25.01.2022 So now that I have done my first DIY how to video, what would you like to see next? How to connect a washing machine, cleaning your reverse cycle air conditioner or clearing a blocked drain. Let me know in the comments below what DIY job you would like to know how to do.

24.01.2022 As of Wednesday masks will be mandatory when leaving your home, that also implies wearing a mask at work (especially if you work in retail). It may be hard for some but this is what it has come to. Ive started wearing a mask when doing any inside job and will now need to wear one when doing any work. I hope that everyone can comply with wearing a mask outside of your home. If we all stay safe and wear a mask outside of home we can shorten the lockdown.... Lets all practice good health and safety, wear a mask when outside your home, sanitise your hands before entering any shop, restaurant or cafe and wash your hands with soap and water when you can.

24.01.2022 https://youtu.be/jRAxINYBGtU A nice little repair I did to fix a tight front door where the door frame had moved causing the door hard to close and needing to be slammed. It also caused a gap to appear at the bottom of the door letting in a lot of cold air and the heat out. I was able to shave a little of the top of the door to make it easy to close and lock and a automatic weather seal on the bottom of the door to close the gap.... This makes the door safer and easier to close and lock, making your home more secure. It also makes your heating work less to keep your home warm and less waste of energy. If you have any problems with your front door just give me a buzz. PH: 0419 393 179 @: [email protected] Or simply message me here.

24.01.2022 Two new community cupboards installed at the Annie Borat Community Cupboards site today. Nice new cupboards to expand their community food cupboard and games/craft cupboard.

23.01.2022 Hi all, as I've been so busy I've filled my available slots for the remainder of the year and some of January, so jobs will need to be done in mid/late Jan. I hope I've gotten back to all my clients that have accepted my quote, but if not feel free to send me a message to remind me and I will have it booked in. 23.01.2022 Last night I added a new covid 19 elearning to my learning. This is a more in-depth elearning then the last one and is aimed more at the workplace and will help me be safe when working in your home. This elearning is aimed at how to control the spread of the covid 19 virus in a workplace (your home) and minimise the spread around it. It has confirmed that my wearing of a mask, sanitising/washing my hands before entering your home and sanitising the hard surfaces I touch or pu...t my tools on. This is the best way to keep the spread of covid 19 down to a minimum and minimise the spread to your home and family. With this elearning, you can be sure that Im taking all possible measures to keep myself and you and your family safe from minimising the spread of any covid 19 germs into your home. It gives me more relief knowing that what Im already doing is what is the best thing to do. Its also a relief knowing that what Im doing is protecting your family from potential covid 19 germs. If you need to book Adams Handy Hands knowing that I will take all precautions to keep any potention spread of germs out of your home then give me a call, text, email or FB message. PH: 0419 393 179 @: [email protected] or simply message me here.

22.01.2022 Im still open and working, I can do essential or urgent work only during the stage 4 restrictions. I have heard of some tradies doing work that doesnt seen essential or urgent to me or follow the guidelines on the DHHS website https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/construction-restrictions-covid The DHHS websites states that only critical repairs to residential premises are allowed, where required for emergency or safety. This also means that if a job can wait it should, you can st...ill communicate with your tradie to get a quote and discuss the work to be done so once the restrictions are over they can get started. There are also some industries that have had to stop all work during the stage 4 restrictions, like gardeners and landscape gardeners, but Im sure they would still like to hear from you to organise a quote. Ive quoted and postponed many jobs till after the restrictions are over. If you you need anything repaired, installed or mounted feel free to send me a message, I can still quote and like to know that once the restrictions are over I still have some work to go on with.

21.01.2022 Still covid symptom free, no high temp.

21.01.2022 What a great thing to see after a good days work and during these tough stage 4 restrictions. Its lice to be appreciated for all the hard work I do to get jobs done to perfection.

21.01.2022 With the possibility of stage 4 restrictions being introduced it would mean a lot more business would have to close, there would be a lot of employees without work. Your favorite local cafe/restaurant may be forced to close for good, you may be forced to get centerlink payments because your employer was forced to close, and as a local small handyman business I will be forced to close, lose 100% of my income and I dont want it to have to come to that. So I would like everyone... to do there bit to stay safe and healthy. Wash your hands whenever you go to the toilet (as you should but I hear many just walk out), if you have been out to the shops then wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water when you get home or back to work. Always sanitise your hands after you leave the shops, minimising the spread of potential germs. And please keep to the 1.5m social distancing. Also it is highly advised to wear a mask when out and you cant guarantee a 1.5m social distance from others. The shops are not a place for socialising, its not the place to be chatting to your friends, do that on the phone or via zoom. The more time you spend chatting to your friends while out (especially at the shops) the more you expose yourself and others to potential germs. You also lengthen the weight time for people who just want to get the essential items from the supermarket, some people just want to be in and out. If we all keep our outings to a minimum and essential outings, then we can avoid stage 4 lockdown and hopefully shorten our current situation. I would like to be able to go to my local restaurant/cafe and sit down for a meal, be able to do some shopping that isnt essential and hopefully go see a movie. All the employees working for Village/Hoyts have been without work since the first lockdown around early March/April. And can all business keep to the government restrictions on how many people can be in their building at one time. Also dont head out to Bunnings/Spotlight etc for non essential items, Ive seen many people purchasing plants, terracotta pots and items that hardly look essential, and please stick to the 4 people per isle at Bunnings stores, dont waste time talking to a friend in an isle as people that need essential items are forced to waste time waiting for you to finish your chit chat to get what they need for the work. Feel free to share this far and wide so we all learn what simple things we can do to keep safe and dont end up going into stage 4 lockdown.

21.01.2022 As we have moved further out of covid lockdown I'm getting more requests for work. I'm booked out until mid December with a couple of jobs still to book in. So if you require quality work done then please be patient as it may take a few weeks to get to the job. I'm only a 1 man crew and do all the work myself so I can control the quality of the work. So feel free to message, email or text me for a quote. I still have time to send you a quote, but it may be a few weeks before ...I can get it done to the quality I strive to. 18.01.2022 https://youtu.be/kj69qeLf6uU My new video on cleaning your reverse cycle air-conditioner filter. This should be done at least once a year so it runs smoothly. If you dont feel like you could accomplish this then just give me a call and I can get it cleaned for you.... PH: 0419393179 @: [email protected] or simply message me here.

18.01.2022 Hi, all and thanks for doing your little bit to help keep the community safe. We are half way there to getting back to some normality, so keep up the good work in keeping the community safe. Its been tough limiting what I can do, but Im still here for essential/urgent jobs and quotes for jobs to get back to when the restrictions are over. We can get through these next few weeks of restrictions, so please keep doing your bit to keep the community safe so we can return to som...e normality. 18.01.2022 With all the wild weather we had last night, a clients tiles had shifted and 4 had almost blown completely off their roof. I was able to do an emergency call out to sort it out and have them back securely in place. With this wild weather we had its best to check your property for any damage or anything that has shifted. If youre afraid of heights or dont have a ladder I can check your roof if you think there has been any damage. PH: 0419 393 179... @: [email protected] Or simply message me here See more

18.01.2022 Thanks to all my clients that have and are doing the right thing by wearing a mask and keeping to the 1.5m social distancing. It means that youre not only protecting yourself and me, but your family, my family and everyone I pass on the street and every other client I see. I just wish everyone would be do iing their bit to slow the curve. You need to stay home if youve had a covid 19 test untill you recieve the results and if confirmed you need to isolate for at least 2 wee...ks. To many people have gone back to work after being confirmed having covid 19. Their not only spreading it to their colleagues but their colleagues families, the people their colleagues pass on the street or pass at the supermarket. Dont just think about yourself and your family, think about the people you pass on the street, at the supermarket and at work and their families and the people they pass every day. By not isolating when you have potential covid 19 germs your are potentially passing it onto everyone you pass in a day and the people they pass. The 2 people you may pass on your daily/weekly walk or shopping have families, pass others and if you add all those people up it could be up to 10 people that you have potentially exposed to covid 19. I have some clients with a low immune system that I do some work for and I dont want to be telling them that I have been exposed to someone with covid 19 or symptoms because they werent issolating as they were meant to. It could be fatal for them and I dont want that on my conscience. So please do the right thing and stay home after your cocid 19 test until you get your results and issolate if yuou have a positive test.

17.01.2022 Hi all, as of midnight on Wednesday I will be in stage 4 lockdown, this means I will only be able to do essential/urgent work and need to have a Permitted Worker Permit with me when heading out to do your essential work. All I will require from you is for 2 signatures as the employer and a contact number. I will have the rest pre filled out, this needs to be signed, dated and sent back to me at least a day before the scheduled work is to commence so I have time to get it prin...ted. If this permit isnt filled out in time I will be unable to perform the work as I risk high fines. Thank you all for understanding during these difficult times and I will still be available to quote your job in preperation for the restrictions to ease. I will also be available for essential deliveries/pickups of medication and groceries. PH: 0419 393 179 @: [email protected] Or simply message me here

16.01.2022 During the stage 4 restrictions I thought it would be good to do some short videos on basic home maintenance. Here is the first in a series of videos to come. This video will go through how to adjust the hinges on a cabinet/cupboard door to get them to line up correctly. Hope you enjoy the video... https://youtu.be/tbECURIZilc If your still not confident then feel free to call, message or email me. Ph: 0419 393 179 @: [email protected] Or simply message me here.

16.01.2022 Ive heard that staff at some nursing homes have complained about not getting masks and gloves before this week. They didnt think it was necessary to have all staff wear them. Now that the government has made it mandatory, the nursing homes have had to implement it. With most of the outbreaks comming from nursing homes why didnt they implement it way sooner, its not like their caring for vulnerable people. As a small business that doesnt have nearly as strict a health and... safety protocol I implemented mask on jobs well before the government made it mandatory. Ive even gone above and beyond to do some online learning and a Deakin elearning on covid-19. I even go as far as to sanatise all hard surfaces I touch. If a small business can do all this, then maybe the nursing homes should take a look at their health and safety procedures and implement some better covid-19 controlls.

16.01.2022 As of today 14th September Im still covid symptom free with a temp of 36.8 degrees.

16.01.2022 With the new statement from the government saying that they would like everyone to wear a mask when at places where social distancing isnt easy (cafes, restaurants, supermarkets etc) I have now implemented a new rule that Adams Handy Hands will wear a mask for every inside job and the client will maintain 1.5m social distancing where possible. I will also be sanitising and whiping down all hard surfaces I touch and where I put my tools down. If the client has any virus (do...esnt have to be covid) no matter how minor can you please wear a mask when Im present doing the work. This is for both our safety and please maintain a 1.5m distance where possible. If this isnt adhered to Adams Handy Hands can refuse to do the work and can leave mid job. I understand some kids dont fully understand these challenging times so please do your best to keep them away from the work area. This is all in place so that we can all keep safe and not have to self isolate away from our family. If a tradies comming to your place for work and refuses to wear a mask or doesnt maintain a 1.5m safe distance they shouldnt be there. Their not ontop of their health and safety and not making sure their not potentionally spreading a virus into your home. Thanks for taking the time to watch my video and hope you all keep safe and practice social distancing, stay at home unless necessary to go out and wear a mask in places where social distancing isnt easy. PH: 0419 393 179 @: [email protected] Or simple message me here. https://youtu.be/icH2J8N82zA

16.01.2022 With these new restrictions in place as of 8pm yesterday I will be implementing and being stricter on my own rules. As I have been doing for weeks before the government restrictions, I will be wearing a mask at all times while working at your property unless it impedes what Im doing or need to take it off for a short period as I have mild bronchitis and can find it hard to breath with one on for lond periods. But I will wear it when around you or your family, showing I care ...about the health and safety of you and your family. I do have a slight cough due to my bronchitis and has nothing to do with covid-19. I would like you to wear a mask when near me or showing me the job, it is a courtesy and youre not only protecting yourself and me, but your family and my family. It shows that you care about me and my family. If you have had any symptoms, come into contact with anyone with symptoms or have had a test and havent got your results back yet then the job can wait. I would like every client to be truthful with me as I will be truthful with you. If we all stick to the new government restrictions we can end this lockdown and go back to some normality. I will still be working as of now, just waiting on the new restrictions for business and hope to be able to keep working. Feel free to contact me if you need anything fixed, assembled or hung. PH: 0419 393 179 @: [email protected] Or simply message me here

15.01.2022 With the victorian government making the steps to reducing restrictions and going back to some normality on Sunday we should really be doing out best to keep the covid numbers down. Wear a mask properly, covering your mouth and nose and not just wear it partially over your mouth just because you have to wear one. Whenever youre out of your home please wear a mask and remember to keep to the 1.5m social distancing. The majority of us not on the front line should be using a fa...bric mask to avoid filling the landfill with single use masks. The blue medical and N95 masks should only be used once and for a max of 4hrs. If you are breathing a lot and you find it becomes moist then it needs to be changed. These masks CAN NOT be washed or cleaned, even with hand sanitiser or glen 20. Once they have been used they are done and should be thrown away. They should be kept for the front line medical staff that need to change them regulary. A fabric mask can be washed and should be washed straight after use and if you find it is getting moist then its time to change. Straight after use it should be washed or soaked in hot water with washing powder or liquid to kill the germs. If you are going to be out for more then 4 hours then have a spare mask just in case your mask gets moist. Also you should be handwashing/sanatising frequently. When you can, wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds (2 rounds of happy birthday), but if no soap and water is available then a hand sanatiser with at least 70% alcohol is the next best option. Please sanatise your hands before entering any supermarket, pharmacy or cafe so you limit the spread of any germs. Also, if a restaurant, cafe, supermarket or pharmacy has any sign in procedure please sign in, it not only protects you and your family, but everyone you pass and their family. Doing all this can not only protect you and your family, but the people you pass on the street, out shopping or while getting your food and their families. On your walk you may only pass 3 people, they will may pass 3 people and those 6 people have families they want to protect. Those 3 people pass 3 people each, which equals 12 people, then their families which could equil up to 48 people you are potentially protecting. Just imagine the person closest to you in hospital on a respirator to survive where you cant visit them. It could be their last few days and you cant be there to see them. So doing your bit helps everyone keep their loved ones safe.

15.01.2022 My wife just shared this. It might be useful for you and your family too.

15.01.2022 The Premier has advised people to wear masks in Melbourne. My wife has lots of masks on rotation - colourful of course. She has made a list of where to get masks, and how to sew your own here

13.01.2022 As I've been getting busier and more people are wanting quality work done I'm almost fully booked for the year. I have some time for small jobs, but that is it. Between 2 weekends away and a short break over Xmas and New Year I will now be booking jobs for early January. If you don't mind waiting for quality work then send me a message for a quote, I can still give you a quote. Thanks for understanding.... 13.01.2022 What a weird request. Today I mounted 2 deer heads in a tight stairwell, the attachment points were not centered between the antlers so the hooks had to be off centre between the walls. It was a lot of calculations and checking my numbers to get them to sit right. In the end I think they turned out quite well.

13.01.2022 https://youtu.be/yfZZqXU8kl8 I had a water leak coming from my washing machine and while I waited for the part to arrive (could be up to 6 weeks) I decided to do a temporary fix so we could still do small loads of washing. Its not a permanent solution but will do until the part comes in. If you have any leaks coming from your washing machine and dont have the confidence to sort it yourself then feel free to give me a call, I can find the leak and replace the offending part.... #washingmachine #washingmachineleak #waterleak PH: 0419 393 179 @: [email protected] Web: www.adamshandyhands.com.au or simply message me here

12.01.2022 Just picked up a new thermometer, a 21st century non contact infrared thermometer. This will be added to my covid safe plan, checking my temp before I head out for a job, making sure I dont have a temp and my temp is in the green. It will let you know that Im safe a unlikely to spread any germs.

12.01.2022 Is your gate hard to close due to the natural movement over tjme. Well I can install a latch that would work for 10+ years or until your fence/gate moves to much. It has inbuilt adjustment, allowing the catch to drop and rise with the movement of the gate. Or does your deck have a gap under it allowing your pets to hide under it. I can add a nice border around it to keep your pets from crawling under it. It adds a nice border around your deck, not only stopping pets/animals f...rom getting underneath, but stops your kids putting toys under it making them hard to get to. 12.01.2022 Here is a blog post I did about my learning, types of masks and the proper way to wear them. http://adamshandyhands.blogspot.com//covid-19-and-basics-o Can we all please wear your mask properly so we can all stay safe, it may not be you that will get any symptoms but could still have covid-19 and wearing a mask is one way you can show that you dont want to spread anything you may have.

11.01.2022 The next video in the line up of DIY videos by Adams Handy Hands. This one goes through the basics of clearing a blocked drain, from boiling water, dish washing liquid, plunger and draino crystals. https://youtu.be/5LiZptftrR4

11.01.2022 As you stay home during this lockdown and notice all the things you need fixed why not get Adams Handy Hands to tackle your list. As you may know I can do a wide range of jobs, from assembling flat pack furniture, plaster repairs, door installs and more. I sanitise my hands before starting the work so I dont transfer any germs to your place and will be wearing a mask while doing all inside work. I also have some non-rinse sanitiser that will be used on all hard surfaces I t...ouch or lay my tools on (and is proven effective against coronavirus). With all this health and safety you can be sure Im taking all precautions to keep the germs away from your place. 09.01.2022 Did a job on the weekend for a regular client, their son uses a ventilator is highly susceptible to airborne viruses like covid 19. I wore a mask when inside their home and use my non-rinse sanitiser to sanitise any surface I touched. They trusted me to come into their home while taking all cate to not spread any covid 19 germs. Its imperative that as a small business owner I dont have to issolate and we dont end up going into stage 4 restrictions. So if you require a hand...yman that will take all care minimising the transmition of any covid 19 germs then look no further. I have 3 levels of masks to protect myself and be able to complete urgent jobs. In the picture I have a basic neck tube which offers basic cover, I also have some painters dust masks and a high end spray painters mask which will protect myself against the smallest particles. 05.01.2022 According to the latest Dan Andrews press conference I will be able to get back to full work with no restrictions. 05.01.2022 With all the FB posts of people knocking on doors pretending to be someone their not, trying to gain access to your home, have you thought about adding a security screen door to your home. All the screen doors I use are 316 marine grade stainless steel and powder coated for a tough durable finish. They come with a tripple latch for security and I use extra long screws to the frame of your home. They are one of the strongest screen doors on the market and great for adding that... extra protection to your home. They are made so you can see who is at your door while keeping your family safe. It can also be used to allow a cool breaze through your home on a hot day, or to just freshen up your home. Feel free to call, text, email or message for a quote. 05.01.2022 With metro Victoria on lockdown and everyone getting more deliveries Adams Handy Hands has done the research on how to safely minimise the spread of covid-19. Adams Handy Hands has decided to take this knowledge to help others. If you have had any hard furniture (table, chairs, shelving units) delivered or assembled by others then I can do a thorough sanitisation for your piece of mind. This non-rinse sanitiser is proven effective against Coronovirus and Staphylococcus aure...us. Along with being designed to combat fungi, mould, yeast and algae. This service will make sure that whatever anyone might have tracked into your home is eradicated. This service isnt guaranteed to kill 100% of germs and bugs but will give you some piece of mind. Feel free to call, message or email for a sanitisation of your hard surfaces. PH: 0419 393 179 @: [email protected] or simply message me here.

05.01.2022 How do you go about replacing your bath surround that has rotted to the point of almost falling apart? Well, here at Adams Handy Hands I was called upon to replace this bath surround that was made from particleboard. That is the last sort of timber I would have used and will never use it. I cut out the wet and rotten particleboard (which almost fell apart) and replaced it with some nice structural plywood. This has at least 10 times the strength and will be so much more dura...ble. The client will be painting it in the coming days and I advised them on the best paint to use and to make sure it is mould resistant to help seal the timber. If your timber bath surround has seen better days then no better time to get it replaced. PH: 0419 393 179 @: [email protected] www.adamshandyhands.com.au or simply message me here

03.01.2022 With stage 4 restrictions upon us and almost every business having to shut the doors for at least 6 weeks, we need to stay strong and get through this. Adams Handy Hands has you covered for essential jobs. There are many jobs I can do and will still be able to quote your job to get done after the restrictions are lifted. Some of the essential jobs are.... * Change tap washers/tap handles * Service your bicycle (for essential workers) * Change your seal on your fridge or washing machine There is a new service I will be adding to any essential worker on the front line. I will be able to sanitise your frequently touched surfaces, sanitise your steering wheel, gear stick and seat of your vehicle that you get into after your work day. I can also sanitise your front door, keeping the possibility of germs from entering your home. This new service is for the essential workers on the front line, doctors and pharmacists who would be exposed to a range of germs. I use a non-rinse sanitiser for all hard surfaces and a spray sanitiser for any soft surfaces, they are both proven effective against corona virus. 03.01.2022 A great video going through the swap of a mixer tap in a caravan. I swapped this over to a mixer tap with a filter, so you can get filtered drinking water. https://youtu.be/0QwmWmuYEWw

02.01.2022 Just a friendly reminder that face masks/coverings are mandatory when outside your home/own vehicle at all times. I understand that some with different medical conditions cant wear a mask for long periods but please wear a mask when you cant social distance (like at the supermarket, pharmacy and other essential shops). As I have been doing for the past few weeks I will still be wearing a mask for all jobs and now whenever Im outside my home. If Im working inside your home... it will be up to you whether you wear a mask or not, but if outside please wear a mask. You do not need to wear a mask if you are in your own vehicle, either by yourself or with your family, but if you share a ride to work with a co-worker you will both need to wear a mask. Please keep up to date on when and where you need to wear a mask so you dont end up with a $200 on the spot fine.

02.01.2022 Adding some more covid 19 training to my knowledge. This is some great occupational covid 19 workplace training that may be helpful to many business. Although I dont need to do this training I thought it would be good to gain the extra knowledge so I can take all precautions when out working at your place. It will give me a better knowledge on covid 19 and the precautions to keep myself and others safe (especially when working in your home) Here is the link if you would like to complete the online training yourself. It only costs $29.95, a small cost to help give me better knowledge on covid 19. https://training.deakinco.com/courses/covid-19/

01.01.2022 To all my current/future clients, Im still available for quotes, I can quote your jobs in preperation for the resteictions to ease. I can also do essential/urgent jobs during these restrictions. Dont just think about the handyman jobs I can do, I can also pickup your medication and click and collect items. Unlike the delivery company, I sanitise my hands and vehicle before picking up your goods and make sure I minimise the transfer of any germs. Also keep an eye on this spa...ce as I will be posting some tips and tricks on basic home repairs you can tackle while we are in stage 4 restrictions. Feel free to comment below on little things youd like to know how to fix yourself. From capboard door hinges, tap washers, carpet marks from furniture and more. 01.01.2022 As of today Im still covid symptom free and have done my temp check.
