23.01.2022 Introducing our new trainee Gus (short for fungus)! Gus is training the house down at the moment and hopefully this season he will detect his first truffle! Along with our Ruby who is about to kick off off her second season, Gus will no doubt become a valued member of our team.... 15.01.2022 We recently had the pleasure of hunting a gorgeous little Truffiere in the Adelaide Hills which we must admit, took us all by surprisetake a close look at images 4 and 5 and then 6 and 7. Yes they are trees, albeit very small and yes the precluding images are the truffles Gus and Ruby found underneath them and other similar sized trees. Over 1kg of gorgeous French Black truffle. The old cliches that size isn’t everything and don’t judge a book by it’s cover immediately s...pring to mind and quickly reminds us that it doesn’t matter what the trees look like, the magic happens in the ground. Celebrating the excitement of unexpectedly finding the first truffle was soon replaced with finding the need for a bigger collection bucket. Less then 50 trees and 3kgs of truffle goodness found (and yes that’s a 400 gramer next to the phone).
