She’s been training with us since she was 2yrs old from our Ninja Tots program and has been an absolute legend to work with. ... 15.01.2022 [Magical Memories] What an amazing memory back from July 2012 of some of our members! Original post from 8 years ago read: "It's a family affair! Congratulations to the O'Callaghan family from Adelaide Taekwondo Academy for getting a full page feature in the SA Defence Business magazine this month for the "out of hours" section. Tim is a busy man being a partner at Piper Alderman and vice chairman of the Defence Teaming Centre, but still manages to find time to train with hi...s kids at our club." Tim is now a 3rd Dan black belt while son Jem is 1st Dan. It was great to see both back tonight at training, returning from our COVID closure, as well as all of our other enthusiastic members. We missed you all! So nice to have you all back on the mats!!!!

14.01.2022 [Goodbye 2020!!] What a year! In less than 2 minutes, this 2020 recap video highlights the following:... Closing down our full-time city venue and opening up two more branches at Salisbury and Marleston. Our interstate friends from Tans TKD in QLD come for a training camp. Our competition teams travel overseas, interstate and locally to compete. THE PANDEMIC occurs all our clubs along with many other small businesses get shut down. ATA goes ONLINE. Our community gathers via social networks, ATA portal and Zoom. We get creative, as instructors and as students. WE ADAPT and keep training. Australian Taekwondo nation-wide come together online. Restrictions slightly ease. Some classes can resume at the club. Our first HALF black belt grading occurs. We experience online gradings and home delivery of belt and certificates. Our first winter school holiday program is a success! We get back to some interclub training with our Whiteways friends. Our head instructor grades for 6th Dan. ATA is allowed to re-open at our facilities for Term 3 (with restrictions). Everyone is happy and back at training. We have converted to a ‘Covid Normal’. Term 4 commences. SA goes into another temporary lockdown. ATA shuts down.for a week. We are up and running again, just in time for final grading preps. We hold face to face gradings at ALL of our locations. We hold the biggest black belt and black belt dan gradings to date. We showed as a community we can get through anything together. We thank everyone for their continued support this year and their consistent dedication to your training. Looking forward to what 2021 brings!

11.01.2022 [ATA’s First ] One of our oldest members who have been with us from the beginning has just hit a milestone for our club... As she has just moved up to her senior traditional classes, Tara is our first ATA member who has progressed through all of our programs:... From the beginning when she started at 5 years old in the Mini Rangers, then up to Little Warriors, Warriors and now Senior classes. On top of that she is also on our Poomsae and Sparring competition teams and has been an assistant instructor throughout her time with us. She is currently a 2nd Dan black belt and still training at the club 4 days a week throughout all her different programs. Amazing effort Tara! It is exciting to see how our programs help develop our members progression and we are looking forward to more of our members creating this kind of milestone for themselves!

10.01.2022 [Welcome Black Belts] We are so pleased to introduce 8 more black belts to our ATA black belt family today!! These kids just completed their second half of black belt grading (grading cut in 2 sections due to COVID closure) today. ... As hard as it is to wait a minimum of 12 months (some longer) to even attempt their black belt grading, then having a half grading 12 weeks ago, and having to wait another term to finalize their grading, these guys have shown incredible determination, patience and consistency. 06.01.2022 [Black Belt Grading] 13th December 2020 A day to remember! A day where our club welcomed 18 more black belts through two separate intensive gradings.... A day where age showed no barrier, with members from 9yrs old to 48yrs old all demonstrating the same skills, performing all the required techniques and all showed that no matter what age, perseverance and dedication prevails. It has been an uncertain year. It was a hectic term. These guys could have decided it was all too hard, too many restrictions, to much left out of their control and decide not to prepare for this day that quite possibly could have been prevented from happening. But they are all martial artists, full of resilience and fight, and they cemented their day with a positive mind set and adequate prep no matter the circumstances. A huge congratulations to the following, PROUD is truly an understatement of how all of us instructors are of you!! A fantastic insight to our members of the sister martial art to Taekwondo and where our self defense components of our syllabus originate from. ...
