17.01.2022 Here is a little (very complicated) modification. I replaced the 2 posts with nice timber ones and added a remote gate with solar power and a visitor button. This job was quoted by a gate company for $2700!!!! I did it for $1200. Saved $1500.

16.01.2022 These rustic timber gates were once the floor of an old train. Believed to be over 100 years old they are VERY HEAVY! They still have old bolts and tie down brackets from where cargo would have been strapped to the floors. Now they create an awesome farm gate at Hillock Downs Produce in Rye.

02.01.2022 What’s that saying about a tradesman own place never gets done? Well here is my deck. Before, during and after. Massive job. First is the prep. Using intergrain Reviva I scrubbed the deck using a hard brush applying the solution. Wait 15-20 minutes then remove with the high pressure washer. It removes the old sealer and brings the timber back to a clean raw state. Then after it’s dry apply 2 coats of Cabot’s deck sealer in Merbau colour. I think this deck hadn’t been maintained in 10 years so a 3 coat will be good but that will happen after Christmas .
