21.01.2022 Canberra Airport has announced it is reopening on Saturdays to meet demand from people flying to South Australia and Queensland. From Saturday October 3, the te...rminal will return to seven days a week. The airport has seen a 98% downturn in passengers during the pandemic but now that people can fly to more places that's expected to pick up. The number of flights to Brisbane is expected to double by the end of the week and for the first time Qantas will operate between Canberra and the Gold Coast with four flights a week. But ahead of school holidays, ACT Health is still encouraging Canberrans to have a 'staycation' and not to become complacent about the potential for coronavirus infection.
