15.01.2022 It’s nearing the end of 2020 and we’ve just popped 2000 followers on Instagram, so this seems a better time than ever to introduce myself - hi I’m Dale. Becoming vegan just over four years ago was no tough choice for me, after learning of the atrocities happening to animals merely for a moment of satisfaction. Not to mention the negative environmental and health implications too. Over the past few years the rise of vegan food and products has skyrocketed, so I decided to... start this page to help people track down delicious vegan goods and to support businesses who are incorporating vegan options as the demand increases - props to them. In 2018 I graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Media and Journalism, from which I focused my skills towards writing. My experience is varied and has taken me around the world - from Jordan and Doha to learn about foreign affairs and enhance cross-cultural understanding, where I spent some time at multiple non-for-profit organisations and at Al Jazeera Headquarters learning about global news and innovation. Japan was next on the bucket list where I delved into the importance of their popular culture and identity - all of where great vegan food was consumed by the way, trust me! Here in Adelaide, I’ve worked with some great businesses where I’ve taken my skill set on a bit of a roller coaster. From reading and writing the news for Radio Adelaide, sharing stories through videography for Variety SA, interviewing regional communities about internet connectivity and how it affects access to services for the South Australian Council of Social Services and Open State, interning at Channel 10 News, reviewing shows at the Adelaide Fringe, writing content for Glam Adelaide and Adelaide Food Central, and even writing marketing articles for kitchen and carpeting businesses. What a wild ride, and in a turn of events I’ve recently returned to the University of Adelaide to strengthen my abilities in the world of photography - apologies for the lack of posts on the website, my focus has been elsewhere. Thank you for your continuous support, let’s see where 2021 will take the Adelaide Vegan Review!
