11.01.2022 AM I GOING TO LOSE MY GAINS?! A lot of people are concerned that during this period of no gyms/no sports, they are going to lose all the work they have put in. A couple of things.... If you have been training regularly (3-5 x /wk) for a prolonged time leading into this period you will see minimal decrease in many areas throughout this period, provided you are still adhering to some form of resistance & conditioning training plan. The expectation of maximal strength (85/90%+ of 1rm) to decrease is an obvious one. If you are not adding sub or maximal external load (weights) into your resistance plan, you are going to see a decrease. However, overall strength (6+ rep range) will stay relatively similar, provided you are continuing some form of resistance training & also it is subjective to the overall time off. If you are not doing anything at all, expect a decrease in all aspects of your training. But hey if you aren’t, don’t stress it’s all going to be fine Swipe left to view a table I’ve provided which put’s things into context for you. As you can see it may not be as bad as you initially thought.
