07.01.2022 ANIMAL AID BAIRNSDALE IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF YOUR HELP!!! DO YOU HAVE TIME TO ASSIST BY BECOMING A TEMPORARY FOSTER CARER FOR CATS AND/OR KITTENS?? Currently, Animal Aid Bairnsdale has 59 cats on site in our care as well as 49 mums and babies being cared for by our wonderful team of home Foster Carers.... With kitten season well and truly upon us, we are running short of carers. Would you be interested in joining our foster team? All you need to supply is Love and a temporary home until the kittens reach around 8-9 weeks of age. All other needs eg bedding, housing crates, bowls, food etc is supplied. Animal Aid Staff are always on hand for assistance and advice. Get togethers are also held with Foster Carers to share experiences and ideas. Carers are required for:- -Mums with kittens -Kittens who have come into care without their Mums either with siblings or single kittens all alone -Neonatal bottle-fed kittens -Kittens who are weaned and therefore able to feed themselves (these kittens are suitable for working foster carers as many of our carers are) -Cats or Kittens that need a little more love than most to help them socialise in readiness for adoption -Long or short term fosters for elderly cats in their twilight years -Time out of the shelter short term carers Typically, kittens are in foster care until they reach 1kg in weight usually around 8-9 weeks of age. They are then returned to the shelter for desexing and adoption. Foster Caring is a vital service that not only greatly assists Animal Aid Staff and the animals under our care but also is an extremely rewarding experience for those participating. We would be most grateful if you would open your heart and consider becoming a foster carer. If you are interested in joining a wonderful team, please contact:- Corryn Russell Shelter Operations Manager -5152-1389 or Sue McReynolds Foster Carer Co-Ordinator 0407 723 530 or by return email. Thanking you in anticipation
