23.01.2022 This week is Men’s mental health week. Out of the 8 Australians who lose their lives to suicide every single day, 6 of them are males. Far to many men still believe that we cannot show emotion and that if we speak up about our mental health problems, we will be stigmatised. This could not be further from the truth. Remember to look out for each other, help create an environment in your home and in your your workplace where people are encouraged to talk about mental health and feel comfortable about opening up to others. 1.9 billion people currently live with a mental illness and until we have a significant cultural shift in how we view and treat mental health. These numbers will only continue to rise.
23.01.2022 No matter how tough you think you are, ststistically 1 in 2 Aussies will experience a mental illness in their life time. Great to see more blokes opening up on their struggles and seeking help.
22.01.2022 now more than ever, we need to be supporting one another

With the current pandemic unfolding, economies are being brought to a halt, businesses are closing, employees are being laid off, mortgages, rent and bills are becoming increasingly difficult for people to pay for. Financial pressure can also result in a significant increase in the number of people suffering from mental illnesses and is also a major contributing factor in suicidal behaviour and ideation. 20.01.2022 Mental health awareness day should be 365 days a year.
18.01.2022 The impact that the pandemic is having on mental health is unquestionably terrible. 100 people in the first lockdown committed suicide in the first week alone. That was only in Victoria too. The mental health issues related to lockdown and the pandemic are especially hard for people with depression. Always check up on each other because you never know what someone might be going through.

However, there is increasing evidence that suggests that improving your diet can have significant positive effects on your mental health. Together, Kerryn and Mary have formed the wholesome collective. Cooking is not only an important skill, but it can also help to put us in the present moment and some even consider it a form of therapy.
