24.01.2022 Happy Monday folks !

22.01.2022 **WARNING** the following content contains a "Feel-good" news story, and some cool pictures!! We were over the moon to receive a gift of thanks from dedicated owners Amy and Locky, regarding their pet Winston, who we first met in late January 2020. ... Winston presented to us with a fever, and seemingly quite flat, which was very unusual for this bounding, bouncy Kelpie. During his stay, we noticed an unusual swelling around Winston's chest, which may have been a secondary reaction to some kind of infection. Within a few hours Winston had declined, and this swelling had spread throughout his chest, abdomen and prepuce. He was hot to touch and still extremely lethargic. Further investigation, and Winston was diagnosed with suspect "Necrotising Fascitis"- which is a serious bacterial infection of the soft tissue and fascia. An extremely rare condition, and in most cases that have been seen in dogs - lethal! Amy and Locky decided to continue treatment for Winston, a dedication and commitment that we can appreciate takes its toll on owners. Winston would stay in our care for a few days, on an aggressive course of antibiotics, fluid therapy, bandage changes and high nursing care, before even considering going home. He would then continue making trips back to his regular vets for treatment, follow ups and bandage changes around his wounds. Each bandage change (every 3-5 days!) required both pet and owner compliance. Amy was in awe at the way her Winston tolerated the bandage changes, and Winston (we would expect), grateful for his mum and dad giving him a chance and caring for him so intensely at home. ......This process went on for 3 months!!! And...by early May 2020, Winston was given the 'all clear'!! Amy and Locky have asked us to share that they do have pet insurance for their furr-babies, something that made this long healing process all that more achievable. Something they suggest every pet owner looks into for piece of mind, should a pet fall expectantly ill! We are again, always so grateful to hear these kinds of outcomes, and thank Amy and Locky for the gift! All the best Winston!!!

10.01.2022 CAN YOU GUESS THE FOREIGN BODY Eating more that she was able, this puppy ate something, and NOT off her dinner table! It got stuck you see, where things should pass, but a little too big for her stomach to task.... Can you guess what it is, by its shape and its size? Maybe a pebble? Maybe a rock? Maybe a prize? We suspect a chocolate delight without hinges, key or a lid, yet a golden treasure inside is hid. This puppy is feeling much better now. What came out you ask? Well, it made us all say WOW!
