As tempting as it is to help the little scruffy babies - Sometimes they just simply do not need our help! Here's an easy-peasy chart we've made for you to follow if you find a baby bird and don't know whether or not its time to intervene

22.01.2022 Feel Good Friday This is the beautiful Zahari who came in for his first puppy check at our Stirling clinic. Zahari is a White Swiss Shepherd, a breed that we don’t see very often, so we were all very excited and smitten with this lovely boy He is currently just over 9 weeks of age and weighs over 9 kg! As an adult he will be a big 35 to 40 kgs - we think at least 20 kg of that is pure cuteness!

14.01.2022 Happy Howl-o-ween! Kevin hopes you have a fang-tastic day and a safe fright-night of trick-or-treating - Be wary to keep an eye out for any purranormal cat-tivity! Be sure that you keep all your Halloween candy far out of reach from any sneaky pets who want to sneak a bite! Bone-Appetite!

14.01.2022 7 weeks ago we had 3 little fluffy Australian Wood duckling orphans brought into our Trinity Gardens clinic Two of our team members, Jess and Nick Male decided to take the babies home to foster. Their kids helped raise the ducklings, now named Mini Goose, Ducky and Teeko, and they've been living a life of leisure on their lawn; they even went to school for show and tell, twice! They will be released in a week or two - though the kids are so very sad to see them go! They've been great fun to have around, even jumping in the pool with the kids unexpectedly one afternoon - they were very quickly shooed out!

11.01.2022 Introducing Dr Ashlee Harkins - Bachelor Veterinary science (BVSc) Being raised in a defence force family, I have had the privilege of living in many parts of Australia, particularly sunny north and far North Queensland. After graduating in with my bachelors of veterinary science from James Cook University in 2018, I made the move to a mixed practice on the Eyre Peninsula. Having developed an interest in learning emergency medicine and eventually ultrasonography, I made the m...ove to join the supportive and innovative team at Adelaide vet. I have since fallen in love with Adelaide and all it has to offer. Along with wanting to further my career in imaging and emergency, I plan to eventually work in the UK for 12 months before returning to Adelaide vet with more experience and perspective. When not at work, I can be found exploring the city and the various gardens usually with coffee in hand. I enjoy horse riding, travelling, swimming, sketching, reading and have become a bit more of a home body with my cat Licorice. She has quickly and easily held the position of head of the house. 10.01.2022 Happy Black Cat Day! Known as a 'Sailor's Best Friend' - due to the fact that black cats were welcome upon British ships believing that having a black cat aboard meant for a safe trip home - these inky companions have plenty of fun facts about them! Such as, did you know that in Japan they have a cat cafe solely dedicated to black cats? They all wear different bandanas to avoid any CATastrophic mix ups! ;) ... Did you also know that there are 22 registered black cat breeds? They vary in colours like smoky, grey-black or brown-black, and some have brown paws. Have a close look at your black cat and see if theres more than meets the eye! Comment a photo of your black beauty and tell us why you love your black cat

Most people know of the more well known toxic foods like chocolate but did you know that avocado, garlic or even broccoli can be toxic to our furry friends? Check out our website link below for a handy list of potential toxicities in our homes and keep your fur friend safe and healthy ... 10.01.2022 Today we're celebrating Mickey Mouse's Birthday! In honour of the birth of our musical and mischevious mouse, we thought we would talk about having mice as pets! Mice make great pets - Intelligent and sociable they love both human and fellow mice as company! They love to burrow in shredded paper , play in home-made hammocks and LOVE treat related enrichment toys like toilet rolls ... Mice are omnivores and enjoy a variety of fruit and vegetables however it's also important they get some good quality rat cube or pellet as well to ensure their nutrition is well rounded. Some important things to remember if you're considering a mouse as a pet is to handle them gently, never holding them by the tail . You will need an appropriate enclosure that will protect them from the elements And finally that they like to live with other mice but it's important that they are either the same gender or one is desexed - Otherwise you could end up with more mice than you bargained for! Happy 92nd Birthday Mickey Mouse!
