21.01.2022 CLUB UPDATE GOING INTO PLAYOFFS It is coming down to crunch time, with finals only a few games away. It’s relatively smooth sailing into playoffs for the Premier and C Grade sides, where the season looks like it’s a battle for top spot in both divisions against the Tigers. For the A’s, it all comes down to winning the last three, and the Falcons dropping a game to get our side into the playoffs. While the B competition has the Tigers pretty much taking the top spot in the re...gular season, the next three spots can be taken by anyone, with the Redwings, Jokers and Blackhawks separated by only few points. Captain Walsh finished the game with 3 assists and as the Vodafone player of the game. Nicola Pau lead the way with the hat trick and a 4 point night. Steve Best also had another good showing picking up 4 points of his own. Curtis Villani picked up the win with 23 saves.

17.01.2022 The Redwings Raffle is in its final month with the draw to take place December 1st. We're keeping our 10 tickets for $50 promotion open through the attached link. Single tickets are available for $10. Dont miss out on these great prizes included the top prize $1000 JB HI FI Voucher.

16.01.2022 A convinsing 8-3 win to start the season against a very undermanned Blackhawks team. Remy McGuiness picked up the hat trick but it was Curtis Villani picking up the Vodafone player of the game. His first back as a Redwings since returning from the Falcons to replace Andrew Glass. Villani only faced 17 shots but had to be sharp stopping several break aways and quality in close scoring chances.... Were back on the ice Saturday 30th 3:45pm vs the Falcons. Captain Trevor Walsh returns from suspension, Curtis Villani plays against his former club and we come up against former Wing Adam Wise who returned to the Falcons for 2019. As usual entry to the Ice ArenA is free for all IHSA games.

15.01.2022 The Redwings are your 2019 IHSA Premier League Champions! Winning Game 3 against the Falcons 5-2. Thank you to IHSA, all the on and off ice officials along with all the volunteers through out the season. Also thank you to the Falcons for 3 great games of hockey.

14.01.2022 Sunday was a jam packed night for the Redwings Club, with three of the four divisions playing throughout the evening. It would turn out to be a good night for the guys and gals in Red, with all the teams picking up wins. The B Grade side had a goal for goal, evenly matched game against the Blackhawks. The boys took it out in a shootout 5-4. The A Grade team fell behind early, but manage to get themselves back in the game. They held strong, gaining a very important win against... the Tigers team. To top off the night, the Cs demolished the Jokers with a convincing and dominating 9-1 win. 14.01.2022 There were mixed results for the Redwings this week, with two wins and two losses. The Tigers gave us some trouble in the Premier League and B Grade. The Prems were up early, but the Tigers clawed back in the third, capitalising on a two minute slump and running away with the win 7-4. It was a hard night for the Bs, who couldn't find any chemistry and were outplayed by the top side. There is no doubt the boys can regroup this week when they take on the Jokers. Sunday night... saw the As and Cs get back to back wins. The A Grade side came out strong with help from Cooper Walsh, who would eventually bag four goals for the game. It wasn't going to be too easy, with the Jokers pushing our boys down to the final minutes. The Cs played the Blackhawks. It was an evenly fought game, but our goalie Russ King was the difference making some excellent saves and keeping it to a 4 -1 win. Game Stats: Premier Tigers (7) def Redwings (4) Scorers: Pelligrin, Gal, Grubb, Walsh (1) Current Standing: 2nd Place (5-2-0-0) 15pts Next Game: Wednesday 29th May 9:15pm vs Jokers (4th place, 12pts) B Grade Tigers (7) def Redwings (0) Current Standing: 3rd Place (3-2-1-0) 11pts Next Game: Thursday 30th May 9:45pm vs Jokers (4th Place, 6pts) A Grade Redwings (7) def Jokers (6) Scorers: C. 14.01.2022 Our Premier side started the week with a convincing win over the Blackhawks 5-2. The Hawks kept it relatively close in the first period, keeping our men to a one goal lead going into the middle period. The second period was riddled with penalties from both sides, with neither side finding the back of the net. The Wings finished the game with two goals in the third, keeping them on top of the Premier League ladder. The B side also took on the Blackhawks, and started their gam...e strong; out shooting their opponents 12-4 in the first period. The Hawks clawed back in the second, shutting out our side and equalizing the scoreline. It was a different story in the third, with the Wings dominating the first half of the period with an unanswered 4 goals. 6-3 win. There was only one game over the long weekend, with the C Grade team sitting this round with a bye. The A grade side were down to seven skaters, and were up against a strong Falcons side and they ultimately started the game with 3 unanswered goals. Our boys managed to find their game, and come back in the second, winning the period and scoring twice. Without the legs, it wasn’t enough but it was a grand effort for an empty bench. Game Stats: Premier Redwings (5) def Blackhawks (2) Scorers: Best, Gal, Pau, Pellerin, Walsh (1) Current Standing: 1st Place (6-2-0-1) 19pts Next Game: Wednesday 12th June 7:45pm vs Falcons (3rd place, 15pts) B Grade Redwings (6) def Blackhawks (3) Scorers: Gaspari, Gunton, Lee, McMurren (1), Dunning (2) Current Standing: 2nd Place (5-2-1-0) 17pts Next Game: Thursday 13th June 8:15pm vs Falcons (5th Place, 0pts) A Grade Falcons (5) def Redwings (2) Scorers: Lowe, Williams (1) Current Standing: 4th Place (2-3-1-0) 8pts Next Game: 16th June 6:30pm vs Jokers (5th Place, 1pt) C Grade BYE Current Standing: 2nd Place (5-3-1-0) 17pts Next Game: Sunday 16th June 8:00pm vs Tigers (1st Place, 19pts)

13.01.2022 It was another big win for the Premier side this week to keep them atop of the league ladder. The Wings were out shot in the first, but managed to capitalize on their shots burying the puck 3 times compared to the Falcons one goal. It was an even affair throughout the remainder of the game, with two goals apiece from both sides. The Premier side will sit a bye round this week, but will return on the 26th June to take on the third place Tigers. On Saturday, the club held a mid... season social night to support the B Grade side, who took on the heavily stacked Falcons. It was a close game until the Redwings found their feet in the second period, laying on the shots and racking up a 4-1 lead going into the third period. The Falcons weren’t giving up easily, matching the shot count our boys put on in the second to even the score and take it to shootout. Wings goalie Jonny Cousins, kept the shootout clean for our side and James Gunton finished it off with the game winner, earning us the two points. The A side took on the Jokers. The team has been struggling with numbers the last few games, and this week was no exception. The Jokers came out strong, with a faster pace and structure than what they have shown in the past. Our boys while strong offensively, struggled with some costly defensive break downs and zone clearances. At the start of the third, our boys were down 5-3 but they finished strong, repairing mistakes that were made in the first two periods. They couldn’t quite get the equalizer and finished with a 5-4 loss. It was a top of the table clash for the C Grade, taking on rivals the Tigers. It is always a close battle between the two teams, but Sunday it was to be the boys in yellow who will dominate the score sheet. Even though the Wings didn’t allow their opposition to capitalize on penalties, they were outshot all game and eventually went down 5-1. An honorable mention goes to Renee Marsland, bagging her first goal as a Redwing. Game Stats: Premier Redwings (5) def Falcons (3) Scorers: Gal, Grubb, Leeming, Pau, Walsh (1) Current Standing: 1st Place (7-2-0-1) 22pts Next Game: Wednesday 26th June 9:15pm vs Tigers (3rd place, 15pts) B Grade Redwings (7) def Falcons (6) SO Scorers: Boundy, Calichio, Gunton, McMurren, Newbound Current Standing: 2nd Place (5-3-2-0) 19pts Next Game: Thursday 27th June 9:45pm vs Tigers (1st Place, 24pts) A Grade Jokers (5) def Redwings (4) Scorers: Dunning, Godfrey, Lowe, Rillera Current Standing: 4th Place (2-7-1-0) 8pts Next Game: 23rd June 9:45pm vs Tigers (1st Place, 24pts) C Grade Tigers (5) def Redwings (1) Scorer: Marsland (1) Current Standing: 2nd Place (5-4-1-0) 17pts Next Game: Sunday 30th June 9:30pm vs Jokers (3rd Place, 14pts)

06.01.2022 This week had similar results for the Redwings, with two wins and two losses. The Premier Jokers started the scoring early, but our boys kept it together to keep the deficit to two going into the second. Our men in red came back strong in middle period, with 3 goals to the Jokers 1, and tying it up for the rest of the game. It would be Mantere's Jokers keeping it to a short game in shootout, finishing it in the first round shooters. The B grade team had a relativity easy n...ight, getting alot of shots on the Jokers goalie. The puck found the net from pressure around the slot and all over offensive zone coverage. The Jokers created trouble for themselves with multiple penalties, which helped our Wings keep control of possession for most of the game, finishing in a nice 6-2 win. Our A grade win streak came to an end, facing a formidable doubleheader clash with the Falcons and the Blackhawks. Saturdays game against the Falcons, saw minimum shooting chances and the strong first line from the blue boys was too tough to keep under control. Sunday saw the As back on the ice again, up against the Blackhawks. The game was evenly match through the first half, but our boys had a rough night containing the puck in the offensive zone, and with some defensive breakdowns in front of the net, the game slipped way. The boys didn't give up, outshooting the Hawks in the third, and noteable efforts from Nic Pedder in the D, who would take the Man of the Match. The C grade matched up with the Falcons, who were determined to stop our 4 game winning streak. It was a slow start with each team gaining a goal each in the first, and none in the second. The third saw both teams going goal for a goal, but both teams would incur some costly penalties late in the third. With 13 seconds to go, our boys took the lead and the win to keep their winning streak alive.
