23.01.2022 (Sound on ) We were excited to shoot a Branding Portrait Session with Jenny Zwemer Paleo Chef, Head Chef at the newly opened Oceans Retreat in Casuarina. Jenny enjoyed being pampered with professional hair & makeup by Sam Darnley-Stuart. Once Jenny was completely comfortable, her shoot began and we all had a lot of fun while Jenny was in her element cooking up a feast. Oh and her food is delicious and very healthy! After wrapping up a branding shoot with a client in a cafe, I watched Kenny, the chef, walking through the Black Oak Casuarina with an immaculately prepared slider (mini-burger) for a customer. Impressed by how he carried himself and the pride in his work I just HAD to meet him and photograph hi...m. With just 3 mins inside his kitchen we came up with this. 17.01.2022 (Sideways on phone ) Denise asked to have new branding photos for her new coaching website. We chatted about the look & feel she hoped people would have and how she wanted them to feel about her brand. Denise wanted her experience to shine and be seen as personable, engaging and fun with a hint of business. It was a great shoot and after her hair & makeup was perfected by Sam Darnley-Stuart, Denise relaxed into her photoshoot. 17.01.2022 Damien Rider wanted just 1 portrait. He knew exactly how it needed to look and so he came to me. Damien is Oceans Retreat founder and program co-ordinator in Casuarina. In order to acheive a precise commissioned photograph, it takes communication and understanding of the final use of the portrait as well as an intricate knowledge of the tools at your disposal to reach that look. Damien showed me reference material and we steadily built the shot together until it was spot on. As it is part of a bigger project, I'll have to wait until that is released before sharing that 1 shot with you. In the meanwhile, I'm glad to have had the opportunity to help out. We’ve joined the surfclub, and have enjoyed meeting local families, businesses and groups over the summer. 11.01.2022 A Family Far from Home: Visiting Australia from faraway Sweden, this small family wanted a way to remember their holiday as well as have portraits they'd be proud to frame and display in their family home. It became clear in our discussions, they value their family and their memories together and so would not settle for "a few cheap family snaps by the beach". When I understood they valued quality in photography and were not after a soon to be forgotten USB brimming with phot...os... only then I said Yes. "We want photos to display on our wall." We booked in an afternoon together and I suggested they wear clothes they really like and yet are comfortable in - "forget your shoes, we'll be on the sand and maybe in the water..." Knowing their little guy is under 2 years old I basically threw out my plan and took the "roll with what we can get - while he is still smiley" approach. The cloud speckled afternoon turned into a beautiful sunset where we took advantage of the beautiful scenery we have here in Kingscliff. We wrapped it up soon after the sun set as the evening chill set in. On the day of their photo reveal and ordering session they were excited. I'd only managed to show one photo where there was a gasp... "That's going on our wall!!!!!". What followed next just blew me away. Watching their personal family portraits being unveiled to beautiful music brought the couple of tears. A turbulent ocean frozen in time as this beautiful family strolled the beach I call home, clearly in love, clearly at peace... I fought back my own tears seeing how much this meant to them, and I was a part of this moment for them. I know my photos are designed & captured to move you, beyond the endless stream of social media, past the filters we see every day, over the soon-forgotten "like/heart" or the discarded USB. Each reveal session often ends in hugs, drying tears and a form of relief that "we did it!" I'm honoured they chose me as their photographer and I look forward to their prints arriving to their home and being mounted on their wall. 05.01.2022 Cleaning my camera sensors saves me a lot of time in the post production or editing part of preparing your photos. There can be a fair bit of behind-the-scenes preparation, education and experimenting to allow me to step up for your portraits or your family photos and things to go right on the spot. I know my clients appreciate the end result and so makes all the preparation worth it!

03.01.2022 Thank you everyone who is supporting me. We are now at 500 Likes which is a lovely milestone! Since moving to Kingscliff, it has been a process of setting up again and getting out into the community to know how to best serve my local area. The people I've met here have been so supportive of our family, my business and appreciating photography beyond 100 photos on a CD which gets left in the draw, or quickly thrown up on facebook to be forgotten after a couple of likes. I'm pr...oud to provide full service photography with hair & makeup, styling and a photo session with posing guidance. This allows people to look & feel their best and gives us wonderful photos we create together. For me, the best part is when people see their vibrant prints for the first time and get to take home their favourites to proudly share and display for the years ahead. 02.01.2022 LOCAL COLLABORATION:: This past week was busy - photographing at the Australian Longboard Surfing Open and the Chinderah Chilli Festival 3/3/18. They were some great projects I've had since we relocated from Coogee to Kingscliff 4 months ago and I became involved within the week. I knew there would be a great opportunity to show folk I specialise in helping Individuals & Families with compelling Portraits, as well as creating Headshots & Branding photos for business of all s...izes. With days to spare, I was able to connect with Spotty at our local Kingscliff Surf Shop to source some blank quality shirts I could use to print my business logo/brand on. Spotty was very easy to work with and had a great range to choose from. He even found my sunnies I'd lost somewhere in the changerooms or racks in the store. Thanks mate! For the printing side of it, Tim at North Shore Screenprinting in West Burleigh, went above and beyond to make sure we had the best quality and have them printed in time. I was blown away by the printing and Tim was very professional. I'm feeling lucky to connect with and support local businesses as we are all in this together to improve the lives of our clients & community - one day at a time, and one job at a time. I'd say the final result was out of this world!

02.01.2022 Reflecting back on our 2018 experience ... it is a direct result of our Planning, our Actions and how we Responded to what life presented for us. Good? Bad? Frustrating? Disappointing? Meh? How are your plans for 2019?... What actions have you prepared to take to move you closer to your values and goals? Does your mindset allow you to proactively embrace what life presents? Do you allow only positive, and energy contributing people around you to support your life?
