23.01.2022 A little glimmer of hope in the US.

22.01.2022 Disastrous idea from the Labor party. Also Adelaide Uni has more enrolments than Oxford and they seem to be doing just fine.....

20.01.2022 Safe Access Zones pass in South Australia! I was proud to co-sponsor this Bill in the upper house where it has just passed. Thank you to Nat Cook MP for your wo...rk and support co-sponsoring this in the lower house, and to the South Australian Abortion Action Coalition for all of their support, hard work, and advocacy. Abortion care is health care, and we're now one step closer to treating it as such <3 See more

07.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very happy Diwali and Bandi Chhorh divas!

02.01.2022 Remembrance day is many things to many people. Rituals of remembrance and expressions of grief are taking place across our community - rituals that were not abl...e to take place on ANZAC Day this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making them even more meaningful for some. What these moments say about us as a people and what they mean for us nation are complex questions. But I do know what this day means for me. To me, it is a day to remember not only those who fell on battlefields far from home; but also all those whose war continued long after the last gun fell silent, those who returned and yet never really came home. It is a day to remember the families who endured the long dark of wartime, waiting for the return of their loved ones. It is a day to remember all those who answered the call to serve a nation which did not recognise their place within it, nor the war their ancestors fought in its defence It is a day to share in a collective pride born from so many acts of valour and to share in a greater collective grief for those we've lost and hope to see again. For me this ritual of remembrance is not rose-tinted. I do not believe that war is glorious, nor all of its participants valorous: Being part of a family whose members still quietly grieve for those we lost to WW2, I can think of no greater dishonour, to the living or the dead, than the glorification of war. This Remembrance Day I remember and pay my respect, not to justify, sanctify or glorify. I do so because to do otherwise would be to allow the violent cycle of war to continue; it would be to sit back and watch as countless more are reduced to names on memorials. I remember because, though they did not fall for nothing, so many fell for so much less than their lives were worth. I remember not to honour, for remembrance is not enough, but to recommit myself to doing what I can to contribute to the achievement of the only goal which I believe to be a fitting tribute to them; a world without war. Lest we forget.
