25.01.2022 It's game day! Good luck to all sides who made the semi-finals. This is what we have waited all season for.

25.01.2022 Overnight Grand Final Scores Section 1: Plympton Footballers 10/39 v Coromandel Ramblers 3/91 (Woweee. Boy oh boy. Didn't expect this result) Section 2: Morphettville Park v ICC Sharks 5/235 (A very good score. Morphetville Park doing a rain dance surely)... Section 3: Keswick II 9/218 v Southern (Good decision to play at the High School. Keeps the game going at least) Section 4: Fitzroy 1/0 v Sheidow Park II 10/108 (Will be a difficult chase. Predicting an upset here if the rain stays away) Section 5: Morphett Vale 7/156 v St George (Is a huge score at Hackham. Should be enough) Section 6: Plympton Footballers III 1/73 def Coromandel Ramblers III 10/66 (A complete reserve of section 1. Not even bothering coming back today with medals already handed out) Section 7: North Haven IV 10/240 v Kenilworth II 1/30 (ASurely won't be able to get there) Section 8: Southern II v Fitzroy II (Where are your scores?) Section 9: Port Noarlunga IV 8/147 v Kenilworth III (Probably worth a lot more on the size of the oval. There'll be a few showers today so Kenilworth will need early wickets to be a chance)

24.01.2022 Now that Finals are only 2 Saturday's away, please advise John Zadow (umpires' coordinator) on 0417 877 396 if you will be available to umpire the first week of our finals on 17/18th March. You will be paid $80 per day. We need at least 20 players to make themselves available, so that we can cover all of the Semi Finals for this year. Please consider? Please advise ASAP

23.01.2022 Last minor round of the season. That means one week till our "finals thoughts" are back! Where has the season gone??? There's still plenty of action today with the top four teams still a chance of changing in Section 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. For lower sections: make sure you practice hitting the pitch today. The two dangerous full toss rule maybe around during finals.... Good luck to all sides. For those not making finals, bring on football season!

22.01.2022 Reckon you could do it quicker?

19.01.2022 One week until the association AGM! 8 motions to be voted on. To be passed they need a 2/3rd's majority. In summary, the motions are as follows: 1 - Giving the power for the executive to elect members to vacant spots on the executive 2 - Adding an appeals process into Section 31 of the constitution... 3 - If motion 3 doesn't pass, adding to Section 37, the executive can reconsider matters if new evidence is provided in relation to matters 4 - Allowing the association to undertake electronic banking 5 - Giving the power for the executive to decide the programme 6 - Making boundaries 1 meter inside all obstacles on the field 7 - Allowing two replacement players in section 1 8 - Greater flexibility with regards to when tea breaks can be taken There are also two motions not changing the constitution which only require a majority vote: 1 - Stopping the printing of the handbook, and producing it in an online version only. 2 - If motion 5 passes, the programme is changed to a 7+7 fixture across all sections Please make sure you have had discussions amongst your clubs in regards to these motions. See you at the AGM!!!

19.01.2022 When you're asked to do fine-leg to fine-leg... Village.

16.01.2022 With the forecast top of 41 today all games have been abandoned. What is everyone upto instead?

16.01.2022 End of day 1 updates below. Some pretty good cricket played across all grades. There'll be a bit of fingernail biting going on around 5pm tomorrow. 1 - Keswick made 7/190. Hope they've got security at the oval because Plympton might be spending some time mowing the outfield tonight to quicken it up. Should be a ripping chase. 2 - Belair scraped to 9/132. If Tansell doesn't get Sampson cheap tomorrow the trophy will be heading to Hackham Oval for a year.... 3 - Hamilton 10/213. Surely North Haven are camping overnight at the oval!!! If the 'gulls are going to chase it down tomorrow it's going to be the Mattner and Martin show. 4 - Waradale 10/108 & ICC 0/43. Hope the ICC lads aren't having too big a night tonight. Finals are a funny game. Should get it done from here though. 5 - Keswick 9/219. Probably under-par on the small primary school oval. Western Youth have a pretty good player in the line-up. If he isn't dismissed early, I reckon WYC will chase it down. 6 - Plympton 4/236. Big score down at Wirreanda. You'd be disappointed if you couldn't hold on for a win here. 7 - Plympton 10/271. Might be just out of reach for Warradale but anything can happen in the lower grades. They have some pretty decent batters.

14.01.2022 For anyone who doesn't make finals. We need an extra 20 umpires to officiate the semi-finals. This is only 5 weeks away.. You get paid to do this.. Contact us if you're interested.

13.01.2022 Good luck to sides today. It's the first time we've had a two day game since Round 7 so remember you have 75 overs (section 1) / 60 overs (section 2 & down) to bat!

12.01.2022 Hello all, I trust you're all enjoying the off-season and training hard!!! Just to inform all players, members, supporters and anyone who is interested in the Adelaide Suburban Cricket Association. A motion has been put forward to cease the printing of the official association handbook in hard copy and electronic copy only. ... Last season the cost of printing the handbook was approximately $5,400. This cost is forward to and paid by all players of the association. I am interested to hear any opinions from as to whether they still use the handbook and think if it has relevance in these modern times..

09.01.2022 Some big games in all sections today. The seasons of many clubs will be made today. TAG who you think will be the hero who move their side into the top 4. TAG who you think will be the villain booking the end of year trip early. We'll find out by 6pm today. Good luck to all sides!

08.01.2022 No cricket today due to todays forecast top of 41 degrees! I think that's a sigh of relief for some sides after Australia day yesterday. Try and stay cool everyone!

07.01.2022 Your 2017/2018 premiers Note: Port Noarlunga IV awarded Section 9 premiership after Kenilworth III played illegal player.

06.01.2022 Congratulations to John Zadow for the nomination. A well deserved award. http://www.saca.com.au//sa-finalists-recognised/2017-04-28

05.01.2022 Congratulations to Peter Zacpal from the Coromandel Cricket Club plays his 500th Senior Match this weekend. What an achievement!

05.01.2022 Grand Final Results: 1 Keswick 7/190 defeated Plympton 10/165. Early wickets on Day 2 saw Keswick run out comfortable winners of the title. Middlin was the only shining light for losing side knocking up a solid 67. Final comment: Not sure where Keswick will store the trophy for the next year, as theyre based across half of Adelaide with training at Immanuel, games in Blackwood and after match presentations at Marion. All that's certain is it wont actually be in Keswick... 2 ICC 8/133 defeated Belair 9/132. After Sampson got out early, Belair would've thought they had it in the bag. However the Sharks other players lifted under the pressure and actually did something to get them over the line. Final comment: The Sharks will rise back up to Section 1 next year... Probably where they shouldve been this season... 3 Hamilton 10/213 defeated North Haven 10/123. The recent success for the Hamilton Cricket Club continues. Having risen through the ranks, they took out another flag after the Mattner and Martin show failed to fire on day 2. Final comment: Will be interesting to see how Hamilton fare in Section 2 next season, as they are a small club with limited resources... 4 ICC 5/109 defeated Warradale 10/108. Another success for the Sharks, with some experience in the line-up, they basically won the game on day one with good bowling. Disappointing performance from Waradale, hardly fired a shot all game. Final thought: Will the Sharks be another team that wins a flag, and struggles the next season when they get promoted a division... 5 Western Youth Centre 3/228 defeated Keswick 9/219. Lead by association star Hopkins, WYC won this game quiet convincingly. This premiership would mean a lot to the club and Hopkins as they have had a tough year off the field. Final thought: The WYC trophy cabinet would be starting to get very full by now... 6 Plympton 4/236 defeated ICC 10/147. Lead by Section 6 hero Karger who notched up his 1000 runs for the season in this game, Plympton were never in doubt with losing this game. The ICC players would be disappointed being the only team to lose this weekend. Nevertheless Im sure they had a good night. Final comment: What if Karger played in Section 1, Plympton might have got over the line in the big one. I guess well never know... 7 Plympton 10/271 defeated Warradale 10/181. Another win for the Footballers and a loss for Warradale. The lads would be happy with this win however its Section 7, so its significance to other people isnt that high Final thought: Will this section be a one day competition next season... Parting word: Well done to all players, umpires, teams and officials on the great season. Rest up those sore spots over the winter months and see you next October!

05.01.2022 Please remember to keep this in mind for Round 1 games tomorrow. Our umpires do a great job!

05.01.2022 Semi Final overnight scores (and comments) Section 1 Plympton Footballers 0/5 v Western Youth Centre 10/182 - If the game gets to the last 15 overs it'll be too much for Western Youth... Coromandel Ramblers 1/77 def Port Noarlunga 10/70 - The Port Noarlunga bar would be making bait tonight surely Section 2 Morphettville Park 2/30 v Belair 10/119 - If Florence is gone its game over for Morphies Coromandel 10/148 v ICC Sharks - Could be a winning score with good bowling at the slow oval. Early wicket will be key Section 3 Morphettville Park II 10/106 v Southern - 106 will be a tough chase as its a final. Just don't go silly this time. Don't want any knee injuries. Keswick II 7/253 v Coromandel Ramblers II - Very good score but chaseable with a 100 from the top 3 Section 4 Western Youth II v Sheidow Park II - Get your scores in Fitzroy 10/153 v Kenilworth - Stancl seen at Wakefield Street Sportsmed raiding the shoulder tap cupboard Section 5 Morphett Vale 10/288 v Mitchell Park II - Game over. St George 0/2 v Belair II - 10/137 - Should be an all "A-Grade" GF unless something major happens Section 6 Keswick III v Coromandel Ramblers III 9/198 - A good score despite the postage stamp ground. Should be enough. Cove II v Plympton Footballers III - Get your scores in Section 7 North Haven 10/102 def St George 10/57 - Surely don't bother making the drive out tomorrow. Kenilworth 10/83 def Sheidow Park III 10/74 - Did the Bulls get ahead of themselves after their bowling performance. Section 8 Coromandel 9/163 v Fitzroy - A reasonable score on a big oval. With early wickets it should be a winning score. Morphettville Park IV 10/131 v Southern II - Been at the top all season. Should be able to defend that. Section 9 Port Noarlunga IV 10/155 v Plympton Footballers V - It'll be over early either way. Plympton to go down swinging. Kenilworth III 10/112 v Sheidow Park IV 9/45 - Couldn't lose from here surely.

05.01.2022 There is a good chance my whites have been in my bag the whole off season....

03.01.2022 Hello all, I hope everyone is having a good off-season. I trust people are going all out with extra training sessions to improve the flaws we have in our games!!! On a serious note, a proposal has been put forward to the association to change the fixture for next season. I think its best we have a serious discussion about the merits of the proposal so the views of all are heard. The proposal that has been put forward has three options to change the fixture:... * Option 1: Create a separate one day competition where clubs can nominate teams to play in this section. They would play only one day games throughout the whole season * Option 2: Change the fixture to 8 teams per section and play a 7 + 7 draw where you play each team in a one day game and a two day game. * Option 3: Leave as is Whilst all options have their pros and cons, itd be great to hear the opinion of others about which option they would like to see. Would having more one day games make it easier for clubs to attract players? Personally I am in favour of a 7 +7 draw as it removes any bias in the fixture. Some feel these things only really get discussed at association meetings which are only attended by those same select few and those opinions arent the general consensus of majority of the association.. Please post your comments below about which option you would prefer!

03.01.2022 Who's pumped for pre season fitness?

02.01.2022 Congratulations to the Plympton Footballers who won the 2017/18 ASCA KoT20 competition defeating the Coromandel Ramblers in today's final.
