14.01.2022 NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the uncertainty about the social distancing measures that will be in place at the time A Day on the Beach 2021 is scheduled to be held, and the economic uncertainty facing many of our sponsors, the organising committee is considering either scaling down or cancelling next year's event. The decision on whether A Day on the Beach 2021 will be held and, if so, what form it will take will be made at our committee meeting schedule...d for Tuesday, 8 September 2020. This is a tough but necessary decision for the committee and we appreciate the impact it may have on our sponsors, suppliers, stallholders, participating sporting and community groups, and the individuals and families who are planning to come to Kingston Beach to celebrate Australia Day with us. We will provide an update as soon as possible.

08.01.2022 The Kingston Beach Regatta Association has received a letter from Premier Will Hodgman to advise that the Tasmanian Government will be providing $3,000 a year over the next four years to support the event. While there are a number of fun family events on Australia Day, our Association takes pride in making our event accessible to all families by keeping entry free and most activities either free or low-cost. We are able to achieve this thanks in part to the Government's gener...ous support. While we have been receiving Tasmanian Government sponsorship for some time now, having this four year commitment gives us funding certainty and helps with our forward planning. Thank you, Will Hodgman. We hope to see you at Kingston Beach this coming Australia Day!

02.01.2022 *** MEDIA RELEASE - A Day on the Beach 2021 cancelled *** The organising committee for A Day on the Beach has made the difficult decision to cancel next year’s event, scheduled to take place on 26 January 2021. A Day on the Beach President, Else Phillips, said the decision to cancel the Australia Day event was not taken lightly.... Unfortunately, the lack of certainty around COVID-19 restrictions, and the difficulty managing crowd numbers and social distancing, meant that we couldn’t guarantee the event would be Covid-safe, Ms Phillips said. These restrictions are in place for a reason, and as much as we would like to bring Tasmanians together for another great day of family fun, the health of the community comes first. We understand that this is disappointing for our sponsors, stallholders, suppliers, participating sporting and community groups, and the thousands of Tasmanians who enjoy attending A Day on the Beach every year. We look forward to Kingston Beach coming to life again on Australia Day 2022, should conditions allow, Ms Phillips said. 16 September 2020
