24.01.2022 What are you doing for your wellbeing adesso?
24.01.2022 How important is your Breath? According to James Nestor’s book Breath we draw breath 25 thousand times a day! If we don’t breathe properly our body compensates in other ways ( it’s a bit like when you hurt your ankle and you use other muscles to walk) if we don’t breathe properly when we sleep we’re not healing our bodies. How well do you sleep?
22.01.2022 The key to managing stress is taking the time to regenerate! #adesso
21.01.2022 You know the old adage 1 step forwards 2 steps back, that’s how some organisations have explained their approach to employee wellbeing. Up until recently many wellbeing and resilience programs have been reactive with some mature and forward thinking organisations implementing a proactive approach to wellbeing & resilience initiatives. The corona virus has brought with it many much needed quick fix responses to keeping the health and wellbeing of teams front of mind and person...ally I think this is a good thing. What needs to happen now is that this reactive approach should lead into a business as usual, proactive approach to keeping our people well. Use this time as an opportunity to explore, understand your peoples needs and keep moving forward! #wellbeingintheworkplace #resilience #wellbeing #Adesso

18.01.2022 Hi to all our Adesso pracitioners, this page was built for everyone to communicate and connect. Now more than ever is this a neccessity for us to be able reach out and share thoughts and ideas as to how can support our community in the wellbeing space. It is vital that we continue as usual, walking the talk in how we practice our own wellbeing. I will be posting weekly tips and would love you all to contribute.
17.01.2022 As we settle back into the working year many people are saying that this year more than ever they feel like they have hit the ground running, and that it feels ...like we are mid-July not mid-January! Perhaps it’s the bush fires, the anxiety and sense of helplessness that so many feel or the thick smoke than many of us have been breathing for weeks, whatever it is for you there are things you can be doing right now to help yourself and best support your team: Reach out and connect at a human level All to often we get back to business as usual with the focus on targets and transactions. Make time each day to reach out and connect with others, check in and ask RUOK? Celebrate the small wins Don’t wait for the extraordinary or large wins to celebrate, acknowledge effort and work well done on a regular basis. Practice self-care Prioritise self-care, make your wellbeing a priority with a focus on all five drivers of wellbeing ensuring you have rituals and rules to stay motivated and engaged, look after your mental health, nurture and move your body, connect with those around you and remember that your financial health also plays a part in your overall levels of wellbeing. #wellbeing Adesso Profiling See more

16.01.2022 This journal entry from Elizabeth Gilbert speaks volumes! How many of us tell ourselves that be controlling is part of our DNA?
14.01.2022 Maintaining "Focus" is one of the most common problems of the new age, with the ability to access anything i.e google, facebook etc we can be distracted in an instant. The question often asked is how can I fix this?
14.01.2022 CONNECTION: In times of change we can often feel isolated not only in our thoughts but also in our behaviours. Connection plays such a big part of who we as humans. What have you put in place to reach out to your clients to ensure what they set for their wellbeing goals is still applicable or have they identified something new as a result of their current working / homelife environment etc.....
07.01.2022 Facilitating Resilience (Extract from Top News - Gold Coast Health) Staff from four clinical streams have completed certification and are ready to work with you to build resilience. Welcome to Kathleen Ivison, Catherine Walker, Sarah Rollins, and Renay Erwin. They’re partnering with the Learning and Development team to deliver new resilience programs aimed at supporting our staff to understand and build their wellbeing. Allied Health Workforce Development Officer Sarah Rolli...ns volunteered to become a facilitator because she recognises wellness and resilience are important components for staff. There is constant change within the healthcare system and at Gold Coast Health, and our staff face a lot of challenges. Building their resilience and adaptability helps them to better navigate these. This is echoed by fellow facilitator, Robina Nurse Educator Renay Erwin whose passion for improving resilience and supporting staff led her to apply. It’s a key issue that staff approach me about, so becoming a program facilitator allows me to add to my knowledge and skillset so that I am better equipped to support them. The facilitators have just completed an intense two-day certification process in the Adesso Workplace Wellbeing Inventory and the supporting learning programs. Psychologist Kathleen Ivison said the training equipped her with more tools and insights with one in particular a stand out. Breaking rapport we often break rapport when we’re busy, for example we’ll look at text messages when people are trying to communicate with us. Giving your co-workers, clients and patients your full attention and listening mindfully is so valuable as people genuinely notice when you practice attentiveness. Clinical Nurse Catherine Walker’s key take home about the training also summed up the purpose of the Resilience Program beautifully. We all need a health and wellbeing framework in our lives there needs to be a balance of wellbeing in the form of purpose, mind, body, connection and financial to have total health, Catherine said. If you would like to learn about tools and strategies to better manage your energy levels, mindset and priorities then the Resilience Program is for you. See more
