06.01.2022 GREAT NEWS BENDEELA OPEN FOR CAMPING: As at time of writing 26/02/2000, Bendeela Camping and Recreation Reserve is partially open to the public. If you've been sweating on the camp grounds being closed your worries are over... Excerpt from Water NSW is as follows. "Day use access to the Lake for swimming, canoeing and kayaking is open however the foreshores will remain closed. ... Camping (apart from at Bendeela front campground) is not permitted until remote area camps and toilets can be repaired, and tree safety assessments undertaken." Homes and livlihoods were lost, but thanks to the amazing efforts of our awesom...e volunteer fire fighters the town itself survived.
