raised and this pair should exude sex-appeal in a pink tu-tu and tube top. The day promises to offer a load of fun. The event is a 9 hole four-ball ambrose with all players teeing off at Noon with a shotgun start. There will be prizes galore for both skillful and lucky players with the major team prize being for a secret score. As always, kids are very welcome to come along and join in the festivities. According to one of the event’s organizers, Bill Faulkner, talent with a golf club is hardly a pre-requisite for the day but we do insist that players turn up with the intention of having a lot of fun. We are still to decide whether blokes wearing a tu-tu should be allowed at least one tee shot from the ladies markers in compensation for the many ribald comments that will undoubtedly come their way. Robert Oatley Wines will be offering wine tastings on the course and the Snow Goose Hotel’s Jolly Trolley will ensure players do not expire from dehydration during play. A sausage sizzle will greet the players from 11.00am and will continue throughout the day as players pass through the 9th hole. A post-game celebration and prize awards will be held at the Adaminaby Bowling Club at around 5.00pm. For more information contact Bill or Heather Faulkner on 6454 2494 or enter on your own or a team of four by calling the Snow Goose Hotel on 6454 2202.

20.01.2022 ADAMINABY GOLF CLUB’S AUTUMN MINI-BASH After a night of heavy rain, what could be better than a pleasant stroll around 6 holes of the world-renowned Adaminaby Golf Course with good mates and good cheer! On Saturday, 22nd April, a delightful day was had by some 35 serious golfers and a good number of helpers and spectators. ... A great sausage sizzle was on offer during the day courtesy of Masterchef, Eric Ozols, with capable assistance throughout the day from Phil Lowe and Chris MacDonald. Thanks to you all. Special thanks also go to Adaminaby Bowling Club the main sponsor of the day - and to the Bakehouse for once again supplying their fantastic bread for the occasion. Scratch winners of the day were Swingin Scott Banks, (French Professional) Paul Picaud, Jamie Tiger Young and Barry The Beast Gowen with a fine par round of 22. Secret score winners were Mick Connor, Matt Jacobs, Bob Piper and Tom Foley with Ron Weeks as the team cheer squad. Men’s nearest the pin was taken out by Casey Woodhouse with the Ladies’ won by Cheryl Wilson. Congratulations to all winners and we look forward to seeing you all again in September for the BIG day!!!!!!!

20.01.2022 Easter-fair-raffles-r-us! come and grab a ticket or ten for your chance at a mega seafood or meat tray.... Drawn 12.30(ish)and 2pm(ish)today- we're set up outside the Snow Goose Hotel

20.01.2022 Autumn Golf Day March 2013!

20.01.2022 Sorry folks, technical glitches resolved, and thanks to Wendy Guest, Spring Golf Day 2015 - Event Photographer, for these contributions!

19.01.2022 Funds target hit! We're now well into the next $1000, so yes, Heath Hayes is gearing up for that dramatic pink look as requested. Dean Pinner has already committed as well without waiting to be pushed. Look out for pink wigs to go with the tutus and tube tops. Might need to arrange a prize for the cutest looking bloke!

18.01.2022 View from the AGC clubhouse this morning..... The inclement weather resulted in a forced delay of necessary groundworks (lawn mowing!) and a 'reluctant' sleep in for the resident groundskeeper!

18.01.2022 THE GOLF YOU HAVE WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE A GOLF DAY Many players enjoyed "Goose Golf" although some required body parts to be removed from the swing arc and others were "flat out" enjoying themselves. Fun afternoon and congratulations to all the winners... John, Nic, Rick, Chun, Gilbo, Tom, Jan, Scott and the rest.

18.01.2022 Another wonderful day at the Adaminaby Easter Fair. And congratulations to all the Golf Club meat tray winners... Leisa Gowen, Barry Gowen, Peter McDonald, Rhonda Atkins,Tim Brayshaw, Boyo McMahon, Grant Thatcher and Jamie Young. Many thanks to the "small helpers" on the day. Hope we see you at the golf day next Saturday.

16.01.2022 Adaminaby Swingers Turn Out For Golf Absolutely perfect weather conditions greeted almost 100 players, volunteers and spectators on Saturday, September 12 at Adaminaby Golf Course for the Spring Opening Golf Day. 50 adult players registered for the 9 hole 4-ball Ambrose fun event with many local children joining them on the course. Other locals came along to volunteer their help on the day or to simply watch and enjoy the entertainment.... The crowd started gathering at 10.00am for a fantastic children’s golf clinic conducted by former Royal Sydney professional, James Learmont. More than 15 young ones enjoyed the expert tuition with a few older kids also seeking advice. Then a sausage sizzle and a cold drink or two, capably served by bar-person extraordinaire Carol McMahon, before the Noon tee-off. Kevin Burgess and Glenda Daal were the outstanding chefs of the day and the food was heartily enjoyed by all! The Snow Goose Hotel’s Jolly Trolley (superbly operated once again by Wayne O’Neill and Nicole McInerney) kept the competitors from dehydrating during the warm spring day and the Adaminaby Bowling & Sports Club hosted post-game celebrations. Secret score winners on the day were John & Cheryl Wilson, John Guest and Peter McDonald. Scratch score winners by the slimmest of margins were John & Matt Williams, Mark Fountain and Dean Lucas with a fine 3 under par 35. The long drive trophies were collected by Matt Williams and Kim Knowles with nearest the pin taken out by Darren Lucas. The golf trivia competition on the day was won by the google-champion team of Glen & Linda Squires and Tim Brayshaw. Target practice was taken out by Matt Jacobs with a bulls-eye! Congratulations to all winners. Many local businesses again supported the event with major sponsors on the day including the Adaminaby Bowling Club, Ampol Adaminaby, The Adaminaby Bakehouse, the Snow Goose Hotel & Motel and Hardy’s Wines. According to one of the event organizers, Bill Faulkner, this has been yet another good fun golf day with great weather playing a large part after a long, wet and brutal winter. We’ve had lots of course and facility improvements over the past 12 months and funds raised on the day will certainly go back into the course to continue its development.

15.01.2022 Raised over $2,500 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation!

15.01.2022 Ramping up business at the Goose!

15.01.2022 Helpers on the day....

15.01.2022 Everything under control (almost) and ready for tomorrow's royal adaminaby international!

14.01.2022 Over 50 players, 30 spectators and volunteers gave thanks to the weather gods and turned up for another cracking day of fun and frivolity! Great day (and night) had by all! Check out our photo album of the day....

14.01.2022 Work has started on course renovations. To be continued come Spring!! Many thanks to Rod Gilbert & Tim Brayshaw for bringing in the "big guns".

12.01.2022 Major course works continue over the winter months to provide an even more enjoyable and challenging venue for Adaminaby's infamous Spring golf day. The 2nd tee has been reconstructed and many other works are in progress. Royal Adaminaby will never have looked so good as it will in September. Jolly Trolley is booked and will be loaded with appropriate refreshments, sausages are ordered, fun times already planned and a great day is guaranteed for all!

11.01.2022 Parts of the course haven’t been touched for some time but it may be time to start before it’s all totally out of control. Where to start without a divorce!!

11.01.2022 Still irritated about the duelling pollies from last week's election? Come to the charity golf day and have a crack at Abbott and Rudd in our chipping comp.

11.01.2022 Come join the April mini-bash. Enter at the Bowlo or Snow Goose...

10.01.2022 Get along to the free golf clinic at 10.30am on Saturday, September 13 at Adaminaby Golf Club for kids under 18 years of age! Conducted by James Learmont former professional at Royal Sydney Golf Club.... Reserve a spot by Wednesday, September 10 by contacting Bill or Heather Faulkner on 6454 2494, e-mail [email protected], reply here on Facebook, or get your name on the list at the Snow Goose Hotel!

10.01.2022 Many thanks to Steve Mac for the firewood donation at Adaminaby’s Easter auction. Really helps to fund more trees (how big are they getting!!), new tees like the 2nd and construction of a new shed/clubhouse/b-b-q area. Now we just need a jigsaw-master to unravel the shed bits!! Royal Adaminaby Rules!!!

09.01.2022 Spring Golf Day Postponed With a waterlogged golf course and with more rain on the way, we have no option but to postpone the Spring Golf Day until better conditions prevail. Wet feet, soggy socks and muddy clubs we can handle but if the Jolly Trolley can’t tour the course to provide sustenance to those attending then we risk a bunch of revolting players and that’s just not acceptable! Possibly Saturday 15th October will be the new date unless you advise of weddings, birthdays, funerals or other festivities that might conflict.

08.01.2022 Big day tomorrow: the golf clubs getting a dusting off, glassware getting a spit and polish, the velvety green fairways getting their final haircut, the Goose's jolly trolley filling up with stock. Roll up, roll up, from 11am tomorrow for the great Autumn Golf Course fun day! 38 of you booked in, hundreds could turn up...

07.01.2022 And away we go!

02.01.2022 ADAMINABY WORLD GOLF MASTERS PRE-WINTER BASH May 15, 2016 -PRESS RELEASE- 140 hardy players braved gale force conditions on Sunday morning to tackle the challenging Royal Adaminaby Country Club Course. Adam Scott narrowly beat out Jason Day after a fine 4 under par 18 on the tough 6-hole course. Scott takes home the winner’s prize of $2million but says I probably won’t be back to defend the title as the sheep on the fairways really piss me off!... The main sponsor of the day, Con’s Big Fish Café, felt his $5,000,000 prize investment was well worthwhile as it would eventually bring food connoisseurs from all over the world to our small town for dining excellence. The Adaminaby Bakehouse provided the 1,500 loaves of bread for the day and Ampol Adaminaby supplied an iceberg of ice. Local amateurs also did well with the prizes. Nicola MacDonald picked up a return trip to London after her furthest from the pin effort on the tough 9th hole with a stunning 134.5 metres away on the 135 metre beast. Then Wayne Chun O’Neill took out the Mercedes prize for shortest tee shot with four attempts to get off the challenging 7th tee. In truth, thanks to the sponsors above a small field but good fun with locals taking home the major prizes
