25.01.2022 What is the fun and dynamic table tennis Spinneroos Program ?? Spinneroos is an entry-level program for children under the ages of 12. Its a chance for children to learn the table tennis basics, get active, have fun and create special memories with other Spinneroos. This official starter program will not only kick start a childs passion for sport but will also teach them fundamental motor skill from a young age, incorporating the use of balls and bats to allow children to p...articipate and cater to their individual needs. Many children will pick up a bat or hit a ball for the first time. Its a learning experience and a lot of fun. The Adelaide Table Tennis Club will be offering two Spinneroos Programs commencing the 17th October 2020. We are especially excited to be able to introduce the Girls Spinneroos program, which is essentially the same program, but just for girls! Lead by a female coach and 100% female participation, girls will be able to develop their skills and confidence in a fun and safe. To learn more or book go to: www.Spinneroos.com.au #Spinneroos

24.01.2022 Adelaide TTC Re-Opens Tomorrow -Tuesday, 1st December 2020 The good news is that as of tomorrow, Tuesday, 1st December 2020 the Club may re-open. There are some... new general conditions/obligations that are detailed in the new Covid Safe Plan provided to the Club by the SA Office for Sport, Recreation and Racing (OSRR). The Covid Safe Plan also includes our Covid-Safe Check-In QR Code and a set of instructions on how to use the QR code. I will place this code (printed A4 sheet) and instructions on the Canteen counter tomorrow (Tuesday). The OSRR will advise me when the ‘My SA gov’ app can be downloaded from the Apple and Google app stores. In the meantime, the QR code can be used with a smartphone camera. I will advise via a further post when the 'My SA gov' app may be downloaded. Irrespective of using the QR Code it will still be necessary for everyone to complete our manual ‘Attendance Register’ on the Canteen Counter as we need that information for financial accounting purposes, reporting participation activity to Table Tennis Australia and for contact tracing purposes. The new conditions that have been put in place possibly may only apply for two weeks. See our website for more information on the conditions/obligations put in place. See you on Tuesday night for our Summer Competition. Greg Bungey Secretary See more

22.01.2022 Further Easing of COVID Restrictions - Friday 19th June The ORS have announced further easing of COVID-19 restrictions from this Friday, 19th June 2020. The easing was discussed at a TTSA Board Meeting on Thursday, 18th June 2020. From Friday 19 June The number of people allowable in a room within a venue will increase from 20 to 75 providing 1 person per 4 square metres can be accommodated. . ... This means for our Club that from this Friday we may have up to 75 persons in our Clubrooms because the playing area is large enough to cater for 75 persons with the 4 square metre rule being accommodated. The consequence of this is that there is now no need for players to book a spot in the sessions that they wish to play in. Also, TTSA has confirmed with the Office for Sport and Recreation that doubles may now be played. Please carefully take note of other updates to the easing of restrictions shown below: Non-members and the Public will be welcome back The canteen is now permitted to be open for hand held snacks & non-alcoholic beverages - should we choose to open the canteen. The consumption of food and beverages (beer included) may only be consumed while sitting at a table (1.5 metre distancing rule applies) It is stressed that all of the hygiene protocols that we have put in place such as the usage of the hand sanitisers, the non-use of the shower facility, the social distancing, the completion of the attendance register and the cleaning of all touch points by the session manager (coaches) on locking up the stadium STILL APPLY. At this point in time the next easing of restrictions is expected to be on the 20th July 2020.

22.01.2022 Congratulations to Royce Goh of Adelaide table tennis club on receiving sponsorship from Affordable Table Tennis and Andro. Royce is very thankful to Affordable table tennis.

14.01.2022 Adelaide Table Tennis Club Now Closed To All Activities I advise that the Club is now closed until further notice to all activities including one on one individual coaching. This action is based on the announcement by the Government that due to COVID-19 all indoors sports facilities are required to close. O...ur objective at this time is to ensure the health of players, coaches, parents and everyone that uses or visits our Club. I know not playing table tennis is going to be hard for many of us, however, the main thing at this time is to stay safe and well and I look forward to catching up with everyone once this virus emergency is over. 12.01.2022 2020 National Championships scheduled for Traralagon Cancelled Scott Houston (CEO), advised that TTA has continued to monitor the situation and has been in ongoing dialogue with medical professionals over the past 6 months. After weighing up all options, the decision to cancel the events was made due to the following: 1 - There is uncertainty around whether Victorias COVID-19 situation will sufficiently improve to enable events of this size to be held.... 2 - It is not currently possible for all States/Territories to travel into and out of Victoria and there is uncertainty around when this will change. 3 - The feedback provided by competitors across the various events in the most recent survey highlighted that a large percentage of competitors will not participate this year due to COVID-19 concerns (between 33%-48%). Although there is some likelihood that the COVID-19 situation will improve by the time the events were supposed to commence, it is recognised that competitors, State/Territory Associations and TTA need sufficient time to effectively prepare for the events. We look forward to welcoming everyone back to the National Championships in 2021.

09.01.2022 Cancellation of the City of Mitcham 2020 Open/Youth & Junior Championships The Adelaide Table Tennis Club has decided to cancel the City of Mitcham Open/Youth & Junior Championships to be played on the 21st & 22nd March 2020 as a consequence of the coronavirus (COVID P) virus. This decision is with regret but is made prudently in the interest of ensuring the health, safety an...d wellbeing of the table tennis community. The tournament would have been large bringing many players, coaches and parents together in a confined area and at this particular time of evolving response to prevent the spread of COVID-19 this would not have been a good situation. The decision the Club has made is based on expert medical advice and is in line with the advice of many National Sporting Organisations. Greg Bungey Secretary, Adelaide Table Tennis Club See more
