24.01.2022 Great advice from the Women’s hospital in Melbourne for new mums worried about their baby with covid. https://www.thewomens.org.au//advice-for-breastfeeding-wo/

23.01.2022 The prime minister has announced the return of some elective surgery over the next few weeks, we are waiting for advice from the premier and S.A. Health before we begin booking procedures. If you had a procedure booked with us we will be in contact as soon as we know more!

23.01.2022 Elective gynaecology surgery in Australia has been postponed as of midnight 25/3/20 due to the Covid - 19 pandemic, unfortunately this means planned elective gynaecology procedures with Dr Johnson/Dr Waterfall will not go ahead as scheduled. We apologise for this, though hope you understand that this is out of our control. We are not sure when we will be able to commence elective gynaecology operating again, though as soon as elective operating restarts we aim to reschedule ...procedures as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you have any concerns or questions or would like to schedule a consultation with Dr Waterfall or Dr Johnson please get in touch via email or phone 0423588323. Depending on your situation we may be able to provide a Telehealth appointment if needed. Caesarean sections will proceed as booked. Stay safe, Adelaide Hills O&G

22.01.2022 For any of our obstetric patients delivering at Burnside - it’s business as usual

21.01.2022 Today is bereaved Mother’s Day, supporting all women who have lost a pregnancy, a baby, a child. There is no stronger person than a grieving mother that wakes up and keeps going every morning

19.01.2022 Happy world breastfeeding week! Both Dr Johnson and Dr Waterfall are strong advocates of breastfeeding and support immediate skin to skin after birth when possible, antenatal breast feeding education and expressing colostrum antenatally. We know that everyone’s breastfeeding journey is different and we will help in any way we can.

17.01.2022 With the new Covid restrictions, and to keep us all safe, we ask everyone to please - wear a mask on entering the rooms (if possible please bring your own, though if needed we can provide for patients) - sign in with our QR code or on the paper record at reception - please only one support person, no children (babies in prams/capsules are still welcome) - not attend if you have any symptoms, please call for advice ... Thanks again as we work to stay Covid safe

17.01.2022 There are appointments available for the vaccine available this week. https://www.sahealth.sa.gov.au//booking+your+vaccination+a

16.01.2022 Why have your baby with Adelaide Hills O&G? Dr Johnson and Dr Waterfall are both specialist obstetricians/gynaecologists, all they do is look after women, including delivering their babies. Some of the reasons women choose us is because they are keen for expert personalised care during their pregnancy, they want to see the same doctor at every visit and they want to have a female specialist obstetrician at the birth of their baby. Do I have to have private Obstetric insuran...ce to deliver at Mt Barker Hospital with Adelaide Hills O&G? You don’t have to have private obstetric insurance to deliver at Mt Barker hospital. Private insurance offers you a smaller gap and the option of continuity of care if you need to be transferred to another hospital or prefer to deliver at Burnside Hospital. How do I book my first appointment or find out more information? Feel free to call, email or visit our website www.adelaidehillsoandg.com for more information on what we can offer you at such an important time of your life. You will need a referral from your GP before you attend your first appointment, which normally occurs at around 10 weeks of pregnancy (although we are happy to accept new patients if we can accommodate throughout all stages of pregnancy).

16.01.2022 Sneak peek in the new rooms - we can’t wait until they are finished

16.01.2022 Demolition has started on the extension. We are very excited that we will soon be able to welcome you all into our larger space. In the interim it’s business as usual apart from a smaller carpark while the building happens. There are additional carparks next door at the hospital if needed.

15.01.2022 As we enter lockdown we are restricting our activities, please help keep everyone safe. We are still open and converting most appointments to Telehealth, with face to face only for urgent examinations and pregnant women as needed. Anyone with an appointment booked this week - we will contact you to discuss your appointment. Unfortunately non urgent elective surgery has been cancelled, we will contact you if you have a procedure scheduled prior to 27th July. ... If you are visiting the rooms - please no support people (infants in capsule/pram only), wear masks and please don’t attend if you have any covid symptoms or if you have been at an exposure location. It is understandable that this situation can cause considerable anxiety, for everyone, but in particular for our pregnant clients - please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns

14.01.2022 It’s not always love at first sight.

11.01.2022 Gratitude - We get so much joy from our work, today we got a bit of extra joy from these beautiful flowers from a happy patient

05.01.2022 Given the latest Covid advice we ask that those attending for appointments please come with only one support person (no children sorry!). If you have an appointment and you are unwell or have been asked to isolate please call us to discuss a Telehealth appointment.

04.01.2022 This week we welcome Dr Marion Andrew to our new rooms. She is a medical hypnotherapist as well as a specialist anaesthetist. Dr Andrew can help with pain in pregnancy, preparation for labour as well as a number of other issues including smoking cessation and anxiety. If you are one of our patients we can organise a referral for you to see Dr Andrew otherwise your GP can organise a referral for you.
