24.01.2022 Wow! The wind blew but the nerves calmed as this gorgeous couple shared such beautiful vows. I invited them to tell me what qualities they liked about each other and they were both so thoughtful and generous with their sentiments. And that was even before the Vows!... I love helping couples create a personal ceremony, and working with Jess and Jackson didn't feel like 'work' at all. P.S I am in the photo, I'm just at the back trying to be discreet!
22.01.2022 Found myself on iBrides, I've been told it's a bit like pinterest for weddings. Still working on it but stay tuned for more action! http://ibride.com/v/1639377/adelaide-celebrant-mandy-price/
21.01.2022 What fun we had at Semaphore beach. Vija and Aaron were a lovely couple to marry.
20.01.2022 A wedding is such a significant milestone in a family with much cause for celebration. Often however, someone very special in the lives of the bride or groom is missing. Amidst a day of great joy it is important to acknowledge loved ones who have passed, through speaking their name, lighting a candle, having their photo present or including whatever feels right as a small part of the ceremony. It is important to remember people who have been part of our lives, who have perhaps contributed to making us who we are, and a wedding ceremony provides opportunity to do that if it feels right.
20.01.2022 While I attend a lot of weddings I have only been to one as the Mother of the Bride. Watching my daughter and now Son in Law plan their wedding really gave me new insight into just how much thinking and organisation is needed to create such a beautiful event. I am so glad they decided to get it videoed. It's such a lovely reminder of what was a most joyful love-filled day.... I was not working that day by the way, I wanted to be present and relaxed for all of it.
19.01.2022 Despite a very hot January day, I so enjoyed the wedding of Kristen McDonnell and Dave Adams at Picturesque Al Ru Farm last Saturday. It was lovely to be able to create a ceremony for someone whose family I knew and to reconnect with friends and acquaintances from Henley Beach. A stunning bridal party, in a beautiful setting, with lots of friends and family joviality...I'm sure they would have had a fabulous evening.
18.01.2022 Wow talk about attention to detail! Those flowers next to the yellow dresses look stunning. Flowers have traditionally been used in many cultures as an important part of ceremonies and celebrations. While I love seeing the bridal party arrive at the ceremony I am often struck at how beautiful their flowers are too. They vary according to the seasons and can be lavish arrangements or more simple, even hand picked blooms. I have seen some lovely native bouquets lately. If I b...egin to get a touch of the winter blues myself I buy myself a bunch of flowers. Their beauty and aroma can really improve my mood and remind me that life as well as love is worth celebrating. Now that's a pretty colourful beach wedding. I'm looking forward to the busy spring wedding season when I will be waiting on the white sands for some of my soon to be wed couples....
18.01.2022 Another lovely October wedding. Weather can be unpredictable but Saturdays wedding at The Royal Adelaide Golf Club was perfect. The reception area had a beautiful view. Even when a couple are wanting 'short and sweet' it's possible to personalise the ceremony and even infuse it with some humour. That does seem to help relax a bride and groom. ... I love seeing the range of generations- grandparents to very new arrivals- gathered together to share in this happy celebration. Weddings are often one of the few times families get together, so it is a special day. I love being part of them
18.01.2022 October can be a busy wedding month. I have several weddings then and one of them will be a family one where I get to be the guest rather than an official. It is always good to see the guests prepare for a true celebration after the ceremony and instead of heading off home this time I get to stay and play! I have so much to look forward to in October. I am mindful however of being in the now so here's to the beauty of Spring where all one senses can be enlivened. The smell of blossoms, the warmth of the outside air on skin that is finally comfortable to expose, the colour of the winter bulbs flowering and just the general lightness in my step as I move less encumbered by layers of clothing...The advantage of enduring a long cold winter is that we can appreciate the delicious unfolding of the next season...here's to Spring.
17.01.2022 I am soon to be "The mother of the Bride" and am getting very excited about this beautiful celebration. Seeing the organisation from behind the scenes has reminded me of how busy the lead up to a wedding can be. It reminds me of how important my job is as the celebrant to make the ceremony planning and creation as easy and enjoyable as possible for couples, one less thing for them to worry about. So much time and planning goes into the day, I am always pleased when couples thank me for creating a relaxed and joyful experience- that's such an important part of my job.
17.01.2022 So last week I did the wedding of the couple I met in my previous post. Despite the inclement weather- that was fine they had a back up plan- it was a very warm and touching ceremony. Bride and groom spoke their own vows to each other- as opposed to reading them- and they were so heartfelt..there were some teary eyes in the room, including the bride but she assured us she was very happy. It is a real honor to be part of a couples special day. I look forward to my October weddings. :)
17.01.2022 I just had the pleasure of meeting with a lovely couple getting married in September. They were so sincere in their love for each other and had ideas for some beautiful words to share in the ceremony..I'm getting excited about what we will come up with together as I create their personal ceremony..I do love my Job. :)
16.01.2022 There can be so much to consider when planning a wedding depending on how grand or how simple you want it to be. There is one constant however and that is the ceremony. After gathering all your closest family and friends together to publicly declare love for one another I think it is important that the ceremony is personal and meaningful. People like to hear personal stories, people are often touched by couples individual loving and sometimes funny vows.... Hearing a couple's story and then creating a ceremony for them is the creative aspect of being a celebrant and the part I enjoy. Conducting the ceremony and witnessing the emotions of the couple and guests is also a favourite part. It's wonderful to be on that rollercoaster of tears and laughter... Roll on summer so I can share more of these occasions
16.01.2022 What a beautiful October wedding last year. The venue- the Wine Centre- and backdrop was just perfect for Carla and Grant. Knowing her mum and dad and some of her friends did make the celebrations after even more special. It's always a pleasure to create a ceremony and share in the joy of such a day.
15.01.2022 The Flower girls had enough already...
15.01.2022 With spring weather making the occasional appearance lately it reminds me that the busy wedding season is beginning. Meeting with couples to hear their stories and share in the excitement of their planning is quite uplifting. Being with them along the way as the ceremony takes shape is also fun as couples share some lovely readings and sentiments and sometimes funny stories of their meeting. Connecting with a couple in love..well as I've said before..I love my job.
12.01.2022 A lovely wedding at Partridge house with my daughter as Misty's Bridesmaid. Lucy's turn soon, how exciting!
11.01.2022 It's always lovely to receive feedback from a couple I have married. Octobers wedding at 'the tree' in Kuipto forest. "We were so happy with how everything turned out and have had so many comments on how beautiful the ceremony was. Thank you for making it short and shiny with just the right amount of emotion. I will recommend you to everyone for keeping us both extremely calm during the whole process and being wonderful on our special day".... The photographer Luke Greaves also comes highly recommended. See more
10.01.2022 Richard and Gills wedding at Cape Jervis station. Beautiful weather, stunning outlook and very happy family and friends..a real pleasure to be able to conduct a heart felt ceremony for this lovely couple.
10.01.2022 Thanks Mandy for you energy into the ceremony. I just love it!
10.01.2022 I got a bit inspired to be creative recently when I created a ceremony for a couple who were both exceptional golfers. As I wished them all the best in their married life together I offered them some advice about having a strong marriage is not unlike the principles of a good golfing partnership and it went something like this. -May you both be clear about the direction you are aiming for together -May you always be able to see the trees for the woods-wood... -May you stay aware of hazards and take preventative measures to avoid trouble ahead -May you celebrate successes together and support each other's good shots -May you maintain humility when the play doesn't go your way and you have had a bad day -May you realise that at the end of the day it's not about that hole in one rather the experiences you shared on the course to get there, the highs and lows, the hazards and sandpits, the small talk, laughs ideas and shared dreams. -And when one of you is a little overwhelmed by any handicaps the other one is there for support and a sympathetic ear. -And finally if you see your marriage as a game that needs practice, commitment, patience and a sense of humour I'm sure it will be marked by many great winning moments, days and years ahead. It is fun to meet with couples, to get their story and to personalise their ceremony. That wedding was another beautiful Autumn day at the Golf club...I do love this job
09.01.2022 A beautiful summer wedding at Semaphore beach.
09.01.2022 Well what a great time we had in April at Hades Hulu house at Semaphore. My colleague Dani from years ago got married to Joe and we created a rather beautiful ceremony together. Romantic and funny. Dani the drama teacher and rock star and me the wannabe didn't mind taking to the stage and doing a little improv.... Joe happily went along with it all but did create his own fabulous vows too. What a celebration that followed. Love is so worth celebrating. I look fwd to creating many more ceremonies for happy couples.
07.01.2022 I do love creating ceremonies for family. Knowing my niece Susan and her partner, now husband Scott, allowed me to do a personal introduction which they appreciated. They always had right of veto of course, but they both have a great sense of humour so we managed a few laughs in there at Susan's expense. A beautifully organised wedding in the perfect entertaining house and garden, lots of fabulous friends to help out and an evening of love, laughter and great dancing. They do do a great celebration.
06.01.2022 January is a very busy month for weddings and like many months of the year weather can be unpredictable. Despite Friday's 41 degrees I did a lovely wedding in the morning at Royal South Australian Yacht club overlooking the Marina. A sand ceremony to represent the uniting of all family members added a lovely touch. Rituals can be powerful and while some of us are not involved in many rituals in a secular society, a wedding ceremony is an opportunity to create one.
04.01.2022 October is definitely the beginning of the spring /summer wedding season. My first one for the month was at the tree in Burbrook Forest. The weather was kind, of course it was cool, that's what trees do well, provide shade. However,The beauty of being surrounded by nature and the adrenaline kept us warm. It was actually a lovely drive to get there too. So I have discovered a new venue and the wedding party did look stunning. I'm waiting for some photos so stay tuned
04.01.2022 At Last! I cant wait to be involved in creating ceremonies for everyone who deserve to marry the person they love. Bring on the joy, bring on the parties..
03.01.2022 It's time the government got on with it's job of passing legislation that the majority of Australians want. I can think of much better ways of spending the millions of dollars a plebiscite will cost.
03.01.2022 December 7th 2017 was a great day. Isn't all love worth celebrating
01.01.2022 I was reminded of this beautiful wedding I did in 2016 and the photographer was lovely. Yasmin Feury Feuerriegel you may like to make contact with her. Beach weddings can play havoc with ones hair style!
01.01.2022 My job as a celebrant allows me to be part of a range of family milestones. I have done many Naming days now and they are always a joy. A naming day is an opportunity to welcome a new child to the family and acknowledge the gratitude for it's arrival and the joy it gives the family. It can include thanking Grandparents, naming Godparents and of course officially naming the baby. It is a bit like a secular Christening.... Saturdays Naming day was special as it was baby number 2 for the couple- I also did their daughters- and considering he was 11 weeks premature he was a beautiful healthy one year old. Now that is certainly something to be grateful for. Connecting again with a couple and seeing the supportive extended family and community they have around them as parents to young children also allows me to witness community coming together. Of course I love celebrations but when I can infuse them with some kind of ceremony or ritual to make it even more meaningful I love them even more
01.01.2022 Well what a wonderful outcome it was - the postal survey finally allowed LGTBI people to have the same rights as others in the community. Long overdue, not without it's costs but a time for celebration. I look forward to creating marriage ceremonies for same sex attracted couples- and sharing the joy.
01.01.2022 Music, dancing and love can always get emotional but this one made me tear up.
