23.01.2022 Perfect day for a spot of community gardening :) Hope to see you at the patch 12-3pm.

22.01.2022 Looks like we made the lead article in this edition of Community Garden News by Kitchen Gardens SA :) A good local publication to keep you updated on garden happenings in SA.

19.01.2022 ** Merry Xmas & Garden Site Closure ** Hi Adelaide Hills Community Garden friends and supporters. We hope you are well, and planning a lovely Christmas and New Year after the end of year busy-ness. The last year has seen plenty of activity in the community garden. Four large raised beds were up-cycled from old rainwater tanks to become productive veggie beds, an autumn planting workshop hosted, more berry beds, rhubarb and fruit trees added, a sandpit and kid's veggie garden ...created, a large kids' cubby and slippery dip moved on site, we ran a fund-raising film night, with many litres of soup made and served, many raffle prizes donated and piles of bricks donated and transported.....Thank you to all the wonderful people who have helped in so many ways. However there is now some sad news: due to low numbers in the congregation the church appears headed for closure, which means we lose the community garden site - it's disappointing to step away from this. As a result, over the next few months we will be merging with The Old School Community Garden in Stirling at 100 Old Mt Barker Road. Our assets will be a boost to the developing community garden on a large site in Stirling. Their members have been of great help to our own garden's construction over the last few years, so we are glad to now have the opportunity to return the favour. We encourage you to check out their Facebook page to see what they've been up to so far, to keep up to date with coming events and to explore membership at this new garden site. More details will be sent out in the new year. Meanwhile a warm thank you to all who've participated in the Adelaide Hills Community Garden at Verdun. Best wishes for a safe and happy festive season, The committee, Adelaide Hills Community Garden.

16.01.2022 Happy Halloween community gardeners!

16.01.2022 Hey there happy gardeners, our next Community Garden working bee is this Sunday 12-3pm. All welcome. Hope to see you there :)

12.01.2022 This Sun 9am-12pm... The time has come to start transferring the physical items from our garden over to their new home! Please get in touch with the team at The Old School Community Garden in Stirling and let them know if you have a ute or trailer and can help out. Cubby, raised beds and soil, building materials etc all need to be moved. Many hands make light work and a great chance to get down to see the new site in Stirling if you haven't already.

12.01.2022 Hi Adelaide Hills Community Garden friends and supporters. Our merger with The Old School Community Garden - TOSCG - is now underway. The location is 100 Mt Barker Road, Stirling (near the Sticky Rice cooking school, and the site of Stirling East Primary many years ago.) The group meets on site on the 1st Wed morning; 2nd Sun morning and 4th Sat morning each month (plus ad-hoc sessions here and there as well). One of the committee is currently working on calendars to send o...ut for the next 3 months to make it easier to plan. Coming up in February is a compost workshop. Membership is $30/family or $20/single for a year, and members are asked to contribute two hours a month towards development and maintenance of the garden (this is an honour system only though, not strictly enforced!). Members are entitled to discounted workshops, as well as specials that come up time to time (like OSG container beds and Neutrog incentive). There are also individual plots now available for lease. Interested people are welcome to just turn up, at any session. Membership fees can be paid on site, or the form has account details on it for direct deposit. Contact details are: [email protected], or visit The Old School Community Garden in Stirling on Facebook. While it's sad to leave Verdun it's also exciting to join this developing garden, and a pleasure to contribute. We're looking forward to seeing many of you in Stirling :) Mulch love and best wishes to all, The committee, Adelaide Hills Community Garden

Great effort to all involved in moving the raised garden beds, rainwater tank, cubby house, soil and building material to their new home. We're excited at being able to contribute positively to the great work going on at the Stirling garden. Great job team!

04.01.2022 Hi Adelaide Hills Community Garden friends and supporters, This Saturday 11th May from 2-5 we're delighted to be finally moving the infrastructure from Verdun to the new home in Stirling, The Old School Community Garden (TOSCG), 100 Old Mt Barker Road. The weather should be good and so far there will be a truck, a digger, a flatbed trailer and a smallish van. We will be moving the tank, the cubby house, the six raised beds, compost, bricks, stardroppers and the pretty blue g...ate. Any extra hands and any extra trailers are welcome - if you're able to help meet on site around 2. The Old School Community Garden in Stirling has already had a lot of work and is looking good - it will be a real pleasure to add the cubby and raised beds etc. Cheers,

02.01.2022 Working Bee today. Unexpected delays on the shed mean there will be no Shed Raising today.....however other activities in the Garden will still go ahead and we will be sharing some delicious fresh spanakopita along with some refreshing organic beverages. See you there :)
