23.01.2022 Very pleased to hear from Lily Franklin an ALOS alumnus advising us that she recently commenced work at the North Australian Aboriginal Family Legal Service. What makes this special is that Lily told us that her time at ALOS turned her attention to the possibility of working at a CLC something she had not considered. Well done Lily. 19.01.2022 The Corona virus tragedy that is unfolding has touched our service. We have received legal enquiries from people stuck in China and unable to return to Adelaide. Our general advice is to contact their local embassy for assistance and advice on re-entry, and their employer/teaching institution advising of their situation. Sadly, from a legal perspective, there isn't much we can do to assist.

13.01.2022 Just a reminder about the Adelaide Law School's legal advice clinic at the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AATLAS). Operating since July 2019, the clinic provides legal advice to people who have a pending appeal before the AAT. Advice is restricted to Centrelink related matters such as Disability Support Pensions, NewStart allowances, Carer payments, FTB, Age Pensions, Robodebts etc. Appointment times are highly sought after and are restricted to people who have already lodged an appeal. If general advice on the appeal process or help with an appeal application is required, clients should first make an appointment to see the advisors at ALOS. Appointments for AATLAS are made by calling the AAT Registry on 1800 228 333 9am-4.45pm weekdays

08.01.2022 We are saddened to advise our current and future clients that from this week, we will not be conducting face to face interviews at the BaptistCare site for the foreseeable future. This action has been taken in response to the declared Covid-19 pandemic, and the recommendations of our State and Federal health authorities. The university and the Law School in particular places the highest priority on the safety of its students, staff and general public. However this does not m...ean the clinic is closing down. Rather we are instituting videoconferencing facilities so that any client with a PC, Mac, iPhone or Android telephone will be able to talk to our legal advisors and receive exactly the same service as before. The university will be using Zoom to present classes and we now have access to this conferencing facility. So please make you bookings as normal but be aware that they can only be through the medium of Zoom. Thank you all for your patience and stay safe. See more
