25.01.2022 Perhaps that little voice in your head has been prompting you to take it easy for a while, to stop the rushing and catch your breath. A whole day retreat may be too difficult to manage but you could take 3 hours out of next Sunday 13th and experience a Taste of Retreat with me at Riverdell. From 2-5 you can immerse yourself in restful practices and enjoy a delicious plant based high Tea. You may be surprised at how restorative a half day can be...just giving yourself permi...ssion has a positive effect... Call a friend and share something special together... https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/a-taste-of-retreat-tickets-
25.01.2022 Learning boundaries and knowing just how much to give of ourselves is so important. Taking responsibility for everyone and everything can be exhausting and soul destroying.. This antidote sounds like the way to go.
25.01.2022 Im now on Instragram- my handle is mandykindnesscoach. I read an article about increasing our capacity for kindness. "Research has shown that the act of giving or helping can give you a lift too. It can increase serotonin, the feel good chemical in your brain, boost your energy and make you happier while decreasing anxiety and stress"... Thats great news but as much as we know that being kind to others is a good thing its not always the easiest thing to do. What I know about Kindness is that the best way to increase your capacity for it is to....... BE KIND TO YOURSELF. Another quote from my readings "When you want to live with an open heart thats loving, kind, generous, and caring to others, the most important thing you can possibly do is be loving, kind, generous, and caring with yourself." Perhaps that little voice in your head is still giving you a hard time...you dont do enough, have enough, arent good enough. Well enough is enough! Please be kind to yourself and if you dont know how to do that I would be happy to support you to learn...
24.01.2022 Another wonderful retreat at Sophia today. A great group of women who connected, shared, learned, laughed and ate delicious healthy food. I get topped up when... I hear how they have been able to relax, reconnect with nature, enjoy moving and laughing again and make a commitment to treat themselves kindly somehow in the next week. Thankyou to my assistants Allegra and Sue. Fabulous soup and salad were a fine contribution. Feet up tonight, basking in contentment with a bit of excitement in creating my first residential retreat in October...
23.01.2022 Another lovely day spent at Sophia last Saturday. They arrived not knowing what to quite to expect. We stretched, relaxed and got into the zone We communed with nature.... We laughed and shared and found our voices. We left feeling committed to being kinder to ourselves. I cant wait til the next retreat. Sunday 16th August
23.01.2022 Yippy, August retreat is fully booked! This is the day 2 version which I have only run 2 times and I am really looking forward to sharing some powerful processes with more wonderful women. Great news too regarding my booking platform.... I have converted to Humanitix because it is a not for profit and a percentage of booking fees go to supporting Girls education. What a great win win... Other event organisers who care about making a positive difference I highly recommend it.. So if you know your physical and mental health needs a bit of a reboot now, whats stopping you from putting Saturday 5th September aside to and Rest and Restore at Sophia. https://events.humanitix.com/rest-and-restore-retreat
23.01.2022 I remember when my children were younger how difficult it was to spend money on myself and it took me a long time to sign up for my first personal development workshop. Now of course I'm so glad I did it because it was the beginning of learning the skills of living authentically and joyfully. It allowed me to be a better mum, partner, friend and daughter. It was so worth it. If signing up to the next retreat at Riverdell meant you walked away - feeling like you had come back... home to your true self - feeling physically rested and restored - feeling like you had let go of beliefs, worries that weigh you down - experiencing hope and optimism about your future - feeling inspired about tending to your health - with strategies to incorporate in daily life to look after your health - with a renewed ability to laugh, find joy and lightness - remembering how precious you are and how much you deserve Would it be worth it? Would that be money well spent? https://riverdell.org.au//slow-down-and-savour-the-sweetn/ If you contact me direct you can avoid booking fee. Looking forward to hearing from you...
23.01.2022 https://riverdell.org.au/eventbri/rest-and-restore-retreat/ With the uncertainty of whether I could run my first retreat for the year I have not been promoting it. It is short notice but I am so keen to hold this day- many women have been under a lot of pressure lately- that I want to offer it to women who are particularly in need of some time for themselves but whose financial situation makes it difficult for them.... If you or a woman you know, could benefit from a day of self care, an opportunity to slow down and focus on you own well being then message me and lets see how we can make it happen for you...
23.01.2022 This building at Riverdell is aptly named the Sanctuary. How often have you longed to take a break and find sanctuary in stillness and silence. Experiencing either of these lately seems a rare thing. ... Giving ourselves permission to stop and take a break can be difficult especially when there are so many people relying on us. Finding time for yourself seems impossible and even irresponsible- you don't want to let people down, you cannot consider spending that $ on yourself. I've been there but have learnt that ultimately unless I do tend to my own needs I cannot care for others as I would like to. Pushing ourselves to our limits can mean we cannot show up for others or we show up but not as the best versions of ourselves. Sometimes the best thing you can do for others is to care for yourself... A 2 day retreat just outside of Adelaide may be just the balm you could do with right now? https://riverdell.org.au//slow-down-and-savour-the-sweetn/
21.01.2022 There have been times in my life when I have felt tired of the same old same old I knew I needed to make some changes, to create a shift in my life, to get unstuck. I stayed stuck until it just became too uncomfortable and I knew my physical health was suffering. Moving towards healing was the best thing I ever did! A day to step away from everyday routine and responsibilities can be a great way to get the clarity and perspective you need to find the momentum to live a rich...er, more fulfilling and healthier life. "Some people want it to happen, Some wish it would happen, others make it happen" If you want things to change you need to take action. If youve already made wonderful things happen in your life Well Done! Keep inspiring others. https://www.facebook.com/events/2069334966545841/
21.01.2022 Learning how to quiet that critical voice in your head is a learnt skill....one worth making the effort to learn. Changing the inner dialogue to be affirming and supportive is so much better for ones mental health.
21.01.2022 Dare to be different, dare to follow your heart, let go of other peoples expectations...life can be so fun..
21.01.2022 Ive been letting go of the need to accumulate more stuff. Money invested on experiences has been so much more satisfying
21.01.2022 There have been some significant positives come out of these months of Isolation for me. While I rarely felt isolated I did spend much more time at home and less time in my car driving, being mindful of time, worrying about how long it would take me and getting frustrated at yet more roadworks that could make me late... I lost my FOMO, There was nothing going on I was missing out on! I grew even greater appreciation for my garden and walks in nature...... I rested, contemplated, did InterPlay over zoom, experienced days of Flow and had genuine moments of blissful contentment- especially once I was allowed to hug my grandchildren again... But now... We are allowed to socialise again and I am happy to be able to hold the first Rest and Restore Retreat for the year. This one is at Riverdell Spiritual Centre, a perfect venue to experience a day reflection and restoration. If months of such significant news on a global level have left you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, sad, confused even angry..thats not surprising. If you would like an opportunity to explore what this has meant for you personally, what possibilities the future does hold for you in a safe supportive environment I encourage you to give yourself of a day at the retreat on Sunday 13th June- 9.30- 4.30. Spaces are limited to 8. If you are ready to invest in your own Well Being, this day will allow you to experience real physical and emotional restoration, and provide you with incentive to make your own Self Care a priority. 17.01.2022 Remembering our own self worth seems a constant lesson...many relationships will test that..
16.01.2022 Letting go of trying to control others is very important to our overall health. We can only be responsible for own own decisions, actions and reactions.
16.01.2022 I love this suggestion of how to get through difficult times. And how amazing is this 102 yr old woman

10.01.2022 What a lovely way to recognise the pressure some of us are under and the reasons for that pressure. It is a beautiful road, sometimes we just need to give ourselves permission to slow down in order see and savour that beauty...
08.01.2022 There is more to healing than meditating. Learning to be still and reflective is however a very good start..
06.01.2022 Yay, We are allowed to socialise again! with some conditions of course but we can gather.. and I am happy to be able to hold the first Rest and Restore Retreat for the year. 06.01.2022 I had a great time with some girlfriends yesterday, in a house in the hills with a toasty warm fire watching the rain from the windows, surrounded by stunning nature, friendly magpies and Kookaburras.. Beyond the fabulous food, stimulating company and some wanderings down memory lane- weve been friends for a very long time- I realised theres something even more I appreciate when I gather with this group. We LAUGH! A lot! ... I came away topped up. Ive been listened to, had opportunity to share deep and meaningfully or be fun and frivolous, its all welcome in the pot. Connection and laughter are so important to me. Covid may have meant that youve been laughing less in the last few months Or spending more time with little people may mean youve been laughing more! Whatever the situation, remember the benefits of laughter.. If you need help to get laughing again consider joining us at next retreat. Places are limited due to Covid, theres only 3 places left.
06.01.2022 We are role models for our children. Self care is worth modelling. When we are exhausted and soldier on we risk poor health and relationships.
06.01.2022 Perhaps youve been considering doing a retreat with me but are just not sure what to expect or if you can afford a whole day. I am running a Taste of Retreat workshop at Riverdell Spiritual Centre where you experience a rest from responsibilities for an afternoon, as well as be treated to a delicious and nutritious High Tea. Even half a day can be restorative... Call a friend and share something special together.. https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/a-taste-of-retreat-tickets-
05.01.2022 I feel so topped up after a day of retreat at Sophia. We slowed down, communed with nature, we shared laughter and insights and were reminded of what amazing women we are. More women committed to being kind to themselves, which will lead to greater kindness for towards others.... I love doing this work..
05.01.2022 THOUGHT FOR TODAY: 10 Facts Every Woman Should Know~~ 1. Everyone has rolls when they bend over. 2. When someone tells you that you're beautiful, believe them. ...They aren't lying. 3. Sometimes we all wake up with breath that could kill a goat. 4. For every woman unhappy with her stretch marks is another woman who wishes she had them. 5. You should definitely have more confidence. And if you saw yourself the way others see you, you would. 6. Don't look for a man to save you. Be able to save yourself. 7. It's okay to not love every part of your body....but you should. 8. We all have that one friend who seems to have it all together. That woman with the seemingly perfect life. Well, you might be that woman to someone else. 9. You should be a priority. Not an option, a last resort, or a backup plan. 10. You're a woman. That alone makes you pretty damn remarkable.~ ~Mary L. Leonard
04.01.2022 Sometimes we have a sense that we need to do something to make ourselves feel better but are not sure what that is. Sometimes we get an inkling of what it might be that we need to do but dont act on that inkling What stops us from listening to our own inner guidance is usually fear, often doubt it might not be the right thing or discomfort at moving out of the comfort zone. ... Committing to taking time for yourself at a retreat with someone you dont know and with possible strangers can be a bit far out of ones comfort zone. I get that. If you have been considering registering for this one day retreat for a while but continue to put it off for all or any of the above reasons please check out my website to get a bit of a feel of what I am offering and why I run these retreats.. It may just be what you need to help you feel better... https://welcometowellness.com.au/
04.01.2022 This one day retreat allows women time for themselves to slow down and recharge. You dont need to go to Bali or Byron to feel lighter and happier. I encourage ...you to show some kindness to yourself by prioritising your Self Care and spending a day resting, reconnecting and filling up your own cup...isnt it time? See more
04.01.2022 I think that many women actually know what they need to do for their self care- there's no shortage of information these days about what we 'should' be doing but actually taking time for ourselves often doesn't happen- it's one of those things we'll do once we get the time. I have personally found that the time does not magically appear. I often find myself in busy mode until I become exhausted, depleted and a lot less fun to be around! When I recognise this I block out time... for a day for myself, to be in flow and am always pleased with how restorative that is. Of course 2 days would be even more restorative! If you know you are in need of some topping up now, some restoration, some kindness to yourself or just ready for a change up, what might be stopping you from taking action...? Adrenal Burnout takes a lot to come back from.. The last retreat for the year is a residential at Riverdell on Oct 10th-11th. It is already half full Why not consider contacting a friend- it makes you more accountable when someone is relying on you, and check out the link to the "Slow Down and Savour the Sweetness' Retreat. With activities that support your physical mental and emotional health, you are guaranteed to leave feeling positively different...are you ready for that? P.S If you contact me direct I can waiver the booking fee... https://riverdell.org.au//slow-down-and-savour-the-sweetn/

03.01.2022 Considering my mission is to support women to Slow Down and Savour the Sweetness I knew I needed to top myself up recently. I had developed the Winter Blues. Last weekend I tried my first anti gravity yoga class- loved it and returned this weekend. I went and listened to live music at The Gov and although dancing was not allowed- can you believe it- it felt wonderful to be in a room with other people enjoying live artists.... I also ensured I connected with nature and went for a walk at Morialta. Look what greeted me on the path... My cup has been well and truly topped up and the positive effects are still with me... You can experience some of these healing salves by joining me at next retreat, Sunday 16th August.- no we wont be doing Arial Yoga but we will move our bodies! Earlybird finishes Friday 7th August
03.01.2022 Bookings for retreats are taking off! There are only a few more planned for the year, September 5th at Sophia and then two at Riverdell Spiritual Centre. ... "A Taste of Retreat" is a half day from 2-5.30 and includes a delicious high tea. The one I am excited about is the residential in October.called "Slow Down and Savour the Sweetness". Two days to combine both restful practices, healing processes and create meaningful connections with like minded women. There is so many great things that could be included on such a retreat I feel spoilt for choice.. If you feel you may be ready for a greater immersion in Self Care by October then check out the link below. Past attendees will be offered a discount so message me if interested. https://riverdell.org.au//slow-down-and-savour-the-sweetn/
02.01.2022 Burnout is now a diagnosed condition and is becoming more common. Some useful tips in this article to help you recognise and avoid Burn-out
01.01.2022 I still need to practice this. I encourage women to slow down, to take some things off their to do list and spend some time to just be. Having a rest from doing is so restorative. I know this but I think many of us are hard wired to keep doing. ... Thank goodness I have a good friend to remind me to just be and thank goodness I occassionslly listen to her! See more
