06.01.2022 Did you know Mannum is the birthplace of the first steam car in Australia with a differential created by the David and John Shearer in 1897 ten years before Hen...ry Ford. The volunteers at the Mannum Dock Museum of River History are building a replica Shearer Car to be launched at the All Steamed Up event in November to celebrate the 120th Anniversary of this auspicious event. This inventive genius has returned with the amazing talents of volunteer Doug Baker (brother of our wonderful volunteer Roger Baker), certainly a reincarnation of the Shearer Brothers with their engineering, manufacturing and artistic talents!
