On Monday the 30th of November at 10am we will be meeting outside the Sports Office / Cloisters in order to discuss the exciting future of our club! Just off Mackinnon Parade and very close to the Uni, our eight grass courts are nice and fresh for social and comp. We remind all non-members and especially international students, that NON-MEMBERS may NOT be COVERED UNDER UNIVERSITY INSURANCE otherwise. Insurance, court maintenance and ball costs are major expenses of the club, and the modest fee that we ask for helps make sure there are courts for us all to play on. 15.01.2022 Hello everyone, as some of you may be aware the summer competition is nearly underway. There have been many people interested in joining. I currently have 20+ males interested and around 5 females. It would be great to have at least two female teams for this season (5 players per team) so if you are interested please send a message to the club Facebook page with your name and email so I can add you to the mailing list. Tennis SA has also sent out team registration dates which... will be due at the end of August, so make sure that you express your interest on the Facebook page by the end of this month so that we can register in our teams. If you are interested please send a message to the club Facebook page structured as follows: Skill level (played competition previously at division...) Name- Email Uni student/non Uni student It is awesome to have so many people interested already but it would be even better to have even more. If you havent played much tennis competitively before still send me your details as I can still have you on the mailing list. Before you are put in teams we will go through pre-season which will also include a selection process. Regarding SA challenge (ADELAIDE UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ONLY) there is only 4 spots for MALES and 4 spots for FEMALES so there will be a separate selection process for this so if youre interested mention this in your message. 10.01.2022 Hi Everyone, As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, all AU Clubs are required to temporarily shut-down operations as a result of the Federal Governments restrictions. We are unaware at this stage when clubs will be permitted to re-open, but will keep everyone updated as the situation evolves. 05.01.2022 Hello Adelaide University Tennis club community. Unfortunately due to the rapid increase of concerns regarding COVID-19, the team have decided to cancel all upcoming training sessions until May. When May comes around the committee will then assess the situation and move from there. This means all Sunday social tennis and Thursday Comp team trainings will be called off until the 3rd of May. Before this date comes around we will see what uni sport have recommended and what othe...r uni sports have decided. For the time being people are welcome to go to local community courts to have a hit of tennis. 03.01.2022 COMPETITON AND SA CHALLENGE TEAMS ONLY! This week we will have a training session at the lawn courts on Thursday at 5:30pm. The people I have talked to personally about coming along are welcome but no others. I plan to keep training sessions to a minimum due to the current risk of COVID-19. due to the small numbers, the risk is currently extremely small. Saying this I would still like to keep numbers small so I ask no social players to attend this Thursday session and only pe...ople that have either... - Been to a previous Thursday session. - A part of the SA challenge team. - People that have talked to me (Patrick) at previous sessions about attending. At the moment we will continue to schedule social events but if risk increases, tennis may be postponed until a later date. Thank you for understanding. Adelaide University Tennis Club.
