18.01.2022 There's been a few changes in our Western bike nodes recently. Adelaide Shores Caravan Park no longer have the free bikes there, but the Discovery Parks Caravan Park (in Semaphore Park), and the Largs Pier Hotel are now both hire locations- happy riding!

18.01.2022 Daylight Savings is back! This means that a number of nodes have extended open hours to take advantage of all the sunshine, starting this Sunday. Check out the link below for opening hours and locations, or contact the Bike SA office directly

16.01.2022 Don't forget, with daylight savings ending, bike hire will move to winter hours at most locations.

16.01.2022 School holidays are back again, so here's some ideas to keep the kids entertained on a bike even if you've only got a driveway space or two. And don't forget, the Bike SA office has a variety of kid sized bikes and we're open every day for bike hire 9am - 4:30pm, just a short ride from the south and east parklands

15.01.2022 "A Simple Ride" opens today, come in and check it out

12.01.2022 The Bike SA office will be closed for the public holiday tomorrow Monday 4th October. For opening hours of nodes that ill be open see http://www.bikesa.asn.au/adelaidefreebikeslocation

11.01.2022 Anyone for a cardboard helmet?

11.01.2022 For anyone hoping to ride there are a few locations open over the break, but it will be extremely hot and so please plan your day. We want you to have an enjoyable experience, not feel faint from the heat! If you can, head out early and don't rush, give yourself plenty of time for your ride, and of course drink water both during and after the ride. Merry Christmas and keep cool!

10.01.2022 Just in case you missed it, there are two new hire locations in the city! The Old Adelaide Gaol and the Adelaide Central Bus Station Cafe (Connect Convenience) have 4 bikes each. For open times and locations see http://www.bikesa.asn.au/adelaidefreebikes

09.01.2022 We think this is pretty true for all riding, not just road cycling (except maybe the competitive bit) http://ap.ironman.com//6-ways-cycling-keeps-you-young.aspx

08.01.2022 A Simple Ride SALA exhibition ends this Saturday, come in and check out some bike themed artworks (10am-4pm everyday)!

07.01.2022 Live in the Western Suburbs and looking to get back into into riding? The City of Charles Sturt will be holding a "rusty riders" bike ride later this month, and they will even have a small number of free bikes available for the ride!

06.01.2022 Want to borrow a children's bike for a day? The Free Bikes program has a small number of kids' bikes available - Port Adelaide Visitor Centre, the Libraries at West Lakes, Henley, and Hindmarsh, and the Windsor Gardens Caravan Park all keep two bikes for kid's aged 8-12 years. For other ages (or big groups) visit the Bike SA office in Carrington St. We have a wide variety including 3 bikes with baby seats, a tagalong, and a Cargo bike!... Check out http://www.bikesa.asn.au/adelaidefreebikeslocation for individual opening hours

06.01.2022 The Bike SA office will be closed for the public holidays, but bikes are still available from select hire locations. The hotels, hostels, University security offices and the Adelaide Zoo will all be open on Christmas day (though we would recommend staying indoors where it's cool!). The Bonython Park kiosk, Par 3 kiosk and Peter Pan's Adventure Travel are open every day except Christmas itself. For contact details and open hours visit
