14.01.2022 Some fantastic stuff here. We must never forget the enormously proud and highly successful history of our club and the efforts of all past players and administrators. Here’s the 1948 team, crowned Northern and State champions.... Pulling on the famous red and green jersey is a privilege and it means honouring the legacy of these great past teams and players. #UpTheBuds #131years https://www.facebook.com/groups/169334843168106/permalink/2796213337146897/

12.01.2022 Adamstown Rosebud FC would like to pass on belated birthday wishes to former junior and Socceroo - and now much loved and respected club ambassador - Peter Stone. Peter started his career at the Rosebuds before moving to Sydney, and made his Socceroos debut against Hong Kong in 1976. Peter also played Reserves for Tottenham Hotspur in England.... He can often be seen at our Youth and Senior games in his role as club ambassador, displaying his love and passion for his boyhood club. It’s people like Peter who helped elevate the club to become one of the most famous brands in Northern NSW football. Happy Birthday for yesterday Peter and we look forward to seeing you around the grounds continuing to support all our squads. #UpTheBuds

12.01.2022 This week, club favourite Graham Jennings is featured for #throwbackthursday ! Graham Jennings began playing football at the age of seven with local team Hamilton Azzuri. As a teenager, he moved to Adamstown Rosebud, and eventually made his senior debut at the age of 16. In 1978, he earned his first representative cap with Northern New South Wales, and after impressive displays for the Australian youth team later that year, he joined Sydney Olympic in the National Soccer L...eague. In 1983, he made his debut for the senior national team playing against England at the SCG in an international friendly match. Graham played 84 times for Australia, 44 of which were full ‘A’ international matches, during which he played predominantly as a defender and was renowned for his speed, earning him the nickname Flash. Eventually, he returned to his home team, Adamstown Rosebud, for the remainder of the 1994 New South Wales Super League season, retiring from football upon its conclusion. Five years later, in 1999, he was indicted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame, receiving the Award of Distinction for his football excellence. Graham is pictured here prior to the ARFC 130th Anniversary Gala Ball, where he shared some special stories with the club about his exciting soccer journey. #upthebuds #adamstownrosebudsfc See more

11.01.2022 For our last #ThrowbackThursday for the year, we are featuring a very special person who is a great feature to our club- literally! He is painted on the amazing mural we have at the oval... thats right, its Col Curran! Curran remains one of the most popular defenders in Aussie history years after his retirement from the game, testimony to the whole-hearted efforts he produced on the field, whether it be with Adamstown’s 1st grade as a teenager, Newcastle KB United in its Nat...ional League days, or in the famous green and gold strip of the Socceroos. Adamstown was Curran’s 2nd senior football stop on the road to Australian selection. A highly-talented fullback, Curran graduated to Maitland’s 1st team before moving on to Adamstown, where, like Baartz, he was offered a 6-month scholarship with Manchester United. He returned to Adamstown, played further football in the North before moving to Marconi, and rejoined Adamstown before making a 2nd move to Sydney, this time to Western Suburbs. The move was inevitable, since the Australian selectors had already earmarked the pocket dynamo for the green and gold. Curran played 35 times for Australia, including the World Cup finals in Munich, making his last appearance in the team in 1979. Col was a great addition to the club back in the day, and continues to be a valued part of our Adamstown Football Club community today. #upthebuds #adamstownrosebudsfc #colcurran See more

10.01.2022 Today, our under 14s and 16s teams took on the Premiers in their respective age groups, Newcastle Olympic at Darling Street to fight for a spot in next week’s NPL youth Grand Finals. Our under 16s played great football and dominated possession for most of the game. We were 1-0 down deep into the game but Olympic rode their luck and took a few chances and we went down 3-0. Our boys should be congratulated for fighting hard right through the season, playing some great football ...and leaving nothing in the tank in terms of effort. Our Under 14s took on the runaway Premiers and the final score of 6-1 was again not a reflection. A little bit of luck including hitting the post twice deserted them in the first half. Again, the young Buds should be congratulated on their efforts and commitment this year. To all players in our 14s and 16s, hold your head high boys. A great achievement to play finals football. Congratulations on a great season and representing the club proudly. Final results: Under 14: lost 6-1 Under 16: lost 3-0 #UpTheBuds

01.01.2022 Hi to all our supporters. Please see below a link to Member Protection Information Officer (MPIO) training. MPIO’s play an important role in sport. They provide information and guidance on complaints procedures - they are the 'go to' person if you want to discuss problems at your club/association, particularly if you are considering making a formal complaint.... Having an MPIO is an essential prerequisite for every club. Like most roles at our club, we’d love new people to step up to the plate to help. Our current MPIO is also a board member, events coordinator, senior matchday coordinator, COVID coordinator and washes the 1st Grade shirts each week! That’s some load. If you want to ease this load and step up to a key club role - and learn something new via the online webinar which could be useful in other areas - please check out the link below. #UpTheBuds https://www.sport.nsw.gov.au/events/training

In what is a Super Saturday at Adamstown, our SAP stars kick off the day before our under 18s take the field at 12.15 with an important game against Lake Macquarie City Roosters. On Sunday, our Youth squads travel up the Hunter Expressway to take on Weston Bears. #UpTheBuds
