21.01.2022 Dear Parents, (As of last week) In light of the situation with COVID-19 and in line with current government recommendations for social distancing, please be advised that: 1. All face-to-face lessons will now be delivered in the form of virtual lessons (via Skype/Zoom/Messenger/ WhatsApp*), and will continue until otherwise notified.... 2. All group lessons will only be delivered via the online platform: Zoom. (Further info. on Zoom will be posted). 3. Please check your device prior to lessons with either Adel or a friend. Just message Adel when you would like to do a test run. 3. All students are encouraged to continue their daily practice at home and to keep revising to further develop their ability and musicality in spite of these interruptions to our normal routines! This measure is to ensure the decreased exposure risk to our community, students and teachers, whilst maintaining a minimised disruption and an alternate form of normalcy for our students. Please be patient as we work through this transition together. If you have any further concerns, suggestions or comments, please contact Adel directly. Stay safe and well everyone. 21.01.2022 One of the easiest etude to learn. You could also do an improvisation on it.

21.01.2022 Just for fun (and trivia).

21.01.2022 For those who have not used Zoom before, a quick guide on dialing into your lesson ("meeting"). Before you start: Choose your device. Any is fine (laptop, computer, smartphone, tablet) you’ll just need a reliable internet connection.... Make sure you have your device connected to power supply, so you don’t run out of battery halfway through a lesson. Lessons on Zoom Make sure you have your piano room set up at home. Ideally, your camera and microphone should clearly pick up your instrument and your face, so your teacher can see you playing and speaking to them. Start the lesson by opening the Zoom app on your computer or other device. You can start your lesson in one of two ways: 1. Using the url: Https://us04web.zoom.us/j/933220311 Select "Join Meeting". 2. Select "Join Meeting" Enter Meeting ID: 933-220-311 You’re ready to start your lesson! Other Useful Information The free account on Zoom includes unlimited time for 1-on-1 meetings. Meetings with 3 or more people (such as group lessons) are limited to 40 minutes. If your group lesson need to extends beyond this time, just start a new meeting. The Meeting ID for your lesson will not change. To minimise disruption between lessons, please wait in the meeting room and put your microphone on mute once you're invited. You may stay to watch the next lesson and say hello as lessons change over!

20.01.2022 If you're interested. It's free.

19.01.2022 #COVID19 PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT - #HAMILTON A third case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in #Newcastle. He is a male teenager who is a household contact of the t...eenager announced yesterday and the man in his 20s announced earlier today. Hunter New England Health is continuing to investigate the source of infection for all three cases. Anyone who attended St Francis Xavier's College (Hamilton East) on Monday 3, Tuesday 4, and Wednesday 5 August is urged to be on the lookout for COVID-19 symptoms and get tested immediately should any respiratory symptoms or fever occur. The school has been notified and will be closed for cleaning. Contact tracing is underway. All close contacts of the teenager are being notified and are required to seek testing and isolate for 14 days, regardless of their test result. Hunter New England Health is still working to identify any further contacts or venues visited by the teenager, and additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available. All close contacts will be notified and required to isolate for 14 days. The source of infection of the Newcastle family cluster is still unknown, so it is vital people in the community continue to present for testing if experiencing symptoms to limit the spread of the virus. 13.01.2022 Hi Parents, Last week has been an interesting start as we transit from face-to-face to virtual lessons. * I have noted some things that you can do to help your child(ren) adjust to this new form of learning platform:... 1. Have an organised space (i.e. wherever your piano is placed at home). 2. Where possible, use a bigger screen like computer or iPad/ tablet for the virtual lesson. This will help both your child(ren) and myself to have a clearer view of our playing/ demonstrating on the keyboard . 3. Where possible, this would be the ideal camera angle: (See pic of girl playing piano) 4. If you're using a smartphone: Place it in a vertical (portrait) position at the end of the keyboard. Attach it with adhesive (e.g. Blu Tack) or tape. You can also use a tripod-to-microstand adaptor or a mobile phone tripod mount. 5. If you're using a laptop / tablet: Place it on a music stand/ stool/ small table at the end of the keyboard. 6. Have a pencil ready for note taking and score annotations. 7. (Optional) Speakers, if the device that you're using does not have an in-built speaker/ require better sound quality. 8. (Optional) Headphones In the face of this unprecedented times, we are fortunate to live in a world of technology enabling us to do this. I hope everyone is doing well, please reach out if you are not. If you have any concerns, suggestions and/ or comments, please contact Adel directly. Stay safe and well. Add-A-Line Plays
