25.01.2022 Today is an Aerotowing day where members are polishing up on their skills for the up and coming Flinders Ranges trip.

23.01.2022 Dear members Following the latest COVID outbreak and in line with direction from the state government, training operations are cancelled until after 1 December. Maintenance activities at the airfield and West Beach are currently continuing, subject to social distancing guidelines. Please get in touch via the Facebook page or Google Group if you have further questions. Stay safe, James Hobson, AUGC President

23.01.2022 Well done to Ryan for converting to his first single seater, the venerable Ka8! He spent no time messing about, launching into a 1 hour 47 minute flight. Excellent work

23.01.2022 Strong winds today at Stonefield set up a wave system directly above the airfield. Members were able to winch launch straight into it, and had awesome flights at 10,000ft! Wave systems are difficult to predict, so make sure you visit the airfield regularly to experience this awesome phenomenon!

10.01.2022 Another AUGC alumni furthers his flying career. Today Michael Conway, son of club instructors David and Catherine Conway, and older brother of Peter Conway, gained his Military Wings on successful completion of his final flight at 2FTS at RAAF Pearce. Michael has a ground theory component to complete before transferring to Nowra and commencing conversion course to Navy helicopters. Michael grew up at AUGC and soloed at Stonefield in the club’s Puchatek on his 15th birthday in 2012. Michael went on to fly several Joeyglide junior Nationals in his LS4 GNP shared with Peter. He graduated Aeronautical Engineering at ADFA before commencing his pilot training, first at EFTS East Sale and then 2FTS RAAF Pearce.

02.01.2022 Dear Members In line with the release of the SA State Government Roadmap for easing COVID-19 restrictions, AUGC has released a 2 Step Plan https://www.augc.org.au//AUGC%20Health%20&%20Work%20Plan%2 for returning to Operations. Currently the Club has allowed limited private Independent Operations and single pilot Motorfalke flying.... These plans allow a staged return to normal operations. Please ensure you have read and understood them. Please ask if you need clarification. The booking system is to be used to enforce the gathering limit numbers. Instructors who have not flown for more than 90 days should ensure that they are current before undertaking training operations. Be cautious with social distancing requirements for meals at the airfield. You are still required to stay away if you have a cough, flu like symptoms or any symptoms known to be associated with COVID-19 to ensure you do not put anyone else at risk. Insurance will be reinstated on all aircraft. Thankyou all for your patience during this time. The AUGC team hopes to see you safely return to the air. Best wishes Catherine Conway, President AUGC.
