25.01.2022 This is one of my favourite ballads. I did an improv at the end, which I dont usually do, and it made it way too long so I faded it out. I hope you enjoy my arrangement.

16.01.2022 This is for my mate Elliot Stevens and also Colin Mcintyre. The tune is Cisco by Pat Martino. The dude had to relearn guitar from scratch after he had an aneurysm and then amnesia. Forgot who he was and how to play. Hes really crook now, old and broke in a country with no health system support. If you care to, go to the gofundme page fans set up to help him pay his medical bills and stay living. Ill post the link below. Have a great day people!

15.01.2022 Next thing on my Calendar. Having a few nice weekends off. Although there are a couple of things in the offing. Hope I keep some weekends free. Love playing but some downtime and recharge is just whats needed. See you in April.

12.01.2022 Ok today I gave They Cant Take That Away a spin at at times it spun me back but I made it through! Filmed on the iPhone 11. Sounds ok through headphones but I havent compared to yesterdays recording of Stella by Starlight. They say theres no time like the present but being on holidays frees me up to play again so I say theres no present like time. Hope you enjoy.

11.01.2022 This snake doesnt know that it is mid-winter and that Rustbucket will be celebrating the coming of the warmer weather, the day after the solstice. Well be at the Royal Mail 4-7 Saturday 22 June. Well be madder than a cut snake. Venom slithering I strut my stuff......

10.01.2022 Great show last night with Kristian Jackson playing all the songs of Carole King in the show Tapestry. Great bunch of guys in the band and two great entertainers Suzy Leigh and Nicky Gillis leading the way.

10.01.2022 The ridiculously talented Ray Beadle last night at Bangalow Bowlo with the equally gifted Dave Sanders and Max Stowers on drums and bass. Great great show.

10.01.2022 The Royal Mail at Goodna is a legendary venue and we are so looking forward to playing the afternoon gig on Australia Day (Sat 26th 1-4pm). We have a bunch of ...new original tunes to debut but we'll also punch out some quirky, off the beaten track, Blues, Funk ,Rocky, Jazz Fusiony goodness. Steeped in character, this Cobb n co stopping point has been there since the 1860's and it is a marvel of a place. Soak up some Aussie history and some great Aussie Music with the awesome Massive Fergusons on after us til 7pm. Then if you're up to it, we're partying again at The Walrus Club from 9pm-1am. 'Twil be a day to remember. See more

08.01.2022 Hope we see you

06.01.2022 Hi everyone. In 2009 I recorded this solo fingerstyle guitar album 2 Head City and made a bunch of CD's with the help of a few friends. At the same time the CD manufacturer, doing me a favour, uploaded it to iTunes and other places (not too sure where) and I never really had control of it all. Well I finally have got around to getting it under control now so I'm letting you know that it exists and it's there. It's now on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, ...Pandora, Deezer, Tidal, Napster, iHeartRadio, ClaroMusica, Saavn, Anghami, KKBox, and MediaNet. There's a long story about buying vs streaming and the benefits/pitfalls for artists. Abridged version is: if u like it and you buy it the artist gets the $$ for the sale (mostly). If you stream it they get 0.03c each time and it takes thousands of plays to get the same back. Hard to see how small local indie releases could ever recoup any costs these days. Everyone i know has a streaming subscription to something. Anyway, I broke even with CD sales back in 2009 when dinosaurs still roamed the earth. If you have a listen and like it please let me know. Cheers.

06.01.2022 Happy to say Ill be playing guitar for this show with some fine musos from Sydney- in particular my dear friend Kristian Jackson. Nicky Gillis, one of Australias finest vocalists leads us through 2 sets of glorious tunes from the most successful female songwriter of the 20th century, Carole King. 1st set- all the hits she wrote for others. 2nd set - the landmark album Tapestry. Such great music, a joy to play. Dont miss out. Cheers

06.01.2022 Random request granted last song

06.01.2022 Hey folks. Just started a new trio with my brother Matt. Its called the Tritones. Its Rockabilly, Blues , Alt country and early rock stuff plus the odd mainstream tune twisted a bit. If you haven't given it a like yet please do. Cheers https://www.facebook.com/The-Tritones-108881593806877/

06.01.2022 Royal Mail hotel Goodna with Rustbucket. Good Times.

05.01.2022 Here’s a tune by my inspiration Martin Taylor MBE. It’s called the Fair Haired Child. I dedicate this to David Hobbs so he can mock me for my pathetic attempt at false harmonics at the end. I need to get an acrylic thumbnail cos I ain’t no chance of growing one.

03.01.2022 Ok last one for today. This is for anyone whos been in isolation and away from their partner. The words are as beautiful as the tune so look them up if you dont know them. This is The Nearness of You by Hoagy Carmichael - a fave of mine for sure.

03.01.2022 SHARE THIS POST TO WIN Share this post to your FB feed and you will go into the draw to win 2 free tickets to Friday 31st Jan gig! Winner will be drawn t...his Thursday evening. Good Luck As the name implies, this band is a tribute to one of the greatest improvisers and composers in the history of mainstream jazz - Vibraphonist Milt Jackson aka "Bags". Modelled on the instrumentation of that great band, "Bags of Groove", featuring Gold Coast jazz luminaries Glen Shepherd on piano and Val Jones on the upright bass, are joined by Richie Seymour on the drums and Dave Kemp on the Vibraphone. Rounding out the band is special guest Catharina Kemp on Saxophone. This group presents an entertaining night steeped in jazz tradition, with hard swinging solos and blues infused melodies.
