25.01.2022 Who feels like the more they do, the more they still need to get done?! We feel you! There's nothing worse than getting to the end of the day wondering where the time went and why you only got 2 things done. So we asked around the office to see what productivity hacks we use to get sh*t done! And these are the 5 we swear by:... 1. Set specific times to check emails. Oh yes, that's right! None of this, 'Oh hey an email!' thing, and before we know it we're scrolling back to that email from last week to 'check' something. 2. Batch tasks. If you're a wearer of many hats (which most of us are.) Then there's a good chance your role covers a few different departments, whether it be admin, finance, accounts, mailing, banking etc. Keep all similar tasks together so you're already in the right frame of mind to get them done. 3. Plan your day! At ADhesive, we use this EVERY SINGLE DAY! We each have a To Do list that we fill out at the beginning of the week and then add to as the week progresses. This helps you triage and prioritise tasks and know when you have time to take on other tasks. 4. Get rid of distractions. If you're easily distracted by your phone, don't leave it where you can reach it. Smart watch? Take it off while you're working on something so you're not checking notifications as they come in. Did you know it takes an average of 23 minutes and 15 seconds to regain focus?! 5. Set deadlines! Parkinson’s Law suggests that no matter how long you have to complete a task, you will do it in the given amount of time. A healthy sense of urgency can help you find the motivation to get things done! If you're an android user, well, honestly I don't know why don't you have an iphone? (joking! I'm sure they have something similar) Do you check it often? And are you surprised to find where you're spending your screen time? Because I am SURE I didn't spend 5 hours in a week scrolling Instagram?! That h...as to be wrong, right?! Well in case you haven't had a look, we suggest you do! You can find it in Settings > Screen Time You will also find that Apple offers downtime, which means you can schedule a specific time period where you can only access calls and selected apps. You can also set app limits. So if you do find that you're spending WAY too much time on the gram, you can set daily limits to ensure you're using your time wisely.
