24.01.2022 For the foodies amongst us....... ‘Italy Unpacked: The Art of the Feast’- (59 mins) Andrew Graham-Dixon and chef Giorgio Locatelli Andrew Graham-Dixon and chef Giorgio Locatelli travel through Italy exploring the country's history, culture, food, art and landscape. Their journey begins in Bologna, the capital of Emilia-Romagna, one of the richest regions in Italy. They find out why the city is known as la Dotta (the Learned), la Grassa (the Fat) and la Rossa (the Red), whil...e visiting its shops, art institutions and the oldest university in the world. Andrew and Giorgio experience the social and friendly atmosphere of the region and meet fishermen casting huge nets at the mouth of the river Po. From there, it is a short journey to Ferrara where they discover the legacy left by the famous dynasty d'Este, and to Modena, home of balsamic vinegar and Ferrari. Finally, Giorgio reveals the source of modern Italian cuisine - at the Palatina Library in Parma he views an original copy of the first cookbook of the newly united Italy - while Andrew admires Correggio's magnificent fresco in the dome of Parma Cathedral. 24.01.2022 Due to the unprecedented outbreak of COVID-19, it is a very difficult time for many, with us all having to adjust to so many changes in the way we go about our daily lives. With such uncertain times ahead I am writing to you all now to let you know the impact that this current situation will have on your ADFAS membership and our 2020 lecture program. Our venues, the Town Hall and the Regional Gallery, have advised us that they will be closing until until further notice. Our ...next 3 lecturers have also advised that they are unable to attend. This means that our April, May and June lectures will be cancelled. We, the committee, will meet again in June to review our situation and I will advise you accordingly of where things stand and what to expect for future lectures. I would like to express my thanks and gratitude for your ongoing support of ADFAS Tamworth. Our committee works hard to ensure that we are bringing you an interesting and diverse lecture program and your membership assists us in paying for the associated costs involved in travel, accomodation, lecture fees, insurance, catering etc. As a member society of the National ADFAS we are required to pay our share of the broader associated costs of keeping the organisation viable and productive. This is called a 'capitation fee' which comes out of your annual membership. As many of you have already paid this years membership I am sure you are wondering what you have actually paid for given that already three lectures have been cancelled. The committee has agreed on the following options. 1. All financial members in 2020 will receive a credit for cancelled lectures when purchasing membership in 2021 - currently 3 lectures will give you a credit of $45 deducted from your annual membership of $150 or $125 in 2021. NB: if more lectures are cancelled, then these will also be added. 2. Refund available - if your financial situation dictates that you require a refund we can arrange this but with the following deductions. - $38 capitation fee plus $15 lecture fee for the first lecture held in March. Of course we hope that you will keep your current membership in place and stay with us while we negotiate these difficult times. If however, you require a refund please let me know and we can arrange this for you. For a refund to be processed, please email [email protected] along with your bank details, alternatively you can call me, Sandra on 0438235657. Wishing you all well, take care Sandra McMahon Chair ADFAS Tamworth

Venice: Island Treasure Documentary- (52 mins) Canals, gondolas and sumptuous palaces... the legendary clichés will always be there when you set out to explore Venice.
