20.01.2022 Speech Pathology Week 2020 I wanted to write to our wonderful AP families from my own perspective. This week is all about celebrating our beautiful team and it felt so much more sincere speaking with my own words. Starting from the top with one of our tops is the truly lovely Sherrie. I am grateful to have crossed paths with Sherrie back where it all began; 2012 at Flinders during our masters degree. I have always had enormous admiration for Sherrie's unfathomable passion..., drive, and jolly disposition that is a constant joy to work alongside. Like a true speechie, Sherrie's heart is always on her sleeve and gives every iota of herself to her patients. Sherrie is paving the way at Adelaide Paediatrics in the ever complex but crucially important field of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) - I have learned so much, and continue to do so (even on our lunch break today!) from Sherrie, and I know firsthand how much her patients and families adore her. Here's to Sherrie, champion speech pathologist, and the #voicebehindthespeechie at Adelaide Paediatrics! Happy #spweek2020 -- Nathan Giaccio, Clinical Lead SP

09.01.2022 Speech Pathology Week 2020 The next superb #voicebehindthespeechie I wanted to share is stunning Charmaine. What is there not to say about this fabulous woman? I distinctly remember making a beeline to our practice manager's office on Charmaine's first day of placement to discuss offering her a position with AP the moment she was finished. From my very first encounter I knew what ridiculously impressive potential Charmaine had and was taking zero chances in letting this o...pportunity get away! And we haven't looked back. Charmaine's only operating speed is 150% and her performance and vigour never falter. If I'm not taking any opportunity to trick her into saying something in her brilliant South African accent (which, might I add, I never fail to do ), we're making a mad dash for a latte on a lunch break or a cheeky red on Thursday evenings. We all absolutely adore Charmaine -- and would you look at her model family?! Vale Charmaine, and happy #spweek2020 to you my friend! -- Nathan Giaccio, Clinical Lead SP

09.01.2022 Speech Pathology Week 2020 We're approaching the end of SP week for 2020, and I wish I had another week to have the chance to talk about our entire team. Have you entered our colouring competition yet? Let our fab admin team know if you haven't! Now I must chat about our dear Helen. I've jumped in and out of teams with Helen many times over the past few years, and we always pick up exactly where we've left off. Her warm and genuine approach to teamwork and patient car...e comes from a deep passion for our field. The Helen you see in sessions is the Helen we are all privileged to work alongside. She relishes working with ASD/GDD children, and you better believe she's good at it too. She takes enormous pride in the gains her patients make, which I know is driven by much of her heart and soul she pours into her work. Raise a glass this evening to our wonderful Helen (I definitely will be), another #voicebehindthespeechie at Adelaide Paediatrics! Happy #spweek2020 Helen! -- Nathan Giaccio, Clinical Lead SP

09.01.2022 Well done Milly!! We are SO proud of you!

08.01.2022 To Our Valued Clients & Patients, As South Australia has reported a number of cases of community transmission of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Adelaide's Northern suburbs over the weekend, it's a timely reminder for all of us to adhere to the Covid Safe practices we have learned throughout 2020. At Adelaide Paediatrics we will continue to take all of the necessary precautions to minimise the risk of transmission whilst providing ongoing care to families as safe and appropriate ba...sed upon current Department of Health advice. We request your cooperation in the following ways: If you or anyone within your close contacts is exhibiting any of the signs or symptoms associated with Coronavirus, i.e. fever, coughing, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath, we ask you to call and reschedule your appointment, or request a Telehealth consultation. We will endeavor to provide Telehealth options if appropriate. If you or anyone within your close contacts has had contact with a confirmed case of Coronavirus within the last 14 days, we ask you to call and reschedule your appointment pending a negative Covid test result. To limit congestion in waiting rooms, we ask that you arrive for your appointment on time, neither late nor too early. We will be doing our utmost to ensure appointments run to time. If you arrive early and wish to wait in your car until your practitioner is ready to see you, please call our friendly Reception Team on arrival. Ordinarily, extended family members are very welcome to attend appointments, however under the current circumstances we kindly request that numbers of family members in attendance is limited to only those required. We will be reviewing the situation on an ongoing basis in line with the latest guidelines from the Department of Health, and revising our protocols accordingly. The health and safety of all in the Adelaide Paediatrics Community is our highest priority. Please contact our rooms if you have any queries or concerns. Thanks for working together to stay safe!
