If you maintain this daily average and live to the age of 80 years, then you’ll have wal...ked about 177,028 kilometres. This is the equivalent of walking about 5 times around the Earth! That’s not bad considering your feet don’t get a tyre change! But you can change what is on your feet. Shoes are one of the most important factors in foot and ankle injuries. So choose your foot wear wisely over your lifetime! Do you have a foot or ankle injury? A podiatric surgeon can help if you. 15.01.2022 To kick off #foothealthweek, the ACPS wishes to remember Dr John Pickering OAM Dr John Pickering is considered the founding father of podiatric surgery in the A...ustralia and his contribution to foot care in our country was gigantic teacher, surgeon and ground breaker. John had much fulfillment from his career but one of his greatest achievements was starting the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons. Nothing is quite like podiatric surgery, John has said and his advice for the podiatric surgeons of today and the future is to continue to make sure your work is of a very high standard. #australasiancollegeofpodiatricsurgeons #podiatricsurgery #surgery #training #education #foothealth

14.01.2022 It was a pleasure last weekend to have some of the AC Podiatry team attend an injection workshop with our Podiatric Surgeon Angelo Salerno at Adelaide Ambulator...y Day Surgery. Andrea Castello, Estelle Humphris, Charani Katragadda and Alison Vincent spent a couple of hours with Angelo revisiting the anatomical landmarks & technique for performing Posterior Tibial Nerve Block. The main objective is to numb the plantar aspect of the forefoot & heel with the minimal amount of pain & distress to the patient to be able to perform more invasive techniques for the treatment of plantar warts. Dry needling or curettage are all within the capability of podiatrists performing PTNB. See more

08.01.2022 The soap you use does not have to be antibacterial. Regular soap will protect you if you wash your hands properly. COVID-19, like many other viruses, is he...ld together by a lipid (fatty) membrane. Washing with soap will remove the fat that sits around the virus particles and destroy it. How to wash your hands properly: Use soap and running water wet hands thoroughly and lather with soap (any soap!) rub hands together for 20 seconds as you wash them, creating a good lather pay attention to the backs of hands, wrists, between fingers and under fingernails rinse hands well under running water dry hands with a single use disposable paper towel or a clean towel. *When you cannot access soap and water, or your hands arent visibly soiled, you can use alcohol based sanitiser.
