11.01.2022 / / MY JOURNEY with yoga - part 1 / / My personal yoga practice began at the age of 18, inspired by movement I decided take my first class in a gym and loved the caring pace of asana. (The posture/ movement portion of yoga) The full expression of yoga has helped me through several turbulent times through the last 12 years, including grief, loss of identity, motherhood and the intricacies of life itself and I always come back to this wholesome practice to FEEL, to work IN and to use as a guide to find inner equilibrium.

10.01.2022 Can I be honest? . this is not really a true picture of how I teach yoga.. . Not even close.... . This is however, me standing on my head 7 stories high with perfect weather conditions and my freshly bought lulu lemon attire in order to get some clicks on the GRAM! ... did it work? . It’s not about the likes, followers or doing fancy (okay, stupid, that’s fake grass and it’s hard) tricks for insta or being the next entrepreneur. . It’s about SHARING a message. The same message I have been sharing for 10 years. . Look after your health. Look after your body. Look after your mind and mental wellbeing. . They are all interconnected and if one system is out, they all are. . If I have to jump through hoops and do black flips to share that message.. then I will. . You know what to do . .

08.01.2022 / / Staff Retreat / / Today I had the pleasure of guest speaking for St Joseph’s Catholic School. . A staff retreat was organised for the Teaching teaching staff where we incorporated mindfulness, desk therapy and eastern philosophy amalgamated with modern coaching principles. .... We used visualisation techniques, breathing exercises and discussed the concepts of psychological time and how it affects the body, values and what it looks and feels like to neglect them and being true to yourself amongst other things. . Treatments look very different these days.... . We might Incorporate cupping and yoga to increase fascial ROM in a session. This is actually so damn fun! . Sometimes I use mindset in a session to help clients who’s thought formations are causing physical distress in their body. . Sometimes we chat for half an hour first because half of the process of healing the body is letting the go of our mental distress and by the time we get to the table half of the work has been done. . 05.01.2022 Mum guilt is inevitable regardless of your circumstances. . It’s moments like these that make me feel grateful for following what I know my heart wants. . They watch and learn from your every move and the energy your embodying, not necessarily what you say or tell them to do.... . As she lays down her very own yoga mat in the perfect sun light eating strawberries and playing with my new eye pillows (thanks to @wicks_and_wheat ) I can’t help but know that I’m teaching her a way of life and lessons you could only learn through observation from a child’s mind. . A lesson learnt from both my parents as I watched each of them follow their passions, constantly learning, evolving and trying new things. . Even at the age of fifty something my mum started up her own wine label and in late 2020 opened up her cellar door on McMurtrie Rd, McLaren Vale with her friend and business partner @linoramble. . As a daughter I couldn’t be prouder or more inspired. As a mother I could only hope to pass on this curiosity and lust for life. . See more
