24.01.2022 We need to replace 2 gps units in our trucks. What brands and models are other Brigades using that has good off road mapping and gives a grid easily.

24.01.2022 Thursday morning Adelong Rural Fire Brigade had the honour of having a meeting and a lovely chat with the NSW Governor Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley. The Governor thanked the Brigade members for the huge efforts in the three weeks of the Dunn’s Rd Fire. To continue the thanks there was a luncheon at the Batlow Hotel.

19.01.2022 As per the article in the local paper...... permits are required for any fire within the town boundaries excluding backyard fire buckets. If a permit is obtained please inform the local brigade as well....

Last summer highlighted the importance of having a bush fire survival plan which is updated regularly and communicated to all concerned. Now is the time to update your plan or if you don't have a plan make one. 10.01.2022 Attention All New Riverina Highlands Brigade Members, We are holding a Bushfire Fighter (BF) Course soon in Tumut on 22/23 and 25th July and another in Khancob...an on 28-29 August. This is the minimum training course required and covers the following. Firefighter safety principles Basic principles of fire First attack firefighting Bush fire behaviour factors Bush fire development Examples of bush fires Hazards and precautions Hand tools, knapsacks, ropes and ladders Hoses and small gear Water supply and equipment Bush firefighting techniques Bush fire hazard reduction Bush firefighting teamwork Radio communications Contact the Fire Control Center on 6981 4222 and talk to our Learning and Development Officer for further infomation or nominate for the course. Plenty of spots still available.

07.01.2022 ADELONG 1 and 7 with support from Fire and Rescue Batlow attended a structure fire on Wondalga Rd tonight. The roof caught fire from the chimney

06.01.2022 On Saturday last Adelong was called to this MVA on Ellerslie rd. When we arrived,A member of Darlow brigade had a neck collar on an injured female and kept her dry until ambulance arrived.
