22.01.2022 We are LOVING your posts, stories and tweets from Adelaide Writers' Week 2021 - it's great to know that audiences (and writers!) are having a good time. And to make sure everyone keeps having a good time, we need your help, too: keep 5 books away from your fellow literature lover, wash your hands often or use the hand sanitiser provided on site, don't forget to do the COVID SAfe check-in and follow the directions of our COVID Marshals, staff and volunteers. See you tomorrow!
19.01.2022 Thanks to Office for Ageing Well and Seniors Card SA, from today until Thursday we are thrilled to live stream Adelaide Writers' Week 2021 to libraries, schools, aged care facilities, retirement villages and medi-hotels across the State. Check out the list of participating venues here: http://bit.ly/3aEbtB2
18.01.2022 Last evening to enjoy Richard Flanagan's online interview with Jennifer Byrne: if you've missed it, get onto it before 9pm! Tickets available https://bit.ly/InConversationwithRichardFlanagan
14.01.2022 We are still celebrating this glorious Sunday with all the YA authors in the Torrens Tent, clapping in Auslan without making a sound, basking in the excitement of the spoken word performances of First Nation authors and Slammers. And last but not least, we love seeing how interstaters and "lazy locals" (not our words - Lamb's Ears and Honey's) are enjoying streaming selected sessions from their couch. If you planned to join us tomorrow to hear about Alex Miller's latest book,... please note he couldn't unfortunately make it to Adelaide: his session, scheduled for tomorrow at 2:30pm on the East Stage has been replaced by Lateral Histories, with Laura Elvery and Chris Flynn, discussing how works of fiction can teach us about history, or science, in a rewarding and wildly imaginative way. Don't forget activism and advocacy will be front and centre on the Plane Tree Stage tomorrow, with the new series Be the Change featuring Briggs and Sydney Deputy Lord Mayor Jess Scully. Check it out!
13.01.2022 There should be more schools like this!
10.01.2022 Congratulations Sarah for winning our Micro-story Competition for under 18 writers! This morning, Sarah read her story on the Plane Tree stage and received, besides the congratulations of Director Jo Dyer, a $500 prepaid card courtesy of 9 News Adelaide and a stack of YA books that will keep her busy for a while Who knows, maybe in 10 years' time she will be back at #adlww presenting her book?
10.01.2022 Besides celebrating our 60th anniversary this year, our organisation achieved another milestone we are very proud of: Adelaide Festival was the first major Australian Festival to obtain formal certification as a Climate Active carbon neutral event. So, what does it mean to be carbon neutral? Watch the clip below to know more. City of Adelaide... #CarbonNeutralADL #ADL #MyAdelaide See more

03.01.2022 We love the local libraries! Don't you?
02.01.2022 On Saturday, countless young artists made a masterpiece they should be proud of. Based on the fantastic kids book ‘WHAT’S OUT THERE!’, the kids were lucky enough to work with the books author and illustrator, Nicole Stewart, on the day. A special mention goes out to the Raukkan kids from Ngarrindjeri country, who came and added several drawings and words of their favourite plants and animals in their local language. Can you spot Nori the swan? An extra special mention goes to the many other young artists who incorporated Kaurna names of their favourite plants and animals to accompany their beautiful drawings. We respect that this mural was made on Kaurna country and feel the importance of bringing these words into our children’s education.
