20.01.2022 I am frequently asked about my methods of Coaching in Cycling by other leading National Coaches in Swimming, Triathlons, Golf and Competition Walking. One of t...he main things that comes out of the discussions is everyone has an individual coaching to meet their requirements and aims. This would entail a detailed information on the time that they have available to do their necessary disciplines. Also a weekly report back from the athlete on exactly how they are coping or otherwise. On all my athletes a Sports Performance test is performed and also a bike fit before i start Coaching. A frequently asked question to me is my Coaching up to modern day methods. My reply to this is NO i am not up to date but ahead of everyone else. This has been proven and ratified talking to a number of National Coaches in other disciplines around the World who are surprised how far advanced i am compared to them with my thoughts and methods of Coaching and research. I am coaching riders ranging from teenagers up to senior masters across all aspects of cycle racing i.e. Track, Time trials, Road, Criterium racing and ATB with enormous success. I am already looking after a number of riders who have qualified to represent Australia and Great Britain in the UCI Fondo World Championships in Canada 2020. If you are looking for a Coach with a proven background then get in touch with me via my website ADDY1.COM See more

19.01.2022 This photograph of Tom was taken before the 1964 World Race Championships for Professionals and Amateurs in Sallanches, France. That's me in the background che...cking over and cleaning my wheel getting ready for the amateur race which was won by Eddy Merckx. I managed to finish in the main group sprinting for 2nd place. Tom in the Professional race chased the break solo and eventually got up to them after a number of laps. See more

02.01.2022 When i rode the Tour de France in 1968 our third stage in the morning was a 22 kms Team Time Trial followed 3 hours later by 112 km Road race. Two days later ...we had a split stage. Early in the day we did 165 kms followed 2 hours later we started the stage of 154 kms. The total distance for the race was 4,492 kms. This years Tour is 3,480kms. The last stage into Paris was a 56 km individual Time Trial. The only other one was a 6.1 Prologue on the first day. Just an interesting comparison. See more
