10.01.2022 What's your biggest fear about living in an intentional community? We recently ran a survey on ic.org asking people to share their biggest challenges and fears ...about living in an intentional community. We collected about 200 responses in two days. The answers were unsurprising in some ways because they are the doubts we all have had at some point or another when thinking about community Will I fit in? Will we all get along? What happens when there is a bad conflict? Poor governance? Lack of privacy? Too much expense? Too little freedom? Community collapse? The recent issue of Communities magazine, the Shadow Side of Cooperation, addresses all of these questions head-on. The worst that can happen? It probably has already happened in some community somewhere. So let’s look into these stories and learn what they have to teach.
