His approach draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and mental skills training. After her first degree she worked in community services and child protection before returning to university to train as a psychologist. In addition she has worked as a Diversity Consultant helping businesses around Australia develop more inclusive organisational culture, and is currently working in rehabilitation.... 01.01.2022 PSA + AURHA CAREERS NIGHT 2020 INTRODUCING OUR FINAL SPEAKER: KAREN LINEHAN Karen has been registered as a Psychologist since 2011. Given Karen’s passion for the ‘mind-body’ connection, she completed a Master in Psychology (Health) at the University of Adelaide in 2014 and has since gained her endorsement as a specialist in this area. Karen has worked within the heart failure service across the Central Adelaide Local Hospital Network for the past 5 years. Karen has recently t...aking on a 12 month contract role as a Senior Health Psychologist at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital setting up an acute psychology service for inpatients experiencing health related distress. Karen sits on the Australian Psychological Society’s SA Branch committee, on the APS SA College of Health Psychology Committee and also holds an honorary title of Clinical Lecturer at The University of Adelaide.
