25.01.2022 Did you know we do Robotic Surgery ? Dr's Baird, Fassina and Munt were integral in introducing Mako Robotic Arm Assisted Joint Replacement Surgery to South Australia. This innovative and accurate option allows for patient specific management of arthritic hip and knee conditions.

24.01.2022 Burnside hospital has announced visitors to patients of the hospital will cease as of 10.00am 16th November, 2020 due to the recent changes in South Australia of COVID19. If you are being admitted, your visitor may only enter the hospital to provide assistance during your drop off/pick up. The nursing staff will transport you to and from the wards/patient care areas. All patients will need to continue to be screened on the day of admission and this will include having your temperature taken, and a risk assessment. Patients of maternity patients will still be able to attend but will be screened each time they come into the hospital. Thank you for your co-operation.

Their role is quite diverse and involves juggling a lot of different responsibilities. From greeting you at your appointment to arranging your surgery and everything in between, our Receptionists do it all with professionalism and a friendly smile!... 16.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE If you are attending our rooms for an appointment please note a surgical mask is mandatory. Upon entry to the Burnside hospital you will be required to check in. You can download the mySA GOV app using your smart phone. In the mySA GOV app, select the COVID SAfe Check-in tile when you arrive and follow the prompts to scan their unique QR code and check in. You can download this app from Apple App Store or Google Play. If you do not have a compatible sma...rt phone, a paper record will be available for you to provide details. When you first enter the COVID SAfe Check-In tile, you will be asked to fill in your details and mobile number. You will then get a text message with a unique code to enter in to the app. This is to verify your phone number. You will only have to do this once. Your details will be retained for 28 days and will only be released to SA Health for official contact tracing purposes. This will enable Dr Baird to provide his patients in the Northern area with quality local orthopaedic care. Dr Baird strongly believes that treating patients closer to their home and supports improves their outcomes. Dr Baird specialises in the management of orthopaedic conditions of the ...hip and knee, including arthritis and sporting injuries, as well as general orthopaedics and trauma. 11.01.2022 From today, masks will no longer be mandatory for: people present in health care settings (this includes staff and visitors at residential aged care facilitie...s) people working in personal care services (hairdressers, beauty salons, tattoo parlours and similar businesses). Face masks are an additional physical barrier and help to stop the spread of COVID-19. At this time in South Australia it is not mandatory for the general community, but it is recommended to wear a mask when out in public if you are unable to physically distance from others. 11.01.2022 Adelaide Hip & Knee Centre is located inside the Burnside hospital. On entering the hospital you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire and a temperature check by the lovely staff of the hospital. One, do not neglect your ordinary health, but to continue to protect against COVID-19 with our basic actions. 04.01.2022 Last month Dr Baird was honoured to proctor Dr Luke Mooney and Dr Richard Clarnette, from the Wakefield Orthopaedic Clinic, for their first Mako Robotic Assisted Total Hip Replacement Surgeries. Both cases were expertly performed and he is sure that Luke and Richard will find this system a great addition to their practice. Dr Baird is passionate about training other surgeons both locally and internationally in the use of this technology.
