25.01.2022 Sunday soundtrack

25.01.2022 And that’s a wrap! THANK YOU to all the students, parents, and followers for being with me over this crazy year and helping support a local small business Are you looking for fun activities for the holidays? I will be doing a Boom Whacker ensemble in January, suitable for kids aged 4 and up. Stay tuned for details

24.01.2022 **Special School Holiday Offer** Are you interested in trying out Melody Munchkins but feel unsure about signing up for a whole term? On July 14th and 16th there will be FREE trial classes for new families. There are limited spaces available, so please get in touch to reserve a spot. This is a great chance to get a taste of what’s on offer, try out the instruments, see the music studio, and ask questions about the programme. The trial sessions are 30 minutes each plus questi...on time. About Melody Munchkins: Located in Klemzig, Melody Munchkins is a music school for 0-5 year olds designed by a violin and a classical guitar teacher that aims to give young kids a solid foundation in music before learning an instrument. This includes skills like singing in tune, rhythm skills, memorisation development, movement in time to a beat, and much more. Inspired by Suzuki, Kodály and Orff (Steiner) methodologies, we believe in hands on learning in a fun and caring environment with lots of quality instruments, with experienced music teachers, and with quality learning materials. Classes are mixed age, so you can bring all the kids together and make music time family time. Feel free to browse through some of our videos and posts to find out more, and don’t forget to book in for your free session.

24.01.2022 Wishing everyone a magical music filled Christmas and New Year

15.01.2022 Thank you to the wonderful families who participated in classes this term! We learned the meaning of forte and piano, and how to recognise phrases in music. We developed our rhythm skills with poems, and through playing percussion instruments. There were interesting new genres of music to listen and dance to, and lots of laughter and smiles Thank you for a fun and memorable term - Annie

09.01.2022 I’ve been asked many times now Is it really worth the kids doing singing groups when they’re so small? And the answer is absolutely! He’s an interesting article that outlines some of the ways singing contributes to our instrumental learning process.

06.01.2022 Do you know what Boomwhackers are? They are a plastic musical instrument, with each pipe playing one note, and they are a great tool to learn how to play music with others, because you can do it even if you can’t read music (yet!). I’ll be running a boomwhacker ensemble on Thursdays afternoons from 4-5pm for the next 3 weeks (January 7, 14, and 21). Cost is $10 each per session. Suitable for children who are old enough to work well together in a group and have basic literacy... skills. ONLY SIX PLACES AVAILABLE in the group, so book in early if you’re interested! Do you want to get together with another family and have your own session? Get in touch to arrange. Please share with friends who are looking for a unique and fun activity to do during the summer holidays!

05.01.2022 Still time to join us for Term 4!
